ULTIMATE KOMBAT WRESTLING
BEST OF THE BEST
AREA 15
LAS VEGAS, NV
AS SEEN ON THE FILSINGER INDY WRESTLING NETWORK
Excalibur: Hello and welcome to UKW Best of the Best. I”m Excalibur, along with Colt Cabana, and we have a big night of action here tonight.
Cabana: Grudge matches, title matches and a steel cage match fill our dance card tonight.
Excalibur: And let’s not forget to mention returning and debuting wrestlers as well. Let’s kick things off with the return of Austin Aries to Best of the Best.
Austin Aries vs. Gringo LocoAries was not at a loss of confidence in this match as he toyed with Loco early. This raised the ire of the Base God, who gained a near fall after a GRINGO TWIST. Loco missed a turnbuckle charge and Aries was able to gain a near fall of his own. The action continued with the ref allowing some leeway as both men exchanged chair shots outside the ring. Back in the ring Aries gained the advantage and put Loco away with back to back BRAINBUSTERS.(Amber Gertner is in the locker room with Best of the Best Women’s Champion Tessa Blanchard)
Gertner: Tessa Blanchard, later tonight Cheerleader Melissa will take on Madison Rayne and the winner will get a shot at the Best of the Best Women’s Title. You beat Melissa for the belt and she has stopped at nothing to get back in the ring with you while Madison has proven to be a very viable challenger. What are your thoughts on that match later on tonight?
Blanchard: Really, Amber? Really? I thought you were a better interview than that. Your lack of respect for the Queen of Best of the Best disgusts me. When I agreed to this interview I expected you to talk about the heart and determination it takes to be a champion … my heart … my determination. Instead you talk up that washed up has-been Melissa and Madison Rayne … a never-was, who lacks the talent to even lace up my boots. This interview is over.
(Blanchard storms off, leaving Gertner dumbfounded.)
Excalibur: Apparently Amber Gertner insulted Best of the Best Women’s Champion Tessa Blanchard before the break.
Cabana: Well considering Tessa Blanchard is a cut above the rest and will probably retire as Best of the Best Women’s Champion, I think Amber’s questioning was out of line.
Excalibur: I can’t tell if you’re joking or not. Tessa Blanchard is a talented champion, no doubt, but she can be beaten on any given night just like any other wrestler here. Speaking of which, Sassy Stephie makes her debut on Best of the Best in our next match and she is looking to beat the veteran Allison Danger.
Sassy Stephie w/Mademoiselle Rachelle vs. Allison DangerDanger gained a quick advantage, but Stephie turned the tide when the action spilled out of the ring. Danger survived the KISS MY SASS, only for Stephie to maintain the advantage and throw her out of the ring again. This time Danger was prepared and caught Stephie with a neckbreaker. Danger rolled Stephie back into the ring and delivered a SHIMMERING WARLOCK. Rachelle jumped up on the ring apron and grabbed Danger from behind. Stephie recovered and charged at her catured opponent, but Danger escaped at the last moment resulting in Stephie colliding with Rachelle. Danger followed up with a second SHIMMERING WARLOCK and made the pin.(After the match Allysin Kay stormed the ring and attacked Danger. Stephie joined the assault and the two women left Danger battered and beaten in the ring after a vicious double team. As the crowd showed their distaste for the attack, Danger managed to get to her feet and challenge the duo to a match next week.)
Excalibur: We’ve had another great night of action so far and I’m happy to announce we have a match signed for next week.
Cabana: The Midwest Militia, Sassy Stephie and Allysin Kay with Mademoiselle Rachelle in their corner have answered the challenge of Allison Danger, who will be joined by her long time partner Leva Bates.
Excalibur: It’s the return of Regeneration X, right here on Best of the Best. They will try to gain a measure of revenge for the attack perpetratated by The Midwest Militia here tonight. Our next match features a team looking for some retribution as well.
Cabana: STATIC attacked Tommy End at Luck of the Draw after End and ‘Uptown’ Andy Brown lost in the tournament. End was saved by one of the men that he had just lost to, Eric Watts.
Excalibur: Tonight Watts and End team up to take on a team that believes they are the heir apparent to the Best of the Best Tag Team Titles, STATIC.
Eric Watts & Tommy End vs. STATIC (‘Uptown’ Andy Brown & ‘Young Fuego’ Adrian Quest)End had the early advantage, but STATIC battled back. The action continued back and forth with both teams executing several tags. STATIC eventually proved to be the more fluid tag team when they gained the advantage and Brown pinned Watts with a PACKAGE PILEDRIVER.
Excalibur: I’d have to consider this a bit of an upset.
Cabana: STATIC said they deserve a title shot and I think they just went out and proved it.
Excalibur: Cheerleader Melissa takes on Madison Rayne next and as Amber mentioned earlier, the winner gets a shot a Best of the Best Women’s Champion Tessa Blanchard.
Cabana: These two battled to a double count out last week, so we are looking for something different in this week’s match up.
Cheerleader Melissa vs. Madison RayneThis turned out to be a brutal match as both women recognized what was on the line. Rayne slammed Melissa on the ringside announce table, but it didn’t break. Melissa countered as Rayne attempted to deliver a move from the top with a superplex. Both women battled, but it was Melissa who came out on top with an AIR RAID CRASH.At The Podium w/Dave MarquezMarquez: Please welcome my guests the Kings of Wrestling.
(Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli come out to the podium to a mixed reaction from the crowd.)
Gentlemen, coming up next The Tribe will defend the Best of the Best Tag Team Titles, the belts they wrested from you at Luck of the Draw.
Hero: Don’t get smart with us Marquez. Everyone here knows there should be an asterisk next to that win. It was tainted.
Castagnoli: Our lawyers have petitioned for a rematch for the title that we should have never lost.
Marquez: I have been told you will receive that title match …
(Hero and Castagnoli celebrate briefly.)
If you can beat the World’s Greatest Tag Team next week.
Hero: Are you kidding me Marquez? This is bullshit! Those belts were stolen from us.
Castagnoli: The so called World’s Greatest Tag Team … what a joke. They aren’t anywhere near our league. We are kings!
(Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin make their way to the podim as do a slew of referees as a shouting match develops between the two teams.)
Marquez: This escalated quickly. The tag team title match is next.
Excaliubur: Shaun Ricker and Timothy Thatcher won the Luck of the Draw tournament and as a result receive a Best of the Best Tag Team Title shot.
Cabana: The Tribe won the belts, albeit in controversial fashion, at that event and this will be their first title defense.
BEST OF THE BEST TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
Shaun Ricker w/Percy Pringle III & Timothy Thatcher vs. Best of the Best Tag Team Champions The Tribe (Navajo Warrior & Hawaiian Lion) w/OliviaRicker and Thatcher showed some definite chemistry as a team as they battled back and forth with the champs. Both teams executed mutliple tags as they looked to gain and maintain the advantage. Ricker had Lion down after a GRAVY TRAIN, but Navajo made the save. The action continued back and forth until Thatcher locked in the SAKA OTOSHI. Olivia caused a distraction, which caused Thatcher to release the hold. Thatcher went to the top, but Lion recovered and knocked Thatcher from his perch. Thatcher looked to injure his ankle and Lion locked in an ANKLE LOCK in the center of the ring. Ricker tried to break up the hold, but was intercepted by Navajo. Thatcher was writhing in pain and eventually submitted.(As The Tribe celebrated their victory, WALTER attacked from behind. Thatcher and Ricker joined the fray and it was a three on two assault. WALTER powerbombed Navajo outside the ring while Ricker delivered the GRAVY TRAIN to Lion. Thatcher locked in a FUJIWARA ARMBAR and nearly broke Lion’s arm.)
Excalibur: I can’t believe the vicious attack perpetrated on the Best of the Best Tag Team Champions before the break.
Cabana: No question Percy Pringle has resurrected the Pringle Dynasty here on Best of the Best.
Excaliubr: God help us all. It’s time for our main event and it’s a doozy.
Cabana: This will be the third time Moose and Michael Elgin have faced off in about a month. Neither man is at one hunder percent, but you know that’s not going to stop them from beating the snot out of each other.
STEEL CAGE MATCH
Michael Elgin vs. Moose w/Stokley HathawayHathaway looked on from outside the cage as the match got underway. Both men wasted no time in using the cage as weapon, grinding each other’s face against the steel. Both men attempted to destroy each other as Moose was busted open. Both men were exhaustd by the end and in an amazing show of strength and grit Elgin beat Moose with a Rolling Deadlift German Suplex.Excalibur: We aren’t used to seeing such a violent affair here on Best of the Best, but I think this grudge has been settled.
Cabana: It was one of the hardest hitting affairs Best of the Best has ever seen.
Excalibur: That’s going to be it from Best of the Best tonight. For Colt Cabana, I’m Excalibur and we’ll see you next time.
