Thanks for reading Troy, as I sometimes have a slack period in the Summer.
Sort of a "St Louis Style" Summer Shutdown. Have a few cards rolled with write-ups on the way.

Superstars in the Sunshine State from Tampa, FL
Brad Armstrong beat Tom Prichard using the RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP
Ted Dibiase over Magnum TA with the COBRA CLUTCH
The Valiants W, DQ Blackjack Mulligan & Barry Windham
World Champion Lou Thesz def. Tully Blanchard (with JJ Dillon)
Harley Race scored a win over Buddy Rogers, using a PILEDRIVER as both men bleed from all the ringside brawling.
Dr. Death W, DQ over North American Champion Randy Savage
NOTES: Ted Dibiase made an impact in Tampa. First he dominated Magnum TA. Tossing him into a corner buckle and locked in the COBRA CLUTCH. Magnum squirmed free twice, but Dibiase kept the hold on for the win. Dibiase interfered on behalf of his partner Dr. Death in the North American title bout, choking Savage with a tag rope. This easily lit the Macho Man's short fuse as he used the same rope to choke Dr. Death! The referee stopped the match there as he did not catch Dibiase doing anything only Savage. . . Buddy Rogers dropped a decision to Harley Race, giving each man a win in this recent series. Those two bouts along with a time limit draw at King of the Ring has set up a conclusive Texas Death Match coming up in Hartford, CT . . .Thesz breezed through his title match as Blanchard was overmatched even with JJ Dillon's help. Thesz has offered to put his title up against anyone 1-1.

WRESTLING NEWS UPDATE Next up is a World Tag-Team Title Defense by the Midnight Express as they face the challenge of the Rock & Roll Express. Also a special bunkhouse tag-team rematch between the Valiants vs. Mulligan & Windham headlines. Other events include Magnum TA and Tully Blanchard tangling in a King of Ring rematch. Singles matches include Clinch signed for a 1-1 along with Dibiase and Williams matched up in singles bouts. This duo has asked for a tune up for the special Dream Match in Hartford as that city hosts a big four corners winner-take-all dream match. This bout features World Champion Lou Thesz, North American Champ Randy Savage along with Ted Dibiase and Dr. Death. The match is elimination style and Thesz has stated this is the only way to keep Dibiase and Williams from interfering in their partners matches.
News from other parts of the wrestling world: Former Superstars have made an impact in other corners of the wrestling world. First, former tag-team champions the Fantastics won the American Tag-Team titles in Dallas beating the mysterious masked men "the Monsters of the Mat.". . . Another former tag-title holder, Terry Gordy won and lost the National title to Tommy Rich. He took a controversial decision on Atlanta TV, but lost a return Lumberjack a few weeks later. This was Gordy's return to the U.S after his suspension from Superstars forced him to tour Japan. Gordy impressed overseas as he has signed for a couple of hitches in that nation. . . Dallas also saw another former Superstars talent, the former N.A titleholder Johnny Valentine. The big elbow smashed his way to win over some local talent, but has his sights set on American Champion Red Bastien. . . . Finally, since Larry Zbyszko won the U.S title over Tony Atlas in Las Vegas awhile back, he has impressed. Larry Legend uses his cagey tactics to gain wins over a variety of opponents: Atlas, Patriot, Dave Taylor and Danny Hodge among others. None of these challengers gave him much trouble as Larry outhinks the competition, but recently he did drop a DQ decision to the tough Irishman - Finlay. These two have battled a few other times and Zbyszko was put to the test here in some exciting, classic matches. This version of the U.S title is recognized by promoters through the Midwest and Western parts of the country. Even with his stalling tactics, Zbyszko is a fighting champion.

Tennis Pro DQ over DDP
Cruiserweight Triangle Elimination Match: Arizona Chance defeated Sam Houston and DangerZone 1. Houston pinned Dangerzone with a death jump cross body 2. Arizona used the LAST CRUSADE over Houston to win the challenge
NOTES: A tennis racket figured into two matches - First, Ricky Morton snagged Cornette's Racket to use on the Midnights, forcing a DQ. This epic encounter lasted over 1/2 the first episode. DDP was another tennis racket victim where he used Tennis Pro's racket in retaliation. Some ringsiders have asked for a "Racket on a Pole Match", but who should sign on? . . .
Tully Blanchard picked up where he left off at King of the Ring and notched a win over Magnum TA, albeit over shady means. JJ Dillon was instrumental in distracting Magnum outside the ring then Blanchard slammed him into a table and used a SLINGSHOT SUPLEX to get the pin. Magnum was furious on dropping two straight decisions on account of Dillon! . . . Besides the four-corners elimination Dream Match some key solo bouts are lined up for the next card in Hartford: A grudge chain match between Ivan Koloff and Jim Duggan, plus a big Texas Death Match between Harley Race and Buddy Rogers rounds out the featured singles matches. A special six man tag-team match is also in the works so stay tuned!

Superstars Road Show in Hartford, CT
Tom Prichard pinned Brad Armstrong
Sam Houston pinned Tim Donst in a Cruiserweight Challenge
Bruiser Brody beat Clinch with a Vertical Suplex
Six-Man Tag-Team, Racket on a Pole Match: Rock & Roll Express & DDP defeated Midnight Express & Tennis Pro. Jim Cornette was locked in a cage at ringside.
Chain Match: Ivan Koloff beat Jim Duggan
Four-Corners Elimination, Winner Take All: Superstars Champion Lou Thesz over Dr. Death Steve Williams, Ted Dibiase and North American Champion Randy Savage
No-Holds Barred Texas Death: Buddy Rogers over Harley Race
NOTES: Sam Houston is under consideration for a Cruiserweight title shot, but first he has to see who wins the upcoming bout between Warhawk and #1 contender Arizona Chance. . .Bruiser Brody impressed in a clash of styles with Clinch. Not surprisingly these two explosive grapplers did not drag out an ending but for the few minutes they went at it, each captured a couple of near falls. . . The Rock and Roll Express were the first to grab the racket in the big six man tage and also used a Deathjump to pin Cornette's proxy: Tennis Pro. The Pro was clearly pre-occupied with avoiding contact with his newest rival: DDP . . . Ivan Koloff dominated in the chain match and vowed to bring more honor and accolades to Mother Russia. We will see soon what he means by that statement. . .
Lou Thesz continues to dominate as champion. The eliminations for the exciting four-corners match went down like this: 1) Dibiase was DQ'd for choking Savage with Macho's title belt 2) Savage was easy prey for Dr. Death as he pinned Macho Man after a Press Slam and OKLAHOMA STAMPEDE 3) Williams was pinned after a Double Wristlock by Thesz. Dr. Death and Thesz put on a mat clinic but Thesz out maneuvered the big man and used a tricky move to gain a surprise pin in this "Winner-take-all" Dream Match. Williams arm was clearly hurt from the wristlock as he was shaking and holding the hurt limb after the bout.
Finally, Buddy Rogers edged Harley Race in their latest edition of their feud. The no-holds barred encounter was a wild and wooly affair. Race thought he had won after using a PILEDRIVER and VERTICAL SUPLEX but Rogers foot mysteriously latched onto the bottom rope. The referee was baffled if this occurred before or after the 3-count. While Race debated the ending, Rogers recovered and used a Flying Knee Smash to stun Race. An extended FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE, landed the pin for Rogers. The exciting match was marred by the bizarre finish as the fans catcalls said it all.

Wrestling News Bulletin: Harley Race has challenged Buddy Rogers to a Last-Man Standing, Loser Leaves Superstars Match. The stipulations will settle things once and for all as Race stated that there are no flukes with the Last Man Standing. Rogers has accepted the challenge as the Nature Boy says "There is not room for the both of us here." This match is scheduled for the hockey arena in Albany, NY . . . Ivan Koloff seized the opening by top contenders Rogers and Race to throw out a challenge to Champion Lou Thesz in Albany. The fighting champion happily accepted as he is taking on all comers, no matter their political or social leanings . . . Rounding out the top bill in Albany is Magnum TA challenging Tully Blanchard and his manager JJ Dillon to a handicap match. Magnum is tired of the constant interference and figures he can keep an eye on Dillon better if the manager is officially in the match. Wonder if this strategy will work? . . . Bruiser Brody faces Clinch in a rematch while a battle of Cruiserweights has newcomers Jerry Lynn and Brian Christopher facing off.
Up next is a card in New Haven, CT that has a solid lineup as Cruiserweight Champion Warhawk defending against Arizona Chance. Who will win the battle of these matinee idols? . . . A special feature is lined up for this card though as the Rock & Roll Express again challenge Superstar Champions Midnight Express with Jim Cornette. However, a special referee will get assigned to this one. The referee will get determined by a match between DDP and his rival Tennis Pro. DDP will likely call it down the middle, but the Tennis Pro is clearly in league with Cornette. Sounds like fun. . . "Macho Man" Randy Savage faces Dr. Death" Steve Williams in a grudge match with a special challenge match between Blackjack Mulligan facing Handsome Jimmy Valiant. Barry Windham will sit in the corner for Blackjack and in this installment of the family feud, Luscious Johnny will man the corner for his brother.
Wrestling News Roll Call of Champions as recognized by Superstar Pro World Champion: Lou Thesz World Tag-Team Champions: Midnight Express Cruiserweight Champion: Warhawk

Superstars event in New Haven, CT
Winner is assigned referee: DDP ran off the Tennis Pro, COR.
World Tag-Team Champions Midnight Express downed the Rock & Roll Express with DDP as referee.
Blackjack Mulligan W, DQ over Handsome Jimmy.
Barry Windham used the LARIAT to pin Luscious Johnny
Cruiserweight Champion Warhawk upended Arizona Chance
Dr. Death Steve Williams W, DQ Macho Man Randy Savage
NOTES: DDP used a Russian Leg Sweep on the floor to knock the Tennis Pro silly. This win ensure the Rock & Rolls a fair shake at the titles, but it was not in the cards. Morton almost took home the gold, reversing a death jump into a pin but the crafty Midnights kept their senses and mounted a comeback. First with the GRAVEDIGGER and then using a Flurry of Karate to pin Morton. DDP had no choice but to lay the 3-count in. DDP tried his best but will all the noise, activity at ringside who could blame him for getting overwhelmed? The Midnights looked good here. . .
Blackjack Mulligan won his match by DQ when Luscious Johnny stuck his nose in his business. Barry Windham challenged him immediately to an ad-hoc encounter and slammed him around. A set of LARIATS took the Luscious one out and then back in the ring, leading for an easy pin. Windham and his dad make for a solid team . . .
Finally, the temper of Randy Savage got the better of him losing by DQ. Williams did not wait for the ring intros and viciously attacked Savage using his new arm brace to pummel Savage. Dr. Death kept the pressure on and eventually bloodied the Macho Man. The presence of Williams partner Ted Dibiase did not cool things as Savage launched an assault on both men. The backs of Dibiase and Williams felt the steel chair swung by the Macho Man as Savage also tried to remove Williams arm brace. One has to wonder if the arm brace is a ploy by Doc or if Williams forearm was truly injured by Lou Thesz in Hartford. The way he swung this at Savage, have to wonder how "hurt" he is.

The Midnights are resilient in this title reign. The latest win and their victory over Thesz and Warhawk in a "Battle of The Belts" had a similar feel.
