Hmm. Looks like another Avengers vs. a CGI horde movie.

Hmm. Looks like another Avengers vs. a CGI horde movie. I think the movies really expose the absurdity of having street level heroes like Cap, Hawkeye, and Black Widow on the same team as the big guns like Thor, Iron Man, and the Hulk. There has to be a horde of mooks so Cap and the others have something to do. That being said, I'm pretty excited about Infinity War.

I do love the idea of Winter Soldier prepping his rifle to fight Thanos.

I know I'm in the minority, but I find the great majority of these super hero movies to be disappointing, if not corny. The characters never seem to be much like the comics, instead looking like regular old people dressed up like super heroes. They all seem forced. Thor was played by a guy who weighed 200 lbs for example. And he was one of the more believable ones.
Only ones I've ever really liked were the first Batman, the Dark Knight, The Watchmen (by far the greatest, probably because of how gritty it was), the first Iron Man...I think that's it.
Tried watching Winter Soldier after hearing good things... I made it as far as the scene where he took out the helicopter w his bare hands? Thought that was ridiculous. Maybe the problem is I was never a HUGE comic fan as a kid. I had some, but I could not tell you if any of these movies are true to the comics or not. Was Cap hurdling helicopters in the comics? I thought he was more of a regular guy vs a Superman type.
It also doesn't help that there are a million Batman, Spiderman etc..movies. They don't seem special anymore.
Anyone else feel this way or just me?

Anyone else feel this way or just me? Yeah, it's just you... But seriously, I can understand a bit of what you are saying, and there certainly are a TON of these movies now, but what I enjoy is that they are just FUN. Some are far better than others, and I must admit to not having seen any of the last few that were out of either Marvel or DC... But I can't wait for this next Avengers. I loved Dr. Strange, Cap 2 and 3, the first Iron Man, Ant Man, Homecoming, and Guardians of the Galaxy (Haven't seen part 2 yet). All of the rest of the marvel movies were at least very watchable. So, overall I am enjoying all of it. I was a HUGE comics fan as a kid, though, so that probably has a lot to do with it.

I need to watch Guardians. The boy is getting a pack of Guardian action figures for Christmas...he loves his imaginext super hero toys, so maybe I'll get into the movies more as he gets into them.
I'm a huge Star Wars fan, so there's that at least.
Heard Homecoming was good too. Maybe no Toby McGuire will help lool I'll have to check it out.

Anyone else feel this way or just me? Yeah it's just you.... I think that is the problem, as I've been a HUGE comic fan since I was a kid and have been waiting on these movies for a lifetime. I don't own many anymore but the one I have hung onto all these years is Incredible Hulk #181. True comic fans will know the significance of this book, without googling it. Captain America The Winter Soldier is my favorite, mainly because how in your face it is about society just replacing the Deep State with Hydra. Best and most true line ever... "We just created a world so chaotic that people would gladly trade their freedom for security." Also the helicopter scene is in Civil War, not Winter Soldier. He just tried to keep it from taking off and didn't 'toss' it around, but Cap is a super soldier...

I've not been totally enchanted with Marvel..some are really good, some are okay, a few just never clicked with me at all.
