Would also like to take the time to note that Chris Jericho carried the match against Kenny Omega and still couldn't stop Omega from doing stupid shit that undermined the whole idea of this match being a personal issue and blood feud. Some guys just don't get it. Kenny is clearly one of them. It's a shame because he's athletically gifted and can have exciting matches.

As soon as Omega came out carrying that stupid fake gun it took me out of the match. No matter how much Jericho did i had a hard time getting back into the match.

The cold spray spot was what killed it for me. That was some stupid shit Omega did when he was a goofy junior heavyweight and I hated it then. You don't do comedy spots in a match like that.

I had Omega and Okada winning going in. Naito is incredible, but Okada is special. Truly a legend in the making. Great to see Tanahashi retain, too. The problem with Okada is that he's had a year and a half with the title and, minus a defense against Kota Ibushi, has cleaned out every legitimate challenger they have. Sometimes title reigns can go too long. Naito is the biggest merch seller in the company and regularly gets the loudest reactions of anyone on the roster. But now they get to rehash the Tanahashi/Nakamura and Okada/Tanahashi angle where it takes the guy three times to win the big one at the Tokyo Dome. The only problem is when they run this match back next year, it's not gonna draw just under 35k paid. They blew it. I'm sure Naito will still get cheers and sell merch. I can't wait for Okada vs Omega III. Naito is cool but he's no Omega, Okada or Tanahashi.

Considering how good many people think Kenny Omega is he certainly seemed out of his element. Im starting to think that maybe Okada was carrying Omega to those awesome matches they've had.

He's the guy who showed what Okada was capable of in 2012, the guy who showed that Omega really belonged in the main event scene in the 2016 G1 and the guy who got in all likelihood the last super high end matches out of Tanahashi. If someone in WWE got so hot it lead to WrestleMania doing significantly better business than the year before and they got jobbed out to Roman or Cena, people would complain.

Nah, Kenny wasn't carried. Those matches were athletic showcases. That's his wheelhouse. A hate filled hardcore match is not.

I guess I mean Okada vs Omega for the belt a 3rd time. Omega deserves it. Maybe then Naito takes it off of him then later defends vs Okada. That's what I'd like to see.

I just think this shows that Omega is a great athlete and a great worker but not the all around great wrestler that everyone thinks. Atleast not yet.

His next incarnation comes when he finally wins the belt. As for the comedy stuff. I mark for it. It's part of his character that made me a fan to begin with. Hell, I mark out when he used his spray can mechanic on his card. He's like Jericho before Jericho was undisputed champ. I think that's why Jericho likes him so much. Reminds him of himself.
