FTR: Evolution Flashback to Two Years ago Encubus comes down the ramp to address the 22 wrestlers and 7 coaches sitting in folding chairs, in the audience. Commissioner Encubus: I want to start off by welcoming every one of you today. You are the first of a brand-new program with the GWF, to help wrestlers develop into future stars for the company. We are starting up a new brand called FTR, with a brand-new show called Evolution. Some of you are brand new talent that we hope to develop and hone your skills, into something big. Others of you are veterans of the business and have been wrestling in the GWFz, and we need your help to give your experience to the younger guys. Exchange, we will offer you a starting contract, use of our state of the art training center, and use of our coaches. This is a partnership to that we are asking each and every one of you to take with us. Let me, introduce to you are the coaches and staff here at the training center. Coaches would you come up here with me? We have Star Warrior, who will be coaching the baby faces and how to get the cheers of the crowd. Next, we have Thantos, who will be coaching the heels and how to get the crowd to hate you. Prodigy will be helping those of you, who want to agility based wrestlers in the ring. While, Pegasus will be helping those power based wrestlers in the ring. Swarm will be helping with his basics class for those of you new to wrestling. We have Bloodline, who will be the promo coach, helping you to develop your promo skills in front of the crowd and behind the camera. Then we have one of the greatest wrestlers in the last sixteen years Endgame. He will be helping in an advance class on how to tell a story in the ring and developing your abilities to read the crowd. Let's talk about the vision I have for the tag team division! We are going to have five tag teams. The first team is going to be called Mad Max, Electric Axe and Totally Awesome. Then, we have The Natives, Ygorr and Kudd. King Tux and Chilly Fu, you are going to be called Penguins on Ice. Swerve, we are putting you with Manic. You two will be an over the top tag-team, called Villains Inc. Astro Turk, you and Blackhole Bart are going to help develop our tag team division. So, we need you to work closely with these teams and give them some of your experience. We want to have twelve wrestlers competing for the singles division. We are going to use the heroes vs. villain concept in our show. So, let's introduce our Heroes team. Blue Chip, you are our amateur wrestling champion. Faller. you are going to be our Lumberjack. Astarte, we are going to have you going up against our villain team of Disciple of Terror and Mass, who are the remaining followers of Doomsayer. Moonlight, you are the only woman wrestler here and we are going to have you fighting against the men! Your one tough woman who has come to kick ass. Now, Ram Jam and Stryker, I need you to help the younger guys out and the development of the Villains. Now, the Villain team! Disciple of Terror, you and Mass are going to be a team that has formed to give tribute to Doomsayer. Mayham, you are going to dress up like Mayhem and mock the Aethrans. Vacent, you are the son of Cannibal, are going to have the same struggles that your father had. Virus, you are the space bounty hunter, and I need you to help develop the heroes. Finally, Captain Crossbones we are going have you be the loner, who wrestles both heroes and villains. Writer's note: I'm planning to do a mixture of flashbacks/behind the scenes of FTR and normal FTR: Evolution Show action with pay-per-views. I want to try something different.

Today Commissioner Encubus and all the coaches are sitting around a table in one of the board rooms for a meeting to discuss talent and show direction. Encubus: Thank you, for coming today. There are sandwiches in the center of the table, so help yourselves to them. Where are we at with most of the wrestlers at this point? Are we ready to start the show? Swarm: For the most part, all of them have the ability to put on a descent match skill wise. Murtak is the only one I’m concerned about. We had the hardest time getting his cardio to where he wasn’t blowing up every other move. I would say he could put on a 5 to 6-minute match, but don’t expect anything longer than that. Pegasus: I must agree with Swarm on Murtak’s in-ring abilities, so I have him on more power moves. Both, Mass and Mayham are good to go with their power game. Star Warrior: I think our two main baby faces are going to be Astarte and Blue Chip, with Faller behind them. I have been working with my son, on their promo skills. Encubus: And how are the Villains coming? Thantos: Our main heels are going to have to be Disciple of Terror, Mayham and, I would like to get Crossbones as well… But Endgame and I are having so disagreements over Crossbones. Endgame: I just think that Crossbones needs to be treated as a special attraction and slowly build him up. I have something in mind for Crossbones and if you trust me with him, I will build him into a superstar. Encubus: Okay, Endgame. I will let you develop his character and work with him one on one. But, I would like a write up of where you plan to take him over the next six months. Endgame: It will be on your desk by the morning. Encubus: Great! Now, we need to talk about the direction of our title belts. How do we want to do them? Normally, in the history of wrestling…. We have always held tournaments on the first couple of shows to crown a title holder. But, I want to do something different… something that will catch the eye of wrestling fans. Any suggestions? Prodigy: Instead of doing the boring same on single man tournaments, we can do gauntlet style match and the winner is crowned the champion for both singles and tag teams. Encubus: Now, that’s something that hasn’t been done before… I like it! So, on the first show we will start out crowning new tag team champions… Endgame: Wait, on sec…. What is the one problem with crowning champions in the first couple of shows? The fans don’t have time to get invested in the characters. They don’t know these characters, because we haven’t given them time to care why to cheer on the baby face who wins or boo the heel who cheated to win the title. Encubus: Go on… Endgame: I just think it would be better if we just build up the characters first, before we start putting titles on people and aliens alike. Star Warrior: You know that is a great point, Endgame. Encubus: I think that is a great idea… You, know that I may play the commissioner part, but I need each and everyone of you, if we are going to make this brand a success. Everyone, at this table has made a name for themselves in this business and together we have knowledge to help make the next stars.

You had me at Blackhole Bart and Astro Turk. Love this idea! Thanks Shane Sullivan! Our friend and my brother from another mother Pariah, suggested using flashbacks to help tell the behind the camera scenes of what I wanted to do. I knew that no one on the forums uses that type of writing style, so I knew that would be perfect for what I wanted to do. So, big props to Pariah! I wanted to keep the roster at about 12 single wrestlers and 5 tag teams. But, I love having the option of bring in down grades from GWFz, GWF low card wrestlers. I hope I can inspire others to get creative with their FTR feds. I wanted to use Meteor Storm, as veterans for the tag team division to help train the younger guys.

Best storyline involving Meteor Storm I've ever read belongs to throwingtoasters , who had them pick the Wargames tag belts out of the trash after Wargames ended, and declared themselves champs lol. I appreciate when promoters take otherwise lowly characters and write successful storylines for them. This fed is another good example of that. It's outstanding to see fans excited about FTR.

You, know that in FTR Meteor Storm has a shot at winning the tag titles. I ran some simulations and they beat The Natives and Mad Max, so anything is possible. That is a cool angle/storyline to run. That's one thing I want to do here is take the lowly characters and try to get them over. I have been watching a lot of the old 80s WWF stuff on the Network, to see what really brings the heat on heels to learn from them. Hot Rod could really bring the heat on himself, like no one really could.
