Taylor wins quickly with the British Suplex. He is then joined by Tony Schiavone in the ring:
Schiavone: “Another impressive performance here for David Taylor, who I’m told has a big announcement to make tonight! David?”
Taylor: “That’s right, Tony, I have a VERY big announcement to make! I mentioned months ago that an old partner of mine was coming to WCW, and tonight’s the night! He and I are going to run the tag team division here in WCW! I haven’t even seen him or talked to him yet, as I wanted our reunion to be in front of these fans here in attendance, as well as the rest of the world watching at home! Ladies and gentlemen, I give you ‘Lord’ Steven Regal!”
The curtain opens and out steps... ‘Mr. Electricity’ Steve Regal?
Taylor: “Who the hell is that?”
Schiavone: “Well, that’s your new partner, Steve Regal!”
Taylor: “That is NOT Steven Regal!”
Schiavone: “Right. It’s STEVE Regal...”
An angry Taylor storms off up the ramp, stomping right by a very confused looking Steve Regal.

Disco Inferno vs. Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake
Beefcake won a quick one with the Sleeper.

The Quebecers (Jacques Rougeau and Pierre Carl Oulett) vs. Bruiser Brody and Stan Hansen
The Quebecers came out and made an open challenge to anyone on the roster to come out and face them, but were shocked by the team of Brody and Hansen answering the challenge! The Quebecers looked extremely worried while Brody shouted into a microphone: “Brody and Hansen might have other things going on, like challenging Buddy Rogers for the U.S. Title or fighting Sullivan’s Army of Darkness, but we’re sure as hell not going to listen to these two idiots act like they’re the best tag team around!” Brody and Hansen hit the ring and we have an impromptu match! Brody and Hansen dominated the two Canadians until “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers and his manager, Melina, came to the ring. They taunted Hansen until he jumped from the ring apron and chased Rogers to the back! Brody looked confused as his partner ran off, but was brought back to reality by being double teamed by the Quebecers! Brody fought valiantly, but the numbers game was too much. Oulett pinned Brody after the Tower of Quebec!

Jerry Brisco vs. “Superfly” Jimmy Snuka w/“Taskmaster” Kevin Sullivan
Brisco won by DQ when Sullivan and his Golden Spike got involved. This brought out Jerry’s brother, Jack, which brought out Terry Gordy! The Brisco Brothers locked into a stare down with the Army of Darkness! The locker rooms emptied and all four men were separated. Tony Schiavone then announced that, as a result of the Briscoes winning the tag team gauntlet match at Bash at the Beach, they will get their title shot at the AOD at World War 3!

Champion Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon vs. Brian Christopher
Blanchard won a quick one with the Slingshot Suplex.

Nick Bockwinkel w/Bobby Heenan and “The Living Legend” Larry Zbyszko vs. The Crusher and “Fabulous” Jackie Fargo
Crusher made Zbyszko tap to the stomach claw. An angry Heenan and Bockwinkel left Zbyszko in the ring. At the studio stage, we see Tony Schiavone with “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig.
Schiavone: “Folks, I’m here with ‘Mr. Perfect’ Curt Hennig, and I understand he’s got a big announcement for us here tonight. Curt?”
Hennig: “That’s right, Tony. I’m here to officially announce that I am challenging Bryan Danielson for his WCW World Heavyweight Championship at World War 3! I want to...” He is interrupted by Danielson’s manager, JJ Dillon.
Dillon: “Now just hold on right there, Hennig. You don’t just get to come out here and make yourself #1 contender and challenge for the World Title! There’s a whole championship committee that decides who the next challenger will be. And you, ‘Mr. Perfect,’ have a long way to go before you’re challenger material. In fact, why don’t you take on another member of my stable here tonight, and if by some chance you get by him, you can possibly be considered?” With that, we have another unscheduled match, as Hennig nods and hits the ring in his street clothes and a smiling Dillon brings Butcher Vachon out to the ring!

“Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig vs. Butcher Vachon w/JJ Dillon
Butcher won with a big splash in what can only be considered controversial. Butcher’s brother, Mad Dog Vachon came to ringside, distracting Hennig. As the ref’s attention was on ejecting Mad Dog, Dillon delivered a vicious chair shot to Hennig. Butcher hit the splash and made the cover for the 1-2-3 from the returning ref. Dillon stood over Hennig and said “Sorry, pal. Just not good enough.”

The Bee wins his first match back after the brutal beat down from Alexis Smirnoff weeks ago, beating South with the High Flying Dropkick. After the bell, the Killer Bee told Tony Schiavone he was challenging Smirnoff to a match at World War 3!

“The British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith vs. Jake “Milkman” Milliman
The Bulldog has bounced back nicely from his loss to Tully Blanchard, beating Milliman in 3 moves with the Running Power Slam! Not to be outdone by the Killer Bee, he then challenges Tully Blanchard to a rematch for his WCW TV Title at World War 3!

The Flying Redheads vs. David Taylor and Steve Regal
The night of quick matches continues as Lyons beats Regal in seconds with the Figure Four Leglock. Taylor leaves his “partner” in the ring in disgust.

Blanchard won with the Slingshot Suplex.

Dillon gave Hennig another shot at getting a title shot at Bryan Danielson by first beating one of his stablemates, but again, the deck was stacked against Hennig. Mad Dog wins with a Piledriver after Dillon threw an unknown substance into Hennig’s eyes.

Muertes pinned Hansen after a dominant performance with a choke slam. With that, Muertes now holds victories over both Bruiser Brody and Stan Hansen!

Bob pinned Regal after a Jawjacker. Taylor never even tagged into the match.

Magnum TA vs. “Exotic” Adrian Street w/Miss Linda
Street wins a shocker with a vertical suplex. Magnum asks for a rematch.

“The Billion Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase w/Mr. Hughes vs. Brian Christopher
DiBiase won quickly with the Billion Dollar Dream, after which he shoved a $100 bill into Christopher’s mouth. He then asked for a mic, and brought out “The Living Legend” Larry Zbyszko, “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers and Melina, the Heenan Family, and Dillon Enterprises. The ring quickly filled up with DiBiase, Hughes, Zbyszko, Rogers, Melina, Heenan, Bockwinkel, Ray Stevens, Tom Prichard, JJ Dillon, Bryan Danielson, Tully Blanchard, and the Vachon Brothers! DiBiase then announced what they’ve been up to the last few months:
DiBiase: “You see here the most dominant collection of professional wrestlers in history, my new Corporation! Technical wrestlers, brawlers, submission wrestlers, hardcore wrestlers-no one can compete with this new Corporation. But most importantly, no one can compete with these wrestling minds! Between Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan, JJ Dillon, Melina, Nick Bockwinkel, Buddy Rogers, and the rest of the brains that’s about as great a collection of devious wrestling minds that’s ever been assembled. And with all of them being focused by ‘The Billion Dollar Man,’ we will be unstoppable and rule the wrestling world! We already have the WCW World Heavyweight Champion, the U.S. Champion, and the TV Champion in the Corporation, and it won’t be long until we add more championships! There’s one problem. There’s not enough titles to go around and we’re going to get in each other’s way. That’s why, with my financial backing, we’re going to bring back the AWA! The Heenan Family and other members of the Billion Dollar Corporation will be going to Minnesota to rule that federation while the rest of us will stay here and rule the WCW, and eventually the entire NWA! Now, as” DiBiase is interrupted as WCW GM Teddy Long steps out from behind the curtain.

Long: “Now hold it right there, playa. You can all form whatever alliance you want; I can’t stop that. And I have no power over whatever you all decide to do in this AWA revival. But what I can control is the WCW, and I’ve got a few announcements of my own to make! We’re only a little over a week away from our next PPV, World War 3, and I’m about to make some matches! First of all, my TV Champion, Mr. Tully Blanchard: you will be facing the former champion, ‘The British Bulldog’ Davey Boy Smith! And it will be in an ‘I Quit’ Match! And you, Mr. U.S. Champion, ‘Nature Boy’ Buddy Rogers-at World War 3, you will be once again facing Stan Hansen, but it will be in a Steel Cage Match! And now, the World Champion, Bryan Danielson. Don’t think I haven’t seen the way you and your manager, JJ Dillon, have screwed Curt Hennig in all his matches against your stablemates. So tonight, in this very ring, you will face him yourself in a nontitle match! And if he wins, he will get his title shot at WW3 in a 2/3 Falls Match! And if anyone, and I mean anyone, interferes on your behalf, Mr. Danielson, I will strip you of that title! And the rest of you? Well, you’ll all be competing in a 60-Man, three ring battle royal for a future shot at the world title. Oh, and gentlemen? I do mean ‘all’ of you. Mr. Heenan, Mr. Dillon, better pack your boots and trunks for WW3, because you’ll be in one of those rings as well!”
The new Corporation looks irate as Long has really stolen their thunder tonight.

Fargo pinned Prichard after a flying bodyblock from the top.

Mil Muertes w/“Taskmaster” Kevin Sullivan vs. Bruiser Brody
Muertes definitely has Brody’s number, pinning him after three straight Flatliners. After the bell, Muertes continues his attack until Stan Hansen chases him off. The damage is done, however, and Brody is injured for one card.

Non-Title Match; If Hennig wins, he gets title shot at World War 3
WCW World Heavyweight Champion “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson vs. “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig
Without the benefit of the help of any members of Dillon’s stable, Danielson did not fare nearly as well as his stablemates have the last two weeks. He seemed on his back foot the entire match and never really got into a groove. Mr. Perfect, however, showed up for a fight and beat the champ, pinning him with the Perfect Plex! Hennig gets his world title shot at World War 3 in a 2/3 Falls Match!

Windham sets up for a second SWEETWATER SUPLEX.Johnny low blow to take control.Once back in the ring Johnny hits the ATOMIC SKULLCRUSHER but Windham gets the shoulder up.Greg tags in.Windham and Greg battle all the way into the parking lot.Windham with a hip toss into a windshield ! Once back in the ring Barry hits the SWEETWATER SUPLEX to Greg.ROCK RIDDLE hits the ring. Barry wins the ensuing brawl and he throws Riddle out of the ring.Windhm hits the LARIAT on Greg for the pin.

The NWA presents WCW Saturday Night!!

Too Cool (Scotty 2 Hotty and Brian Christopher) vs. The Bolsheviks (Nikolai Volkoff and Boris Zhukov) w/Alexis Smirnoff
Too Cool got off to a hot start, hitting multiple finishers on Zhukov, but just couldn’t put the big Russian away. Once Volkoff tagged in, he put a stop to Too Cool’s momentum. Volkoff pinned Christopher after a Backbreaker Drop.

“The British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith vs. Jake “Milkman” Milliman
Davey Boy won handily with the Running Power Slam. He then told Tony Schiavone in a quick interview that this was what he was going to do to Tully Blanchard tomorrow night at World War 3 until he says “I Quit” to regain the TV Title!

Magnum TA vs. “Exotic” Adrian Street
This rematch was made after Street won last week in what can only be considered an upset. Street shocked everyone and won again, making Magnum submit to the London Bridge Leglock. Magnum looked shocked and somewhat dejected.

WCW TV Title Match
Champion Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon vs. Brad Armstrong
Armstrong came within an inch of taking Blanchard’s title, but Blanchard rallied and pinned him after a Slingshot Suplex.

Bruiser Brody and the Brisco Brothers vs. The Army of Darkness (Mil Muertes, Jimmy Snuka, and Terry Gordy) w/“Taskmaster” Kevin Sullivan
Despite the efforts of the Brisco Brothers to make this a wrestling match, this was a brawl from the word go. The AOD isolated Jerry Brisco and nearly put him away several times, but he managed to survive and tag out. In the end of a chaotic fight, Brody pinned Gordy after a Jumping Knee Drop.

“The Lariat” Stan Hansen and “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig vs. “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers w/Melina and “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson w/JJ Dillon
The second of two tag matches that made up the main event leading into World War 3 picked up right where the last one left off. In what may be foreshadowing for tomorrow night’s U.S. Title match, Rogers made Hansen submit to the Figure Four Grapevine.

WCW and the NWA presents WCW World War 3!!

WCW TV Title “I Quit” Match
Champion Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon vs. “The British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith
Blanchard won with a foreign object, but since this was an I Quit Match, it was completely legal, if not a little brutal. Blanchard trapped the Bulldog’s arm in a folding chair and wrenched it back until Smith had no choice but to say those two words.

WCW U.S. Championship Steel Cage Match
Champion “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers vs. Stan “The Lariat” Hansen
Rogers played the chicken heel in this one, refusing to lock up, taking a powder multiple times, hiding behind Melina, etc. Eventually he tried to wrestle Hansen, but by this point, Hansen’s blood was boiling and he wasn’t looking to wrestle, he was looking to fight. Hansen won a bloodbath with a Lariat. New U.S. Champion!

WCW World Tag Team Championship Match
Champions The Army of Darkness (Jimmy Snuka and Terry Gordy)w/“Taskmaster” Kevin Sullivan vs. The Brisco Brothers
Match of the night! A total of 18 tokens were given out in this match! Snuka pinned Jerry after a piledriver.

WCW World Heavyweight Championship Match
Champion “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson w/JJ Dillon vs. “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig
Hennig came out of the gate hot, pinning the champ with the Perfect Plex 12 minutes into the match! Hennig’s real misstep was pushing for a 2/3 Falls Match, as this would’ve won him the title. Instead, the seemingly unbeatable Danielson rallied back and won the second and third falls to retain. Danielson won the second fall with a Dragon Suplex and the third and deciding fall with the Cattle Mutilation. Who can take the title from the American Dragon!?

This match was pure chaos, starting with 20 men in each ring. When it got down to a manageable 10 total men, they all moved to the center ring. These ten men, shockingly, were:

That quickly degenerated to the final three, Buddy Rogers, Nick Bockwinkel, and again, shockingly, Disco Inferno. Disco somehow eliminated Bockwinkel but was dumped out by the winner, “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers! Buddy Rogers wins World War 3 and a future title shot!
