The NWA presents WCW Saturday Night!!
The show begins with WCW GM Teddy Long in the ring: “Welcome to a new chapter in WCW! Tonight marks a change here as not only have several wrestlers left to go form the new AWA, but I have personally searched high and low to bring in new talent! You’ll be seeing some of those new faces tonight, and some over the coming weeks! Let’s take it to the ring with a WCW TV Title Match!”
WCW TV Title Match
Champion Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon vs. Jerry Brisco
What a match to kick off this new phase of WCW! Jerry pushed the TV champion to his limits, but Blanchard won after hitting Brisco with a foreign object. Blanchard slipped the knucks back to JJ and made the cover. After the bell, Jerry’s brother Jack hit the ring to check on his brother and to tell the ref what had happened. Blanchard was hot at Jack and tried to sucker punch him, but Jack was ready and blocked the blow and dropkicked Tully out of the ring! JJ tried to get involved, but Jack knocked him to the mat and applied the Figure Four Leglock! This brought out Dillon’s other man, WCW World Heavyweight Champion Bryan Danielson, and a brawl almost occurred, until Jerry restrained Jack, while Dillon and Blanchard did the same with Danielson. GM Teddy Long came back out and said “Since you all like to fight so much, you can do it again tonight...in a tag team match!”
“Cowboy” Johnny Mantell vs. The Spoiler w/“Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert
The Spoiler wins his WCW singles debut, pinning Mantell after a rope-walk smash, but the real story here is the arrival of “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert and his stable Hot Stuff International. Gilbert promises that he and his stable will be taking over WCW and the Spoiler is just the tip of the iceberg...
Juventud Guerrera vs. Konnan
These two luchadores also make their WCW debuts, flying all over the ring, but Juventud got the win with the Air Juvi. After the match, a returning “Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff came to the ring and demanded a match with Alexis Smirnoff, who came out from behind the backstage curtain and told Koloff he’d get his match IF he can get past Boris Zhukov tonight and Nikolai Volkoff next week!
“The British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith vs. Pierre Carl Oullett w/“Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert
Davey Boy won with the Running Power Slam. After the bell, Oullett’s partner, Jacques Rougeau, jumped Smith and both men beat down the Bulldog, while Gilbert directed traffic.
“The Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff vs. Boris Zhukov
Koloff won in seconds with the Russian Sickle. Koloff grabbed a mic: “One down and two to go!” as the fans cheered this unlikely hero.
Mil Muertes w/Kevin Sullivan and “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers w/Melina vs. WCW U.S. Champion “The Lariat” Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody
This match combined two existing feuds into a tag match and it was chaos from the bell. In the end, the heels win when Brody gets DQ’d for shoving the ref when he tried to break up a brawl.
The Brisco Brothers vs. WCW World Heavyweight Champion “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson and WCW TV Champion Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon
This match went back and forth with the bulk of the match seeing Danielson and Blanchard trying to isolate Jerry, but the end came when Jerry made the hot tag! In shocking fashion, Jack made Danielson tap to the Figure Four Leglock to end the show!

Jack won handily with the gut wrench backbreaker. He then got on the mic and challenged WCW World Heavyweight Champion Bryan Danielson to a title match at Halloween Havoc!

Champion Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon vs. Vampiro
Another man making his WCW singles debut, Vampiro shocked the world, pinning the champion after a power bomb to become the new TV Champion!
Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake vs. Doug Gilbert w/“Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert
Beefcake won with a piledriver, but that victory came with a price, as Eddie Gilbert jumped him after the bell, and both Gilbert brothers double teamed Beefcake.
“The Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff vs. Nikolai Volkoff w/Alexis Smirnoff
Koloff wins with the Russian Sickle. Koloff looked into the camera and said “That’s two! Volkoff and Zhukov down, Alexis Smirnoff: you’re next!”
WCW U.S. Title Match
Champion “The Lariat” Stan Hansen vs. “The Billion Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase
Another title change! DiBiase wore down Hansen’s neck with clothesines, vertical suplexes, and gut wrench suplexes before locking in the Billion Dollar Dream! Hansen lost consciousness in the hold, giving DiBiase the win and the title!

Hillbilly Jim vs. Disco Inferno
Jim wins by submission with the Bear Hug. After the bell, Disco interrupted Jim’s square dancing celebration with his disco moves! Jim smiled and acted like he was giving Disco the floor, but as soon as Disco started dancing, Jim threw him over the top rope to the arena floor!
Gordon Solie comes to the ring with a microphone and introduces one of the newest additions to the WCW, “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert! Gilbert comes to the ring with his entourage, Hot Stuff International (The Spoiler, Doug Gilbert, and the Quebecers). Gilbert explains that his organization is poised to take over the WCW, and eventually, the NWA, especially after his latest signing, and he introduces none other than Killer Kowalski! Kowalski comes to the ring as a quiet falls over the audience and immediately challenges Brutus Beefcake, who defeated his stablemate Doug Gilbert last week! Beefcake comes to the ring and we have an impromptu match!
Killer Kowalski w/“Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert vs. Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake
Kowalski brutalized Beefcake, who never really got in any offense, pinning him after a Bombs Away knee drop. Kowalski looks like an unstoppable monster.

Champion Vampiro vs. Brad Armstrong
Vampiro won his first defense with the Nail in the Coffin. JJ Dillon and Tully Blanchard come to the ring and announce that Blanchard is exercising his rematch clause, and is challenging Vampiro to a rematch at Halloween Havoc!

Brisco won by DQ when Blanchard hit him with a foreign object.

Smith beat a Quebecer for the second week in a row, and for the second week in a row, was jumped afterwards. Gilbert challenges Davey Boy to a tag team match against his Quebecers at Halloween Havoc, if he “can manage to find a partner.”

Disco Inferno vs. Hillbilly Jim
Disco wins a slight upset by countout after a swinging neckbreaker on the arena floor! Jim looks angry when he recovers, and heads after Disco! We go backstage where we see “The Lariat” Stan Hansen brawling with Ted DiBiase’s bodyguard, Mr. Hughes! Hansen hits a brutal Lariat on Hughes, laying him out. He then says “Now it’s a one on one match!”
The Bolsheviks (Alexis Smirnoff, Nikolai Volkoff and Boris Zhukov) vs. “The Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff, The Patriot and Ranger Ross
Koloff introduced his partners for this match, two men naturally opposed to the Russians, Ranger Ross and The Patriot! The Patriot pinned Volkoff after the Uncle Slam. After the bell, Koloff gets a mic: “Smirnoff! My partners and I have beaten your team! That means I get you in a one-on-one match! And Smirnoff, I challenge you to a Russian Chain Match at Fall Brawl!” Smirnoff looks as though he’s seen a ghost as the Bolsheviks pull him away.
Killer Kowalski w/“Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert vs. Jerry Brisco
Kowalski overpowered his much smaller opponent and won by submission with the Kowalski Claw. Gilbert then demanded a shot for his man at any title in WCW!
WCW TV Title No DQ Match
Champion Vampiro vs. Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon
This match quickly degenerated into a brawl, spilling onto the arena floor. This would normally play to Vampiro’s strengths, but JJ Dillon made the difference. Since this was a Mo DQ match, Dillon openly slipped Blanchard a pair of knucks, that he used to lay Vampiro out. Tully followed up with a Slingshot Suplex and regained the Television Title to start his third reign!
The Quebecers w/“Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert vs. Davey Boy Smith and ?
Davey Boy arrived with his “surprise” partner, The Dynamite Kid! The newly reformed British Bulldogs won their WCW debut, when Dynamite pinned Oullett after a Diving Headbutt.
Steel Cage Match
Bruiser Brody vs. Mil Muertes w/“Taskmaster” Kevin Sullivan
Brody defeated the man from Beyond the Grave, but it took four Jumping Knee Drops to do it! Hopefully this will put this rivalry to rest once and for all.
WCW U.S. Title Match
Champion “The Billion Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase w/Mr. Hughes vs. “The Lariat” Stan Hansen
Hansen hit the ring a house on fire, bouncing The Billion Dollar Man all over the ring, taking advantage of the absence of DiBiase’s bodyguard, Mr. Hughes. Late in the match, with the battle going on outside the ring, DiBiase gets the referee’s attention while a man from the crowd hits Hansen with a chair! Hansen is laid out, and cannot answer the ten count! DiBiase retains, winning by countout, but the real story is the arrival of DiBiase’s new bodyguard, Virgil! A recovering Mr. Hughes comes to ringside and he and Virgil beat down Hansen, until Brody, the Briscoes, and Hillbilly Jim chase off DiBiase and his entourage!
WCW World Tag Team Championship Match

The AOD issued an open challenge for tonight, willing to take on anyone for the tag belts. Shockingly, it was The Long Island Express! Cardona and Myers fought valiantly, but the AOD was just too much for them. Snuka pinned Myers after the Eternal Darkness. Who will ever beat these monsters?
WCW GM Teddy Long comes to the ring and introduces the man that will be behind the scenes running the newest NWA territory, the AWA, Verne Gagne! Gagne announces that their first card will be held on Wednesday, October 31, Halloween night! And this won’t be just any card, it will be a 16-Man tournament for the AWA Heavyweight Championship! As a preview for what we can expect with the AWA, here is match featuring some of the biggest stars of the AWA!
Nick Bockwinkel and the Blonde Bombers (“Crippler” Ray Stevens and Dr. Tom Prichard) w/Bobby “The Brain” Heenan vs. “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig, the Crusher, and “Fabulous” Jackie Fargo
This was a fun match where all six men (seven, including Heenan) saw action. The match ended with Hennig pinning Prichard with a Perfect Plex!
WCW World Heavyweight Championship Match
Champion “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson w/JJ Dillon vs. Jack Brisco
Match of the Year candidate! Before the match started, Danielson sent Dillon to the back, saying he needed to do this one himself. Dillon was not happy about it, but he left. This may have made the difference, as Brisco got Danielson to submit to the Figure Four Leglock at the 44 minute mark, finally ending the dominant 6-month reign of the American Dragon! Brisco celebrated in the ring with his brother Jerry, the British Bulldogs, Hillbilly Jim, the Patriot, Ranger Ross, and other fan favorites!

LORD ALFRED HAYES comes out and he announces that this Saturday will be the first ever SATURDAY NIGHTS MAIN EVENT ! SHANE DOUGLAS will take on BOBO BRAZIL.JERRY LYNN will face "HACKSAW" JIM DUGGAN.THE FANTASTICS will square off with the PITBULLS.STEVE CORINO will battle the MASKED SUPERSTAR.In the main event "MACHO MAN" RANDY SAVAGE will take on the challenge of KING KONG BUNDY !
LARRY HENNIG W/ HARLEY RACE VS THE SANDMAN W/ JUSTIN CREDIBLE
The action goes back and forth for a long time.Hennig elbow drop on Sandman for a 2 count.Hennig applies the bear hug.CREDIBLE rolls into the ring and he drills Larry with his SINGAPORE CANE !NO DQ ! Credible then slides chair into the ring.Sandman with a DDT on the chair and he pins Hennig.

THE TEXAS HANGMEN VS BARRY WINDHAM & BLACKJACK MULLIGAN
Windham suplex on Killer 2 count.Windham then hits the SWEETWATER SUPLEX.AL SNOW storms to the ring.Windham sees Snow coming and he wins the ensuing brawl.Barry throws Snow over the top rope and to the floor.Windham then delivers the LARIAT to Killer for the pin.
HARLEY RACE W/ LARRY HENNIG VS JUSTIN CREDIBLE W/ THE SANDMAN
Race backbreaker to Credible 2 count.race hits the PILEDRIVER.Sandman attacks Race ! Harley delivers a forearm slug to Sandman.Race hits the back suplex on Credible for the pin.
Sandman rolls back into the ring but so does Hennig.Once again all 4 men brawl.Once again security separates the combatants.Race asks for a mic.
RACE : LORD ALFRED HAYES something needs to be done about these ECW punks.Give myself and the AXE A match against the guys and we will send them packing.
ROB VAN DAM VS LOU THESZ
Lou hits the THESZ PRESS for a 2 count.Lou second THESZ PRESS for a near fall.Thesz then hits the GRECO-ROMAN BACKDROP.MIKEY WHIPWRECK hits the ring.Whipwreck attacks Thesz.Whipwreck hits a tornado DDT ! Van Dam hits a standing moonsault.A WWF official comes from the back to call for the DQ.
BILL ALFONSO and the WWF official start fighting.While all this is going on RVD hits the Van Daminator to Thesz !Security swarms the ring as the show goes off the air.
