WCW 50 WCW Saturday Night Center Stage Atlanta, Ga Saturday, October 27, 2018
The WCW presents WCW Saturday Night!!!
Mil Muertes w/“Taskmaster” Kevin Sullivan vs. Juventud Guerrera Muertes bounces back from his loss to Bruiser Brody, pinning Juvi after the Flatliner.
The Billion Dollar Corporation (Mr. Hughes and Virgil) w/“The Billion Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase vs. the Armstrongs (Bob and Brad) The Armstrongs win by DQ when Hughes shoves the referee and continues his assault on Brad. After the dust is settled, a rematch is made for two weeks in a No DQ Match.
Disco Inferno vs. Hillbilly Jim Disco won with the Last Dance, and some help from his feet on the ropes for leverage, continuing this rivalry. After the match, Jim challenged Disco to a match at Fall Brawl, where the loser will have to perform the winner’s dance!
WCW TV Title Match Champion Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon vs. Diamond Dallas Page DDP makes his return to WCW! And he makes it in style, winning the TV Title from Blanchard with a Diamond Cutter out of nowhere!
The Spoiler w/“Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert vs. Vampiro In a nasty brawl, Vampiro came out on top, pinning the Spoiler with a flying crossbody block from the top rope.
The Bolsheviks (Nikolai Volkoff and Boris Zhukov) w/Alexis Smirnoff vs. The Patriot and Ranger Ross w/Ivan Koloff The Patriot pinned Zhukov after an Uncle Slam.
Killer Kowalski w/“Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert vs. Johnny Mantell Kowalski manhandled Mantell, finally mercifully putting him away with the Claw. Again Gilbert demanded a title shot for Kowalski before things get worse for his competition here…
The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith and the Dynamite Kid) vs. The Quebecers (Jacques Rougeau and Pierre Carl Oullett) w/“Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert The Bulldogs seemed to pick up right where they left off last week, dominating the Quebecers, but late in the match, Gilbert slipped something to Rougeau! Jacques blasted Dynamite in the face and knocked him out cold! As the ref checked on Dynamite, Jacques tossed a pair of brass knuckles from the ring and made the cover! It was an easy three count, as Dynamite was still unconscious.
After a commercial break, we come back to Gordon Solie in the ring, and he introduces the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion, “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson and his manager, JJ Dillon. Dillon indicates to Solie that he had several things to discuss tonight, the first of which was to bring out the other man he represents the now former WCW TV Champion, Tully Blanchard. As Dillon stands there with his two former champions, he states that it’s just a matter of time before Tully regains the title that is rightfully his. And speaking of titles, he introduced the team that he has just recruited that WILL be the next WCW World Tag Team Champions, The Original Midnight Express, Dennis Condrey and Randy Rose! As the fanfare died down, Danielson asked Dillon when his rematch for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship will be. Dillon informed him that there won’t be a rematch! “Since you thought you could do it without me, I assumed you’d want to do everything without me. In fact, just this morning, in my last action as your manager, I waived your rematch clause! Bryan, you’re out of Dillon Enterprises! And here comes your replacement!” On cue, out comes “The Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers and his valet, Melina! A shocked Danielson looks on as Rogers comes to the ring and shakes hands with Dillon, Blanchard, and the Midnight Express! Danielson then threateningly grabs Dillon by his jacket, which draws the ire of the rest of Dillon Enterprises! Rogers, Blanchard, and the Midnights beat down Danielson, and the show ends with Rogers placing the Figure Four Grapevine on him!

AWA #1 Wednesday October 31, 2018
The show begins with AWA founder and booker, Verne Gagne standing in the center of the ring dressed in a tuxedo. He announces that even though he was forced to go out of business many months ago, the AWA was too strong to stay down for long, and thanks to the great fans here in attendance and those watching at home, the AWA is back! He then announces that as a thank you to all those fans, the AWA is going to kick things off by crowning a champion…tonight! And to show that AWA is about in-ring action, let’s stop talking and start wrestling!
Nick Bockwinkel w/Bobby Heenan vs. Koko B. Ware In the very first AWA match, Bockwinkel won easily with a back suplex. He and Heenan then cut a promo about how Nick will be back here at the end of the night wearing that shiny new belt around his waist.
Mad Dog Vachon vs. “Fabulous” Jackie Fargo Great back and forth match, but the Mad Dog came out on top, winning with a running knee lift. After the bell, Heenan came down to the ring with his newest charge, the vicious Ox Baker!
“Cowboy” Dick Hutton vs. Ox Baker w/Bobby Heenan Hutton may have won with an Abdominal Stretch, but he definitely looked like he’d been in a fight.
“The Living Legend” Larry Zbyszko vs. The Crusher Two perennial AWA stars battled it out but only one man can move on in the tournament. The Crusher advanced with the ugliest flying elbow drop of all time.
“Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig vs. “Crippler” Ray Stevens w/Bobby Heenan Hennig won by DQ when Heenan hooked his foot from the outside. Heenan looks incensed that two of his men are already out of the tournament.
Baron Von Raschke w/Fritz Von Goering vs. Red Bastien Bastien won by DQ when Von Raschke refused to release the Claw when Bastien got to the ropes. Bastien quickly bailed out, as Von Raschke and Von Goering we’re going berserk. The Baron thought the bell sounded because Bastien submitted and argued his case to no avail.
Bob Roop vs. Danny Hodge In a minor upset, Roop advanced with a Shoulder Breaker. Roop and Hodge shook hands before and after the match.
Charlie Haas vs. Billy “Red” Lyons In another babyface battle, Lyons won with a Sleeperhold.
Round 2 Nick Bockwinkel w/Bobby Heenan vs. Mad Dog Vachon After two straight babyface matches, the fans didn’t know how to react when these two (three, counting Heenan) heels pulled every trick in the book. In the end, Bockwinkel won with a Boston Crab.
“Cowboy” Dick Hutton vs. The Crusher This was a styles clash, as Hutton tried to wrestle while the Crusher stuck to brawling. Hutton surprised everyone, making Crusher submit to his Abdominal Stretch.
“Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig vs. Red Bastien Another shocker, as a lot of people had their money on Hennig going deep into this tournament, but Bastien wins with an Atomic Drop.
Bob Roop vs. Bill “Red” Lyons Roop won with a spinning neckbreaker, ending the chances of the Flying Redheads meeting in the semifinals.
Round 3
Nick Bockwinkel w/Bobby Heenan vs. “Cowboy” Dick Hutton Some fatigue is starting to show in the competitors, but Bockwinkel didn’t let that stop him, advancing to the finals with a Piledriver.
Red Bastien vs. Bob Roop Bastien got some measure of payback for his partner, moving on to the finals with an Atomic Drop.
The Killer Bees (B. Brian Blair and “Jumping” Jim Brunzell) vs. The Long Riders (Bill and Scott Irwin) This rest match was made to give the two finalists a few extra minutes between matches, and was a classic battle of speed and agility versus size and power. The Bees held their own, but whenever it came to brawling, the Long Riders came out ahead. In the end, the real winners here wound up being Bockwinkel and Bastien, as the Bees and the Long Riders battled to a time limit draw.
2/3 Falls Final for the AWA World Heavyweight Championship Nick Bockwinkel w/Bobby Heenan vs. Red Bastien Bockwinkel won the first fall with the Bockwinkel Sleeper. Bastien won the second fall by DQ when Heenan interfered. Bockwinkel won the third and deciding fall with a nasty Piledriver out of nowhere. Bockwinkel was awarded the AWA title and celebrated with Heenan and the rest of the Heenan Family (Ray Stevens, Dr. Tom Prichard, Larry Zbyszko, and Ox Baker)!

WCW 51 WCW Saturday Night Center Stage Atlanta, Ga Saturday, November 3, 2018
The NWA presents WCW Saturday Night!
Killer Kowalski and The Spoiler w/“Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert vs. Tiger Conway and Tiger Conway Jr The Conways win their WCW debut by DQ when both Kowalski and the Spoiler applied the Claw to both men and refused to let go. Gilbert came into the ring with a mic: “This is what’s going to keep happening until someone around here starts to pay attention to my men! If they don’t get a shot at a WCW title, they’re just going to keep putting people in the hospital!” WCW GM Teddy Long came to the ring: “Look, Gilbert, there’s ways to get things done, and this isn’t it! But then again, maybe it is. I’ll tell you what: all the singles titleholders are tied up with challengers, so your two men here can face the Army of Darkness at Fall Brawl! But this offer only stands as long as there’s no more of this destruction between now and then!” Gilbert smiles, agreeing.
WCW TV Title Match Champion Diamond Dallas Page vs. Boris Zhukov DDP won quickly, putting Zhukov away with the Diamond Cutter.
The Corporation (Mr. Hughes and Virgil) w/“The Billion Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase vs. Bruiser Brody and “The Lariat” Stan Hansen DiBiase stayed far away from this one, not wanting to get roughed up by Brody and Hansen. His bodyguards were defeated handily, with Hansen pinning Virgil after a Lariat.
JJ Dillon and his new stable (“Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers, Melina, Tully Blanchard, and the Original Midnight Express) saunter to the ring. Dillon makes several demands, first of which is Blanchard’s rematch clause for “his” TV title, and then he demanded a match at Fall Brawl to showcase his new tag team, but his final demand was the bombshell. Since he no longer represented the former world champion, Bryan Danielson, who is now out of action, he was hereby triggering Rogers’ title shot that he earned by winning World War 3! WCW GM Teddy Long came to the ring and responded to Dillon’s demands. First, Blanchard will receive his return match for the TV title, but it will be in Triple Threat Match, where Diamond Dallas Page will defend against both former champions, Blanchard AND Vampiro! Second, the Original Midnight Express will have a match at Fall Brawl, against a team to be decided. And third, WCW World Heavyweight Champion Jack Brisco has agreed to face all comers for his title, so the Fall Brawl main event is set! “Oh, and fourth? Get your men ready, as Rogers and the Midnights will be wrestling in a 6-man tag team match…tonight!”
Dynamite Kid vs. Jacques Rougeau w/“Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert Dynamite had his jaw wired shut due to the heinous attack by Jacques and his brass knuckles last week, and wrestled this match against his doctor’s advice. He came out on top, as he pinned Rougeau after a tombstone piledriver, despite some interference by Gilbert.
The Patriot vs. Nikolai Volkoff w/Alexis Smirnoff The Patriot won with the Patriot Missile.
“Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers and the Original Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey and Randy Rose) w/JJ Dillon and Melina vs. The Brisco Brothers (WCW World Heavyweight Champion Jack Brisco and Jerry Brisco) and “The Raging Bull” Manny Fernandez The crowd went crazy when the Briscos came out and called out their partner, an “old friend!” The babyfaces hit the ring on fire bouncing Dillon’s men all over the ring until the ref finally got some semblance of order and the match began. This was a great competitive match, but in the end, Jack pinned Rose with a Rolling Reverse Cradle.
WCW announcers Jim Ross and Gordon Solie run down the matches set for Fall Brawl in two weeks:
The Original Midnight Express w/JJ Dillon vs ?
Loser Must Perform the Winner’s Dance Match Disco Inferno vs. Hillbilly Jim
WCW TV Title Match Champion Diamond Dallas Page vs. Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon vs. Vampiro

After the bell, a hesitant and visibly angry Disco Inferno held up his end of the bargain and square danced as Jim clapped and egged him on. Jim Ross and Gordon Solie discussed that Hackenschmidt had recently signed a WCW contract and would be seen in action soon.
Flagpole Match Patriot and Ranger Ross vs. The Bolsheviks (Nikolai Volkoff and Boris Zhukov) The Patriot pinned Volkoff after the Uncle Slam finisher. He and Ross then got to fly the American flag as the crowd chanted “USA, USA!”
WCW TV Title Triple Threat Match Champion Diamond Dallas Page vs. Tully Blanchard w/JJ Dillon vs. Vampiro This match is a strong candidate for match of the year, as all three men put everything they had into the action seen here. In a bit of a surprise, Vampiro regains the title, pinning Page after the Nail in the Coffin.
Russian Chain Match “The Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff vs. Alexis Smirnoff After months of waiting, Koloff finally got his hands on Smirnoff and was able to get some measure of revenge. Koloff made Smirnoff submit to the Russian Bear Hug, but as usual, Smirnoff’s Allies, Volkoff and Zhukov attacked! This brought in Hackenschmidt, jumping over the guardrail with his chair, three piece suit and all! Volkoff and Zhukov bailed, and Hackenschmidt helped Koloff to his feet. He then shook hands with the Russian Bear before drilling him in the head with the steel chair! Smirnoff laughed and rose to his feet, only to be the next victim of Hackenschmidt’s chair! Hackenschmidt then delivered a couple vicious suplexes and body throws and threw Smirnoff from the ring. He then beckoned to the remaining Bolsheviks and he left the ringside area with them in tow.
Texas Tornado Brass Knuckles Match The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith and the Dynamite Kid) vs. The Quebecers (Jacques Rougeau and Carl Pierre Oullett) The Bulldogs finally got the definitive victory over the Quebecers, when Dynamite pinned Oullett after a diving headbutt. That was all the opening DiBiase and Hughes needed to double team Brody. DiBiase won with the Billion Dollar Dream.
WCW World Tag Team Championship Match The Army of Darkness (Terry Gordy and Jimmy Snuka) vs. Killer Kowalski and Gorilla Monsoon w/“Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert The AOD injured Kowalski’s partner The Spoiler last week, and Gilbert promised a replacement. He didn’t disappoint, bringing in “The Manchurian Madman” Gorilla Monsoon! These two teams of monster heels slugged it out, but in the end the AOD came out on top, winning by DQ when Gilbert went for a Fireball on Snuka. Ross and Solie noted that “The Taskmaster” Kevin Sullivan did not accompany the AOD to the ring and wondered why…
WCW World Heavyweight Championship Match Champion Jack Brisco vs. “Nature Boy” Buddy Rogers w/JJ Dillon Brisco wins his first successful title defense with a Rolling Reverse Cradle just after the 37 minute mark of a mat classic.
