After various attempts and failures to run an ongoing LOW or CotG fed, I think I may have finally found my niche. This will be a woman's league set in the GWF era and run with (mostly) homemade talent. There will be numerous connections to the GWF Timeline, though I will be taking artistic liberties with the dates of specific events (e.g., the onset of Black Death) and the established history of the GWF.
Here are the core conceits I will use as I run the OMEGA Wrestling League, or OWL (Tagline: Check out our hooters!)
1) In 2114, Colonial Network Media Consultant Ace Kincaid did the unthinkable, creating a Sports Entertainment Brand from scratch to rival the GWF (and the CPWA, or Colby-Pelf Wrestling Alliance, for that matter) without directly competing against them for active talent. Ace's MMA project, the Organization of Martial, Extreme, and Grappling Arts--OMEGA, if you will--started out strong and never looked back. It would, in fact, one day go on to take over the CPWA, flooding its ranks with talent.
2) OMEGA was designed as a much more hard-edge form of entertainment. If the GWF was TV-PG, this was clearly TV-14 based on violence, language, and sex appeal of the female valets and trainers.
3) There is no 3.
4) Seeking to expand his market share even further, Kincaid opted to create a sub-brand: a traditional professional wrestling federation catering solely to female competitors. For the most part, they avoided trying to snipe talent from the GWF or CPWA, instead seeking out younger stars who had yet to make a name for themselves, or established independent wrestlers who had little or no chance to make it in the limited female pool of grapplers in the Big Two.
4a) That said, some of the younger talent they sought out had ties to the GWF, but had been kept out of the spotlight due to age, inexperience, or familial wishes.
5) The primary setting will be the colonies of Earth's solar system, as the planet was irradiated in a massive industrial accident in 2109, killing off a staggering percentage of life on the planet.
6) Make no mistake, this is TV-14 action. The ladies are expected to look sexy, talk tough, and back up their words with hard-hitting action. Any storylines that develop may or may not be unsuitable for younger viewers.
Next up, I will introduce the eight ladies invited to take part in the inaugural season of the OMEGA Wrestling League.

When looking for the backbone of his new project, Ace Kincaid new he would need a star with name recognition. With the right combination of promises of fame (or rather, infamy) and money, he lured AMBROSIA (5'8", 135 lbs., Callisto Colony) out of retirement. The daughter of Moon Knight--Star Warrior's estranged half-brother, and therefore the granddaughter of GWF legend and founder Omega himself--was all too eager for one last chance at the spotlight, particularly given the lingering resentment she and her father had for the rest of Omega's family. Naturally, this resentment turned her attention immediately to... NOVA (5'8", 120 lbs., Titan Colony), the daughter of former GWF Ladies' Champion Supernova, granddaughter of Star Warrior, and great-granddaughter of Omega. After Supernova retired from in-ring competition, she and her family left Callisto Colony for Titan, so that Nova could attend a private university there. The family was less than pleased, but not terribly surprised, when she gave up college to become a professional wrestler, even though it put her at odds with her first cousin (once removed). However, Nova found an immediate ally in... BASTET (5'4½", 146 lbs., Kilrah), a second generation grappler, the daughter of GWF legend and Aethran defector Wolf and his Kilrathi wife, Bast. Bast is best-known for crossing planetary feud lines to team with the Aethran Burn as part of the Sentinels in 2109, a fact which caused Bastet immediate tension with... HEAT (5'10", 149 lbs., Aethra). Heat is Burn's sister, and she never forgave her older sibling for defying their entire planet's sense of morality to team with a hated Kilrathi--a source of frustration that she intended to take out on Bastet. Heat is a tall, muscular girl, though night quite as tall or muscular as... LEVIATHAN (6'1". 190 lbs., Europa Colony). The gentle giant Leviathan was teased mercilessly as a child for her gangly limbs and abnormal height for an unmodified human. As a teenager, she discovered the joys of vigorous physical exercise, and found that weight training combined with martial arts lessons discouraged much of the abuse she had endured when she was younger. Even as a wrestler, she retained an atypical appearance, making her an obvious target for... AMBER (5'3", 118 lbs., Ganymede Colony), the self-styled Head Bitch In Charge of the OWL, and a stereotypical "Mean Girl." Amber came from money--lots and lots of it--and she was convinced of her own superiority in all things, especially in terms of beauty and privilege. She would have gone down as the most vain superstar in the OWL's rookie class, if it were not for... ECSTASY (5'6", 135 lbs., Europa Colony), an insufferable snob who believed that she was the greatest professional wrestler not just in the OWL, not just among women, and not just in the current era, but of all grapplers, of any gender, anywhere in time or space. She bore all the trappings of her success, traveling first class from colony to colony, dressing in expensive formalwear when she wasn't competing...indeed, the self-proclaimed "Queen of Hearts" even carried a golden scepter to the ring, capped with a heart-shaped device made from rubies. Her superiority complex (no relation) led her into immediate conflict with... DALLAS (5'4", 124 lbs., Lunar Colony), a self-trained tomboy who built her muscles tending the fields of her family's prosperous cattle ranch among the terraformed fields of the dying Earth's sole moon. Dallas' rugged toughness and no-nonsense attitude endeared her to the fans, making her an easy fan favorite, alongside Nova, Bastet, and Leviathan. HEADSHOTS:

Now, for you trivia fans, here is each lady's FINISHER and theme music. After that, we should be ready to get into the action!
Nova prefers to use the STELLAR CONVERTER, a high-angle moonsault, to pin her opponents. She comes to the ring to Kelly Kelly's old WWE theme music, Holla.
Ambrosia still uses her father's POWERSAULT, a fallaway slam from the top rope where she lands atop the opponent in a perfect pinning position. Ambrosia is also well-known for using a small chain that she hides somewhere in her gear during matches. Her theme music is Free the Flame, which was also her father's theme music (and is the current theme music for Ember Moon).
Bastet makes use of her father's SAVAGE FACE CLAW, of course. She comes to the ring to an instrumental version of Def Leppard's Pour Some Sugar On Me, just like her daddy used to.
Heat's signature move is the good old-fashioned leaping GLADIATOR PILEDRIVER, though she has also been known to bust out a DECAPITATOR flying lariat from time to time. Back in the day, Brute and Massacre came out to Queen's We Will Rock You. Heat has spiced things up a bit, coming out to Warrant's cover of the song.
Leviathan's finisher of choice is the OVERFLOW, a Canadian back breaker rack flipped forward into a face-first power slam. Her theme music is John Williams' Main Title from Jaws.
Amber chooses not to mess with success, using a SUPERKICK to finish off her opponents, though she has been known to jaw with the fans instead of making a cover, or attempting a demeaning cover with one foot or even one finger afterwards. Her theme music is Angel on My Shoulder from the TNA Emergence CD. (This was the Beautiful People's theme in TNA.)
Ecstasy's HEARTBREAKER is a little like Chris Jericho's CODEBREAKER, except she drives her knees into the opponent's chest instead of her face. The Queen of Hearts, naturally, uses Stephanie McMahon's current theme, Welcome to the Queendom.
Dallas is a good ol' girl, who puts people away with an old fashioned LARIAT that would make JBL proud. Her theme music is Hardcore Country, sung by Mickie James.

OWL Episode 1 06.10.2115 from Deimos Interplanetary Sports Arena
- In the ring... - With such a small roster, OWL had its beginnings in special attraction matches on OMEGA MMA cards. Prior to the first match, OMEGA Commissioner Jack Diamond (FKA Jack of Diamonds, recently retired from the CPWA) introduced the ladies of OWL. He announced that the first matches in OWL history would be part of a Round Robin Tournament to crown the first OWL Champion. He also explained the rules of the tournament: a submission victory was worth five points, a pinfall was worth four, a count out victory three, a disqualification victory two, a draw of any sort one, and--of course--a loss was worth nothing. At the end of the tournament, the two highest point-earners would square off to determine the first ever OWL champion. The ladies received only a polite reaction from the crowd, many of whom were already leaving their seats for the concession stands or the restrooms, waiting for the next MMA fight.
Dallas vs. Ambrosia Dallas defeated Ambrosia with a LARIAT at 9:48 Match Rating: 1.00 Match Notes: Dallas pinned Ambrosia after a wicked LARIAT.
Bastet vs. Ecstasy Ecstasy defeated Bastet with a DQ at 7:31 Match Rating: 0.50 Match Notes: Bastet was disqualified for blasting Ecstasy with a steel chair while the two ladies were fighting on the arena floor.
Nova vs. Heat Heat defeated Nova with a count out at 3:26 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: Heat absolutely brutalized the fourth-generation superstar, finally tossing Nova over the top rope and leaving her laying on the floor, where she was unable to meet the referee's ten-count.
Leviathan vs. Amber Leviathan defeated Amber with an OVERFLOW at 6:25 Match Rating: 1.50 Match Notes: Leviathan pinned Amber after planting her in the center of the ring with an OVERFLOW.
Overall Card Rating: 0.78
Point Standings Dallas: 4 Leviathan: 4 Heat: 3 Ecstasy: 2 Amber: 0 Ambrosia: 0 Bastet: 0 Nova: 0

OWL Episode 2 07.07.2115 from Deimos Interplanetary Sports Arena
Ecstasy vs. Ambrosia Ambrosia defeated Ecstasy with a DQ at 9:20 Match Rating: 0.00 Match Notes: Ecstasy was caught choking Ambrosia with an electrical cable, forcing the referee to call for the disqualification.
Leviathan vs. Dallas Leviathan defeated Dallas with an OVERFLOW at 10:41 Match Rating: 1.50 Match Notes: Leviathan scored another huge win, defeating a very game Dallas via pinfall after planting her with an OVERFLOW.
Amber vs. Heat Amber defeated Heat with a SUPERKICK at 15:13 Match Rating: 0.50 Match Notes: Though both women were booed fiercely, Amber earned a small ovation for her upset win, pinning the much larger Valkyrie, Heat, after a SUPERKICK.
Bastet vs. Nova Bastet defeated Nova with a SAVAGE FACE CLAW at 8:31 Match Rating: 0.50 Match Notes: The fierce Bastet worked over the rookie Nova mercilessly, driving her head into the ringpost before finally tossing her into the ring and applying the SAVAGE FACE CLAW for the submission victory.
Overall Card Rating: 0.63
Point Standings Leviathan: 8 Bastet: 5 Amber: 4 Dallas: 4 Heat: 3 Ambrosia: 2 Ecstasy: 2 Nova: 0

OWL Episode 3 07.30.2115 from Deimos Interplanetary Sports Arena
Heat vs. Ecstasy Heat defeated Ecstasy with a GLADIATOR PILEDRIVER at 4:36 Match Rating: 0.50 Match Notes: Heat made short work of the vainglorious Ecstasy, scoring the pinfall after a legendary GLADIATOR PILEDRIVER.
Amber vs. Dallas Amber defeated Dallas with a SUPERKICK at 14:32 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: Amber and Dallas fought their way all around the ring, battering each other into the ringside steps and the ring posts, though it was Dallas that caught the worst of it. Bleeding from her forehead so badly she could barely see, she fell prey to a SUPERKICK, giving Amber the pinfall victory.
Bastet vs. Leviathan Bastet defeated Leviathan with a SAVAGE FACE CLAW at 10:54 Match Rating: 2.50 Match Notes: Though Leviathan had been dominant thus far in the tournament, she ran into a wall of fire in the form of Bastet. The Kilrathi half-breed opened up a nasty wound just above Leviathan's right eye, then clamped on the SAVAGE FACE CLAW for the submission.
Ambrosia vs. Nova This match ended in a draw at 20:00 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: Even after two bloody matches, this bout between two hated enemies somehow made the others pale in comparison. The rookie and the seasoned pro tore into one another right from the opening bell, never letting up. Towards the end of the match, Nova really poured on the aggression, splitting Ambrosia's lip with a forearm shot across the mouth, and bloodying her cousin's nose after driving her head into an exposed turnbuckle. Unfortunately, Nova's rally was too little, too late, and time expired before she could put Ambrosia away, leaving the rookie winless in the tournament.
Overall Card Rating: 2.75
Point Standings Bastet: 10 Amber: 8 Leviathan: 8 Heat: 7 Dallas: 4 Ambrosia: 3 Ecstasy: 2 Nova: 1

OWL Episode 4 08.12.2115 from Deimos Interplanetary Sports Arena
- Non-Tournament Match - Ambrosia vs. Dallas Ambrosia defeated Dallas with a POWERSAULT at 12:21 Match Rating: 3.50 Match Notes: Ambrosia simply out-wrestled and out-brawled Dallas, who was busted open early after having her head driven into the ringpost. She never really recovered from the injury, leaving her easy prey for Ambrosia's POWERSAULT.
Amber vs. Nova Nova defeated Amber with a STELLAR CONVERTER at 11:46 Match Rating: 1.50 Match Notes: Nova finally began to show signs of confidence in this match, which saw her pin Amber after her STELLAR CONVERTER, a breathtaking high-angle moonsault.
Leviathan vs. Ecstasy Leviathan defeated Ecstasy with a single-leg Boston Crab at 2:42 Match Rating: 0.50 Match Notes: This turned out to be little more than a squash match, as Leviathan tossed her opponent around the ring, including one hip toss that caused Ecstasy to land awkwardly on her left hip. Leviathan immediately clamped on a single-leg Boston Crab and scored an easy submission.
Bastet vs. Heat Bastet defeated Heat with a count out at 9:15 Match Rating: 2.00 Match Notes: This was a brutal match, as one would expect from a contest between an Aethran and a Kilrathi. As the contest wore on, Bastet began to show more and more of an edge, finally clamping on her SAVAGE FACE CLAW. Heat fought her way to the ropes, rolled out of the ring, and walked to the back, taking the voluntary count out to avoid further punishment.
Overall Card Rating: 1.88
Point Standings Bastet: 13 Leviathan: 13 Amber: 8 Heat: 7 Nova: 5 Dallas: 4 Ambrosia: 3 Ecstasy: 2

I liek the art for Bastet. Keep the dice dizzy. Thanks, Troy. Good art to match a good character is very important to me. I am repurposing a lot of art by the very talented Garrett Blair, plus a few GWF pieces and a couple from other artists to bring the characters I design to life. If you saw Bastet's entire body shot, you'd see that she has followed her father's Aethran custom of getting tattoos to show her endurance: in this case, wedge-shaped stripes on her legs. And yes, she has a tail.

OWL Episode 5 08.30.2115 from Deimos Interplanetary Sports Arena
Nova vs. Dallas Nova defeated Dallas with a STELLAR CONVERTER at 5:12 Match Rating: 0.50 Match Notes: Perhaps still feeling the effects of her injury at the last show, Dallas never got out of the gates. Nova cruised to an easy pinfall victory courtesy of her STELLAR CONVERTER.
Amber vs. Ambrosia Amber defeated Ambrosia with a SUPERKICK at 14:22 Match Rating: 4.50 Match Notes: Despite their lackluster welcome, the ladies of OWL have been earning more and more respect from the bloodthirsty OMEGA audience, and matches like this are one reason why. Ambrosia showed that despite her age, she could still wrestle with the younger generation, and Amber showed that she was more than just an obnoxious socialite. Both women put on a clinic in professional wrestling, and each had her moments to shine. The action was so intense that both women were exhausted by the end and nursing numerous bumps, scrapes, cuts, and bruises. Only a SUPERKICK out of nowhere allowed Amber to collapse across Ambrosia and pick up the hard-fought pin.
Bastet and Leviathan vs. Ecstasy and Heat Bastet defeated Heat with a SAVAGE FACE CLAW at 3:34 Match Rating: 0.50 Match Notes: Leviathan and Ecstasy were afterthoughts in this first-ever OWL Tag Team Match, as Bastet and Heat picked up right where they left off on Episode 4. After securing an advantage, Bastet clamped on her SAVAGE FACE CLAW; this time, Heat could not reach the ropes and Leviathan cut off Ecstasy from making the save with a huge spear, so the Aethran was forced to submit.
Overall Card Rating: 1.83
Point Standings Bastet: 13 Leviathan: 13 Amber: 12 Nova: 9 Heat: 7 Dallas: 4 Ambrosia: 3 Ecstasy: 2
