Thanks very much for the comments on the ACW debut show Troy, Vegas, Joebreakdown, Pariah, Crimson, Bookerbill and Bri. It looks like the two six-man tags stood out and the funny thing is that I put those two together as a way to get everyone booked on the debut show. Bob Armstrong vs. Harley Race was a fitting main event and a great match. Brad Armstrong nearly took home gold but the Mountie found a way out as usual (right, Pariah? ) "The Paragon of Virtue" indeed Also glad you guys are looking forward to King of Trios. Legends of the Mask could certainly make an impact. Coming up next is a night of PCW action, I hope that you enjoy it...LOW Pacific Coast Wrestling - Portland Sports Arena - Portland, OR (Card #1205)Quick Results:

8) LOW International Heavyweight title: Giant Baba© defeated “Rowdy” Roddy Piper (with Cowboy Bob Orton) by DQ to retain the title
Match Highlights:
The main event was for all the marbles as Kings Road United star Giant Baba defended his newly won LOW International Heavyweight title against the very deserving challenge of “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Accompanied by his bodyguard “The Ace” Cowboy Bob Orton, Piper was bound and determined to regain the title which he briefly held a little over two years ago. Although he was at a size disadvantage, Piper made up for it with a spirited attack battling Baba both in and out of the ring. A great spot saw Piper trap Baba in the Sleeper Hold going for the submission but the champion broke out of it with authority. Baba then quickly followed up with a big Baba Chop and a Russian Legsweep resulting in a two count. Piper took it to the outside and nearly won it by count out after Orton hit Baba from behind with his cast while the referee was distracted. Baba battled back and hit the Neckbreaker Drop for what looked to be a sure pin but Orton broke up the count resulting in the referee ejecting the bodyguard from ringside. Piper vehemently protested the ejection, but Orton was escorted to the back by LOW officials. The heated battle ended in controversy as Piper was caught using a Foreign Object, which appeared to be a pair of brass knuckles, and that resulted in him being disqualified by the referee. IT was a successful version one defense of the title for Baba against a strong challenge from Piper.
In other action…
A feature attraction saw “Mr. USA” Tony Atlas, Pepper Gomez, Tugboat Taylor & Chaz Taylor take on the Sherri Sports Agency, Inc. foursome of Playboy Buddy Rose, Dr. Tom Prichard and the Texas Hangmen (Killer & Psycho). There is a lot of history between these sides especially with Atlas and the Taylor’s having all been put on the injury list by SSA, Inc. in the past. The heat was off the charts for what was an incredible atomicos match. Atlas, who just returned from injury, found himself on the defensive for a good stretch early with all four members of SSA, Inc. working him over. When he finally made a hot tag to Gomez it was on as the intensity really picked up. A key moment saw Gomez execute the Mexican Cradle on Rose but that was broken up by his partners. Gomez followed up with the Mexican Leap on Rose and went for the pin but Sherri Martel, who was not at ringside at the start, ran down providing a distraction. Gomez then chased the Ring Angels champion around ringside and was nearly counted out of the ring. Fortunately for his team he got back inside and helped set up a victory. The finish saw Gomez hit Prichard with a criss cross smash before the 325-pound Tugboat Taylor came off the top rope onto him with the Anchor Drop to score the pin. The crowd cheered the victory by the fan favorites and Atlas grabbed the mic post-match warning SSA, Inc. that he is coming for them and wants his LOW Tex-Arkana Television title back from The Mountie.
A most interesting tag team confrontation saw Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka and Dutch Savage join forces to take on First Family member “The Magnificent” Don Muraco and the “King of Men” Fred Blassie. On a recent installment of LOW All-Star Wrestling, Blassie made it known that he was angry over being left off WrestleCade 12 weekend as well as the Kings Road United card at the Tokyo Dome. His anger seems to have made him rethink his position in PCW where he had been among the fan favorites but here he was paired with Muraco with manager Jimmy Hart in their corner. Blassie and Hart engaged in a discussion during the ring introductions, notable because Blassie is not officially a member of the First Family and because Blassie on ASW expressed a desire to possibly begin managing some clients again. The crowd wasn’t sure how to react to Blassie but he made it clear where he stands as his first move after being tagged in by Muraco was to bite Snuka on the forehead. That set off a wild brawl between the four men and it eventually ended up on the outside where the referee, unable to regain control of the match, called for a double disqualification.
Coming off an historic championship win over Mildred Burke at WrestleCade 12, Sherri Martel put up the Ring Angels title for the first time against a spirited challenger in Rockin’ Robin. Playboy Buddy Rose accompanied Martel to the ring, but he was sent to the back by the referee before the match got underway. Martel shined early and hit her Top Rope Splash but Robin impressively kicked out at the count of two. Robin struck back catching Martel with a swinging neckbreaker but then missed with a deathjump resulting in a cradle hold by Martel for a near fall. Martel then turned it up and caught Robin with the clothesline and suplex before hitting a second Top Rope Splash for the pin. It was a successful version one defense of the title for Martel who very well could hold on to the belt for quite some time.
A most interesting battle saw Pampero Firpo, the “Wild Bull of the Pampas”, take on Angelo “King Kong” Mosca. Both men were acquired from the CWA by PCW in a trade for Davey Richards and were looking to make an impact in their new home. Mosca, sporting a bandaged forehead because of his bloody No DQ match with Tully Blanchard at WrestleCade 12, held a size and power advantage but a Wildman like Firpo has ways to counter that. Firpo took this one to the floor several times and was able to open the wound on Mosca’s head drawing a good amount of blood. He then locked on the El Garfio, his version of the claw hold, but Mosca powered out of it. Mosca came back strong with a series of running clotheslines and delivered a heart punch for a two count. After another battle outside, Firpo locked on the El Garfio and the bloody Mosca seemed to pass out from the hold as the referee called for the bell giving Firpo a submission victory. It was a strong debut win for Firpo but there is no doubt that Mosca will look to avenge his defeat in a memorable debut in PCW for both men.
The Midnight Rockers (Stan Lane & Marty Jannetty) continued their impressive run since joining PCW as they defeated the so called “Carolina Connection” tandem of Timber, “The Insane Lumberjack”, and Savage-T who had valet KJ Hill in their corner. The Rockers dominated much of the action although Timber and Savage-T, of LOW All-Star Wrestling, also got in some nice offense. That included Timber hitting a Moonsault on Jannetty before Lane hit the Russian Leg Sweep on Savage-T for a near fall late setting up the win for the Rockers. Jannetty followed up quickly with a DDT on Savage-T for the pin as Lane cut off a save attempt by Timber.
Flip Gordon was unceremoniously fired from Extreme CHIKARA Wrestling by Eddie Gilbert last year but has now been signed by PCW and the high-flying star from Kalispell, MT, is hoping to make an impact. He had a difficult first test, though, as he was put up against First Family member Sabu who was accompanied to the ring by his manager Jimmy Hart. Gordon did make an impact as he fought hard against Sabu hitting such moves as the running huracanrana and Shooting Star Press. He also survived the feared Camel Clutch and rolled out of the way of the Triple Jump Moonsault. Sabu was relentless on offense, however, and took Gordon down with a piledriver late before he made a corner counter and hit a Slingshot Legdrop for the pin.
The powerful Russian team of Nikolai Volkoff & Boris Zhukov, last seen competing in the Real World Tag League for Kings Road United, made their PCW debut taking on the popular “Cowboy” Scott Casey & Dewey Robertson. Volkoff jumped Casey at the bell and that set the tone for the match. The Russian duo took turns working over Casey including Zhukov delivering the Soviet Stomp for a near fall. Robertson was kept at bay most of the match and in the end it was Volkoff hoisting Casey up for the Backbreaker Drop to score the pin.
Also of note, following the Midnight Rockers tag team win there was a special announcement made by ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta as he introduced a new star signed by PCW – “Mr. Athletic” Jeff Cobb. Cappetta noted that Cobb was an outstanding amateur wrestler who represented Guam in the Olympic Games and who trained for a professional wrestling career in Hawaii. Cobb spoke briefly and said that he hopes to use all his experience that he has learned wrestling independently and looks to take on the best that PCW has to offer. Cappetta noted that Cobb will be in action on the next edition of LOW All-Star Wresting.
