Agreed! I'm glad they're finally realizing that there's a section of their subscribers who wants to see this older footage, because even into the early days of the Hidden Gems, the claim was that the classic footage was watched by such a small number of people so they stuck to just the 'popular' stuff. Now they're unloading stuff we never thought we'd see at a somewhat regular clip and it's awesome. I won't say I get excited about everything they put up (I don't care about the Triple H/Undertaker matches or really anything post like...1995 or so) but they give us plenty of good stuff to offset the stuff I'm not interested in. Now, if they unearth The Final Conflict and we get to see that Flair/Valentine title match... That show was put out some time ago. Not by the WWE though. I have it. The finish to the Steamboat/Youngblood vs. Slaughter/Kernodle cage match was missing but it was added. I forget who it was that had the tapes. Nelson Royal? Somebody like that.

That's the version I have, it's from Jim Nelson I think, but the Flair/Valentine match isn't included. I think basically the rest of the show is there but the World Title match is missing.

OK I didn't remember that match wasn't there. I'll look at my match list when I get home.

I usually sleep 3-4 hours then wake up for a couple hours and do mundane household stuff (put dishes away, fold laundry, etc.) while watching Hidden Gems, YouTube, etc. Then I sleep for another few hours. Anyhoot, It was a pure joy to watch Crockett Cup during last weeks "insomnia lull"! Bruce Prichard in his youth as the ring announcer was a silly bonus.
Question: How in the heck were Magnum T.A. & Ronnie Garvin even in the finals (I knew this for years but kind of forgot about it)? Was it to push Magnum more, seeing that 1986 was to be "his year"?
Alas, it just made me miss the classic tag teams more than I already did. Bret Hart's HOF speech this year did enough of that for me on the WWE side. At least in COTG-lore, tag teams matter! Word.

My guess is that they got to the final because Garvin was a headliner against Flair just two months earlier on TBS and Magnum was getting ready to be the guy.

Also, Magnum TA was formerly a headliner in Mid-South, so that might account for him getting to the finals. Even though it was a JCP event, the Fantastics-Sheepherders match and the Gilbert/Korchenko stuff definitely advanced some UWF storylines.
That Taylor/Williams vs Koloffs match made me want to see a Williams vs Nikita series...

NWA Western States: made me think I want to see the tournament for the Western States Heritage title Barry Windham won before joining the Horsemen.

The awards banquet for Terry Funk the night before ECW's Barely Legal in 1997 was also added today. Kind of a cool addition. Looks like it's an hour and 45 minutes.

I'm gonna watch that Funk/Lawler match from 1990 USWA in a few.
