While playing out my recent ROV results today, I watched some more of this Crockett Cup, I am now up to about the first 1 1/2 hours up to the start of the 2nd round match between the Rock N' Roll Express and the Sheepherders (a feud I actually just had in my LOW fed.)

Just finishing the show now. Incredible show from everything that's available. I'm guessing they just didn't tape the first few matches. Either way, getting THIS MUCH of that show complete is incredible and I'm glad we finally got to see it. The screwy thing is, those first five matches were on the 2 hour home video release of this show, in highlight form. www.youtube.com/watch?v=LReqv7osxm8 has a pretty choppy, but viewable copy. I'm happy to see the bulk of the show in full format, maybe the full footage of the first few matches didn't survive.

I found the abbreviated version of the Cup online and watched it. I was surprised by several of the teams. I enjoyed it very much. Classic tournament.

Yeah, someone on Twitter pointed out a few hours after I made that post that the five missing matches from the Network version actually were taped after all. It's a shame we didn't get them too but hey, we got a hell of a lot more of the show than we previously had and all of it was great!

I agree! This is one of my favorite Hidden Gems ever, aside from the AWA/Pro Wrestling USA stuff that's been posted.

I think the only other Hidden Gem I went this crazy over was that Piper/Valentine house show match they put up last year. Legitimate all-time great brawl that we never would have seen if they didn't unearth it! (EDIT: Also I got really hyped for the AWA Christmas shows they put up around Christmas because it meant new Billy Robinson footage, and I just noticed there's a Robinson/Ray Stevens singles match...gonna have to watch that)
Also it's cool to see that they put up another Omni show, this time headlined by Flair vs. Tommy Rich!

I agree with your other selections. The Baltimore show with Flair vs. Brisco was great too. Especially Ole's blooper reel first take on the intro!

Agreed! I'm glad they're finally realizing that there's a section of their subscribers who wants to see this older footage, because even into the early days of the Hidden Gems, the claim was that the classic footage was watched by such a small number of people so they stuck to just the 'popular' stuff. Now they're unloading stuff we never thought we'd see at a somewhat regular clip and it's awesome. I won't say I get excited about everything they put up (I don't care about the Triple H/Undertaker matches or really anything post like...1995 or so) but they give us plenty of good stuff to offset the stuff I'm not interested in.
Now, if they unearth The Final Conflict and we get to see that Flair/Valentine title match...

Haven't had a chance to look at the Crockett Cup yet, but hope to this week. I have a friend who grew up watching CWF and he's itching for all the wacky Kevin Sullivan stuff to be released. Not sure if WWE would ever green light that because of the content though. They definitely have a ton of great stuff in their library and the others they've acquired over the years.

I think the problem with Florida stuff is we don't have a real good gauge of how much they have or what they have. I think if WWE were cool with releasing ECW content and not censoring Bubba Dudley's Heat Wave 1999 promo at all, I think they'd let satanic Kevin Sullivan slide.
