A Billion Reasons...(A Tournament)... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Chapter 3)
2nd night of matches: -----------------------------------------
1. Claudio Castagnoli vs A.R. Fox 2. Sami Callihan vs Eddie Kingston 3. Lance Hoyt vs Jay Briscoe 4. Michael Elgin vs Bryan Danielson
------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(The scene is again from within the candle lit Owners Residence...aka The Dungeon...The Owner is seated behind his desk in thought...and The Commissioner has just sat down...as is customary...in The Owners desk guest chair...):
Commissioner - Sire...I have the results on all of last night's...matches...
Owner (pours himself and The Commissioner a tumbler full whiskey) - Whenever you're ready...
Commissioner (takes a swig of the whiskey) - Okay...
(But just about when The Commissioner was about to start...something on The Owners desk caught his eye...a picture frame...and within it...a picture of the most beautiful woman...The Commissioner had ever seen...she was shapley...with long wavy strawberry blondish hair...she looked like Kim Novak's incredibly more attractive sister...was that picture always there?...he thought?...it couldn't have been...)
Commissioner - If you don't mind me saying...sire...she's...
Owner - Believe me...I know...
Commissioner - Who is she?...What's her name?...
Owner (thinks for a bit) - She...is a spy...and her name...is actually quite appropriate...but if I told you it...you just...wouldn't believe me...
(The Commissioner takes his largest gulp...of Aethran whiskey yet...and thought to himself...that's the first time I've seen that picture...I would have noticed that before...a blind man would have noticed that before...who is she...he thought?...)
Owner (takes a gulp) - So...tell me...
Commissioner - Right...so...
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
1. Claudio Castagnoli defeated A.R. Fox via Pinfall courtesy of his RICOLA BOMB finisher at the 24 minute mark...
Owner - 24 minutes huh...twice as long as any other match held...on the first night...
Commissioner - It was a masterpiece sire...both badly broken open...Fox almost counted out after Castagnoli Chokeslammed him outside the ring...Fox struggling with Castagnoli on the top ropes...only for Fox to execute a German Suplex off the top ropes on Castagnoli...more 2 & 1/2 count kickouts than I can remember...by both wrestlers...
Owner - Best match...so far?
Commissioner - By far...what finally turned the tide was...after Fox went for a cover after hitting his Suicide Senton...Castagnoli knew that the move hurt Fox more than it did him...so Castagnoli executed his finisher...Fox still...somehow...kicked out of the first one...but not...the second...
Owner - Let's hope this...sets the tone...what else?...
Commissioner - From what we've recorded...Castagnoli is offering to the winner of this tournament...a 100% tax shelter...for only 10% of the winnigs...if the winner deposits his prize...with his private loan officer...at The Swiss Holding Company in Zurich...
Owner - Sneaky...what of Fox?...
Commissioner - Fox wants to open up a state of the art...professional wrestling school...with his winnings...or even with his guaranteed minimum prize money...its his way of...giving back to the sport...
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
2. Eddie Kingston defeated Sami Callahan via Disqualification. Callihan was disqualified for executing an Exploder Suplex on Kingston into the First Row Ringside Seats at the 6 minute mark...scattering the other wrestlers...
Owner - Sounds like...Mr. Callihan lost his cool...
Commissioner - Well...Kingston was completely outwrestling Callihan...Kingston came out very strong and hitting both of his finishers SLIDING D (A Sliding Forearm Smash) and BACKFIST TO THE FUTURE basically out of the gate...
Owner - Going for...a quick win...
Commissioner - Callihan kicked out of everything though...but on the other hand...he couldn't sustain any offense because Kingston kept reversing it...then during a ringside brawl...Callihan's eyes suddenly rolled back into his head...and decided to end the match...
Owner - I'm I big fan...of hot heads...although Callihan now sounds more like...somewhere between violent...and evil...what else can you tell me about them?...
Commissioner - There appears to be...an alliance between Kingston and Konnan...where Kingston acts like a sort of...security for him...on a side note...I think Konnan...among other reasons...is here to build a stable around Kingston...possibly to proposition the...most successful competitors in the tournament...
Owner - Is that a fact?...Konnan and Kingston thought of that...all by themselves huh?...
(Note: The Commissioner has suddenly deduced that this may also be a motive of The Owners...possibly even a primary motive here...but hes not completely sure).
Commissioner - Callihan...quite frankly concerns me here sire...he has been making...well what could be said...are dark prophesies regarding...this tournament...
The Owner - Just the ravings...of a Mad Irishman...nothing more...
Commissioner - After the match...Callihan suddenly spun his head...with eyes rolled back into his head...and stared right into the hidden camera...how he knew exactly where...that camera was...is somewhat disturbing...and makes the hairs on my arms...stand up...
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
3. Jay Briscoe defeated Lance Hoyt via Pinfall courtesy of his JAY DRILLER finisher at the 6 minute mark...
Owner - This one...must have been wild...
Commissioner - Suprisingly...it was a bit of a squash...my liege...
Owner - Unexpected...
Commissioner - It was about six minutes of raw brutal offense...Briscoe was about as locked in..as any of the competitors have been far...after he almost got himself disqualified by Smashing Hoyt in the Forehead With His Fake Title...Briscoe almost gained a countout victory over Hoyt...by executing a Release Spinebuster on him outside the ring...one that could have ended some wrestlers careers...then back inside the ring...two straight JAY DRILLER's finish off Hoyt...
Owner - Disappointing...but it happens...now what about the rest?...
Commissioner - According to some of the security staff...Jay Briscoe, "Doesn't need a reason...to kick the shit...out of everybody here"...
Owner - True to form...I guess...
Commissioner - However...some curious behavior from Hoyt...was captured by the hidden cameras and one of the drones outside...
(Note: The drones on the island...uncannily resemble bluebirds...)
Owner - Go on...
Commissioner - Hoyt has been asking many questions about...you...sire...he wanted to know where your chamber was...and is quite interested in the old Irish Kings...and would love to meet with you...one on one...
Owner (with a very pensive face) - Now why...would a goon...from Dallas Texas...have any interest...in me...or my prestigious families...history?...This just...doesn't...sound right...
Commissioner (with a combination of duty and curiosity) - I thought it sounded...strange...as well...if you wish sire...I could meet up with him...one on one...to sort of...feel out this...situation...and report back...
Owner - Do it...and tell me everything...he says...
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
4. Michael Elgin defeated Bryan Danielson via Pinfall courtesy of his Buckle Bomb at the 3 minute mark...
Owner (with a slight smile) - I guess...Unbreakable Elgin...broke Danielson...
Commissioner - As well as part of the ring sire...
Owner - Ha...Like his style...tell me...
Commissioner - It was all Michael Elgin in this one sire...even though Bryan Danielson won the lockup...Elgin was just too powerful...for him to contend with...
Owner - Just how did Elgin...break part of the ring?...
Commissioner - With Bryan Danielson sire...when Elgin pinned Danielson...it was after his fourth Buckle Bomb in a row...after the last one...which proved to be the move that gained Elgin the victory...the impact from Danielsons body hitting the turnbuckle...actually dented the ring post some...with this final one...being the fourth Buckle Bomb in a row...into the same corner...
The Owner - Elgin is my pick...to win this whole damn thing...what about yourself my friend?...who do you like?...
The Commissioner - My pick...hasn't wrestled yet sire...
The Owner - Don't tell me then...who it is...until he wrestles...I want it to be...a suprise...
The Commissioner - Yes...my liege...
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
(Note: At this point...as The Commissioner made his way out of..."The Dungeon"...he continued to think to himself about The Owner...and the following items):
1. Have to find out who...that woman is...in the picture on The Owners desk...
2. Have to meet with Lance Hoyt...in order to determine what he's about...or may be up to here...
3. The Owner blew off even listening...to what Sami Callihan is prophesying about...which is odd because...The Owner wants to know everything here...Have to meet one on one with Sami Callihan as well...and bring my...damn crucifix...
4. Really have to find out more about the woman in the picture...she's a spy huh?...
5. Also have to ask The Owner about...what happens when there is an odd amount of competitors left...in the tournament...from a booking standpoint...cause he wants these balanced nightly...cards...if you will...to make sure everyone wrestles an even...amount of time...

The plot thickens. I too am curious about Callihan's prophesies. And who is the beautiful woman?

Big wins by Claudio and Elgin. Hey TTX! I always appreciate you're input brother. You know - that was the very first time I've ever used Castagnoli or Fox at all - and they had one great match! Was a little dissapointed with Danielson vs Elgin - it was like The Hulk vs Loki in the first Avengers movie lol. Here's to hoping Danielson finds his mojo. Thanks man!

The plot thickens. I too am curious about Callihan's prophesies. And who is the beautiful woman? Hey Mad Kanter! For the most point, after the end of not this upcoming post, but the next - just about all of the plots and subplots will be out there. This is the very first endeavor I've ever attempted where I've actually planned out the whole thing lol. Well 95% actually. Sami Callihan's part in all of this will hopefully be an interesting one. The Commissioner's conversation with him is towards the end of the next chapter. I hope its fun and as far as the woman in the picture, more to follow my man. Thanks again for being in the seats!
