- In The Ring -
Commissioner Lou Albano welcomed the fans to very first edition of CFW LiveWire! He announced that a tournament to decide the inaugural CFW Global Heavyweight Champion would begin on this night with a total of four matches and the remainder of the opening round taking place next week. The quarterfinals would happen in two weeks time, setting the stage for semifinals and the final at the first special event in the company's history - CFW Crowning Achievement!

'Mr Perfect' Curt Hennig defeated 'The Real F'n Show' Rob Van Dam via disqualification.
- RVD was disqualified (snake eyes) due to outside interference. -- Tokens: Hennig 5 - RVD 3
- An exciting exchange that ended in controversial fashion. RVD appeared to have the match won until Larry Hennig arrived and caused a distraction that allowed his son to gain the upper hand. Believing that turnaround is fair play, Jerry Lynn interrupted a near fall by pulling the referee out of the ring.
- A wild brawl erupted after the bell and security was needed to pull the two sides apart. The Hennigs mocked Lynn and RVD as they were escorted to the back, reminding them that Curt was officially the winner of the first match in this new promotion.

'Superfly' Jimmy Snuka defeated Terry 'Bamm Bamm' Gordy.
- Snuka scored the pinfall (snake eyes) with a leap frog and chop. -- Tokens: Snuka 1
- Gordy refused to accept the decision, claiming it was a fast count. The referee would not back down, leading to a heated argument. When Gordy raised a hand to strike, Snuka grabbed him from behind and tossed him out to the floor. Gordy promised that Snuka would regret his actions.

- Backstage -
Jim Cornette led the duo of 'Loverboy' Dennis Condrey and Ravishing Randy Rose into the office of Commissioner Albano to proclaim that CFW had just acquired the services of the greatest tag team ever to grace the squared circle - the Midnight Express! Commissioner Albano assured Cornette that he would have worthy competition lined up for the team at CFW Crowning Achievement.

'Dr Death' Steve Williams defeated Nikolai Volkoff.
- Williams scored the pinfall with a BACKDROP DRIVER. -- Tokens: Williams 1 - Volkoff 2

'Macho Man' Randy Savage (w/ Sensational Sherri Martel) defeated Bobo Brazil.
- Savage scored the pinfall with a FLYING ELBOW DROP. -- Tokens: Brazil 1
- Martel cackled with delight as Savage celebrated his triumph. Trish Stratus commented that it would be a long tournament if she was forced to listen to Martel's voice for its duration. Diamond Dallas Page said that Savage was lucky to have such an outgoing manager and Martel could become the deciding factor at some point in the future.

The opening round of the CFW Global Heavyweight Championship tournament concludes!

Shame the Van Dam/Hennig match ended in a dq....Williams was doing beastly stuff and Macho King in the house.

Tough loss for RVD but I actually dug the loss, considering the interferences.

I still have to root for my man Lou Thesz.

Really enjoyed the first show. I think I could get behind a Lynn/RVD team if that is where you are going. Hell yer for Macho Man picking up the win. I am rooting for him to take the whole thing. Great job!

Totally appreciate the feedback, my friends...

TTX - It would have been nice to have a clean finish to the first match of this new fed's history... But, at least it sets up a potentially cool feud between Mr Perfect and RVD right off the jump.

Bri - Lou Albano has such a great personality and with his 'Sicilian' Legends card, I thought it would be fun to work him into the fed in a different capacity... Who knows? Maybe he'll even climb between the ropes at some point like most front office figures have a tendency to do.

cman - It's no secret that Jerry Lynn and RVD are two of my favorite Legends in the game... So, yeah - I can see them probably forming a team as things progress.

Should have the next show posted before I leave work tonight... Cheers!

Iron Sheik (w/ Shawn Daivari) defeated Hacksaw Jim Duggan.
- Sheik gained the submission with a CAMEL CLUTCH. -- Tokens: Duggan 2
- With his attention divided between his opponent and Daivari lurking at ringside, Duggan failed to deliver in this emotionally charged battle.

Bruiser Brody defeated Gorgeous George (w/ Cherie Dupre) via count-out.
- George was counted out after Brody hit a running big boot that sent him crashing into the rails. -- Tokens: Brody 1 - George 2
- It only took a single glare from Brody to convince George's valet that she did not want to get involved in this encounter. George endured a lot before deciding it was probably best to walk away rather than risk further punishment.

- Backstage -
Nikolai Volkoff harassed a group of fans, preaching to them about the laziness of American society. Still felling the sting of his earlier loss, Hacksaw Jim Duggan charged at the Russian while swinging his 2X4! HOOOOOOO! After hearing about the altercation, Commissioner Albano said it would be interesting to watch the two men face each other at CFW Crowning Achievement.

Lou Thesz defeated 'Million Dollar Man' Ted DiBiase (w/ Jazz & Redd Dogg).
- Thesz gained the submission with a double wristlock. -- Tokens: DiBiase 3
- Thesz displayed nearly flawless technique and even interference by DiBiase's entourage was not enough to turn the tide.

'Nature Boy' Buddy Rogers defeated Handsome Harley Race.
- Rogers gained the submission with a FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE. -- Tokens: Race 2
- The referee made a judgement call and stopped the match when he felt that Race was unfit to continue. Race was not pleased and Rogers made a quick exit to avoid any post-match retaliation.

Next week...
The final eight - 'Mr Perfect' Curt Hennig, 'Superfly' Jimmy Snuka, 'Dr Death' Steve Williams, 'Macho Man' Randy Savage, Iron Sheik, Bruiser Brody, Lou Thesz and 'Nature Boy' Buddy Rogers - advance to the quarterfinals of the CFW Global Heavweight Championship tournament!

Interesting that you chose Sensational Sherri Martel to be Randy Savage's manager over Miss Elizabeth. Is that because you think SSM is a better heel manager that Miss Elizabeth? Just was wondering?

Bri - Unfortunately, Brody and Thesz can't meet in the final because they're both in the same semifinal bracket... But, maybe we'll see them square off nonetheless.

TTX - Thesz vs Rogers in the quarterfinals... Could give us the inevitable winner of the gold, for sure.

Crossbones - Actually, the reason I picked Sensational Sherri over Miss Elizabeth is simply because she's officially in the game... The women's Legends set is excellent and I can't wait to get that division started as well.
