Apparently NXT won for the first time this week 916,000 viewers to 893,000 viewers.

yeah, it's funny. I've been following the reports. The first few were all glowing about AEW... now this one is all excuses.. well, NXT won, but AEW won this demo, and there's a 10% margin of error. No one mentioned the margin of error when AEW won by less than 10%. It's true that WWE had alot of pre-advertised guys from the other shows around, but they can easily do that every week if they think it'll work.
What I think was discouraging was that the PPV (according to Observer at least) did sell any more than the pre-TV ones did.. that means they fan base isn't growing. It's too bad, because I think there's potential there, and it would be great to give WWE some competition just to push it to be better if nothing else.

Without any evidence to prove it, it sure seems now that Cody had Tony Kahn convinced he’d be able to sign guys like CM Punk, Randy Orton, Gallows and Anderson etc...when all this started. I know it's not happening(these things just can't be secret any more), but can you imagine the pop if Punk turned up at the Chicago show next week? I think if AEW was going to ever do anything close to challenging WWE, a top program of Jericho vs. Punk might just do the trick. That'd be better than Orton, even (I don't think alot of people tune in to see Randy Orton.. maybe female fans?) Anyone else that is today or yesterday's indy darling, or existing WWE mid carders, are just not going to move the needle all that much.

Mox & Darby was really good. That finish was badass. I was halfway expecting him to kick out since that's how things go in AEW. Too bad Darby isn't a bigger guy. He would go a lot further. As good as this match was, I've seen it multiple times in other promotions. Darby as the rag-dolled underdog - getting over by losing. It was just done better here with Mox involved. Hopefully, they don't overdo it and instead have him wrestle guys more his size. Other than that, this show was pretty much a waste of time. Another week where the undercard was sub par. It's going to end up like RAW when I was still watching it - just tune in for the last half hour to see if anything big happens. I really enjoyed the SCU/Jericho skit.... having the SCU guys do the Bugs Bunny thing to Jericho was awesome. I was thinking the same thing watching the match.. if Allin was like 6' 200, he's be a main event superstar. The guy is super fun to watch, but he's just not a credible threat. The Battle Royal was sadly predictable but it was hilarious having Billy Gunn do his best Andre the Giant impression. I agree they need to make the undercard more meaningful... the matches were decent, but they felt useless. Yeah, Darby Allin has charisma coming out of his pores. He's obviously creative and has a passion for the business. I just hope he can find a more realistic niche and not end up crippling himself. The idea for that battle royal was annoying. No winner. Or should I say two winners? It's like watching 8 innings of a baseball game then being asked to come back in a week to see the 9th. At least afterward they made an effort to hype up the match between MJF and Barry Windham. While it was humorous, the fact that it was Billy Gunn doing the Giant spot showed the sad state of there being a lack of big guys.

If Punk really does come back to the ring they better go sign the two MMA guys who beat him and pay them good money yo lay down for him in a wrestling ring like they did w Cain/Brock.

I think it’s more likely we see him in WWE at least doing the big shows now.

Yeah, I agree... much more likely he'll do a couple angles with WWE before he gets annoyed again and leaves.
I agree the 2 winners thing was weird, but much worse was the 'heel' hides outside and wins at the end' finish that's been done SO many times. MJF seems pretty good on the mic, but they've now been on TV for what, 9 weeks, and this is his first meaningful match.

Apparently Bazzy's not the only one who was impressed with her.. she's back this week. I have to say, I was kinda bored with the show... seems like they're waiting for something.
I REALLY hated Jungle Boy coming out for a title shot.. what happened to records mattering?
