Week 7
First off, I didn't see Full Gear.
Omega's fake black eye makes me want to call him Petey.
Mox vs Nakazawa
Mox looked really good. You can tell he's feeling it. Amazing what you get when you don't stifle the talent.
Dark Order v Jurassic Express
Cartoon match. This belongs in Chikara. Every spot involving Marko Stunt looked like sh**. They were totally carrying him and not very well. Please tell me this isn't going to become a program.
Darby Allin v Peter Avalon v Shawn Spears
I reckon Allin and Avalon could have a good match if "The Snoreman" weren't involved. Joey Janella arrived too late to save this match.
Darby v Mox? Could be interesting. While it should be a murder, I'm sure they'll have Darby do better than he probably should.
Nyla Rose v Danny Jordan
We had the child abuse portion of the show, now domestic violence takes the stage. At least this was mercifully short.
I don't know what is more played out, AEW using the lights out spot or Brandi Obama glomming onto someone else.
Jericho continues to knock it out of the park. Where would AEW be without this guy? He really should get that thank you that he was asking for.
Following up with the painfully predictable MJF heel turn. It just registers wrong in my head when heels get the fans booing them, then the fans turn around and start cheering said heels.
The botched powerslam by Cody(Jericho really): nothing looks worse than missing a spot except going right back to that spot again hoping that it will fix it. It doesn't.
The Warlow stuff. Why? Didn't we just go through this with Cody against Jericho? Guys going from one feud right into another is usually tedious. Give things a chance to breathe in between. And enough with the run-ins already. They are really starting to suffer from WCW-itus.
Page v PAC
This was alright. Bit more of a spot fest than I prefer.
Boring, protracted tag team brawl. More WCW-itus.
Jericho/Guevara v SCU
This was good. I'm not sure why they had SCU go over on Jericho though...
The undercard the last couple of episodes has been exceptionally weak. I'm not caught up on Dark, but maybe they should be using some of those matches instead? I was ready for this show to end about 90 minutes in, kinda left me less than interested in the main event.
