I saw last week's episode and I thought it was overall good. The main event was definitely a match that was violent by TV standards but actually far less violent compared to most of Nick Gage's matches.
On the way home from PWG on Sunday night, we listened to Cornette's review of last week's episode and Cornette really hated last week's episode, especially the opening elimination tag match which I think he spent more time ranting about than the match time itself. I laughed a little at some of the things he said such as he kept referring to Kenny Omega as "Twinkle Toes" and the Dark Order as the Dork Order (especially since I am also not a Dark Order fan) and he made some valid points too such as it is hypocritical to bash WWE for being goofy at times and then give AEW a pass for their opening basketball-themed match. But overall I think I prefer to hear Cornette discuss historical wrestling issues.

It was product placement for the entrance and trying to make a move fancy with a slam dunk indy taker (or meltzer driver whichever one is to the outside) Wwe get bashed when they go over the top like a zombie lumberjack match (especially when the zombies are slow and dumb to promote a film where zombies are fast and intelligent) Cornette is a dinosaur trying to stay relevant by pissing off Internet fans so he stays relevant. I give as much value to what Cornette says as I do to Meltzer (zero)

But overall I think I prefer to hear Cornette discuss historical wrestling issues. Kenny Omega seems like a totally different guy in AEW than he was during his NJPW run w the G1 and Okada and all that. I’ve seen some of his past work - the silly stuff - and he comes across a lot more like that in AEW/Impact than I ever remember him being during that run. He’s like a comedy character. Very similar to the Young Bucks. And he’s not translating as mainstream star like I thought he could become in WWE, I thought he was more like AJ Styles but he’s coming off more like a Tyler Breeze lately.

Like anyone else there are things he says I agree with and things I really don’t, But he’s pretty entertaining. Can’t say the same thing about vapid Meltzer.

I have actually stated on this board here that I did not like the zombies at Backlash: filsingergames.proboards.com/thread/22580/backlash-lumberjack-matchBut for the record, in that movie, although some of the zombies and especially their leadership are quick and somewhat intelligent, many of the zombies are slow and mindless and they are referred to as Shamblers in the movie.

That’s not much better than using zombies to promote Batista. I hate that Omega is a comedy character in AEW. Uhg.

I get why people wouldn’t like Omega’s dorky character. I’ve started to enjoy it a little more (maybe because he’s w Don Callis), but it can be so over the top at times. It’s a weird gimmick for a world champ for sure. But his wrestling backs it all up for me. If he hasn’t had the NJPW 17 ⭐️ quality matches, it has more to do w the Japanese presentation than Kenny’s abilities. .

I'm sorry but they need to stop her doing it for her own safety. From memory this is the 4th or 5th time in AEW I've seen her botch it. Usually she catches them with her head or an arm just but if she keeps on like that she's gonna break her neck or at the very least her face
