LWF WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING WORLD ARENA, COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO MONDAY, MAY 25, 2009
*****RESULTS*****
(Card source key: low=Filsinger’s Legends Of Wrestling; low-b=Legends Of Wrestling Bootlegs; low-m=Legends Of Wrestling Memphis Bootlegs)
DARK MATCH “RAVISHING” RICK RUDE (low) beat “The MORMON GIANT” DON LEO JONATHAN (low) with the Rude Awakening finisher (Referee: Ron West)
ABC & The LWF Present WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING on ABC-TV (9 p.m. Eastern/8 p.m. Central, two hours, hosted by Gordon Solie & Jim Ross, “Mean Gene” Okerlund & Gary Michael Cappetta)
Before the opening titles, in honor of Memorial Day, Gary Michael Cappetta asked the veterans in attendance to stand and be recognized for the sacrifices they made for our country, and they received a huge ovation. He then asked for a moment of silence for those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of this nation.
Prior to the opening contest, Gordon Solie and Jim Ross acknowledged the media reports the past week about the scheduling snafu that resulted in both World Class Championship Wrestling and the Denver Nuggets-Los Angeles Lakers NBA playoff game being scheduled for the same night at the Pepsi Arena. Solie said he was pleased to report that, last Wednesday, the LWF graciously made an offer to Nuggets owner Stan Kroncke to relocate tonight’s TV to Colorado Springs, where tomorrow night’s Prime Time Championship Wrestling was already scheduled to take place, so much of the necessary equipment and manpower was already present. Ross said it was hard work getting relocated on such short notice, but the terms were satisfactory to both sides, and the LWF thanked the fans for their patience and wished both the Nuggets and Lakers well tonight. He also thanked Kroncke for being such a gracious businessman.
LWF WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP, 10-MINUTE TIME LIMIT Champion and National Tag Team Co-Champion “IRON” MIKE DIBIASE (low) beat “CHIEF” JAY STRONGBOW (low-b) with the Top Rope Knee Drop finisher to retain the belt (Referee: Johnny “REd Shoes“ Dugan)
The IRON SHEIK (low) beat READY (w/ Boss Winters) (low-m) with a Vertical Suplex (Referee: David Manning) --As last week, Sheik put the Camel Clutch on Ready, and, when Winters tried to pull him off, Sheik put Winters in the hold. The referee had to threaten to reverse the decision before Sheik would let go. Sheik then took the mic and did his “U.S.A., HOCK! POOEY!” routine. Once again, Abdullah Farouk could be seen underneath the LegendsVision screen, studying the scene closely.
“SUPERSTAR” BILL DUNDEE (low-b) beat FABULOUS FREEBIRD MICHAEL “P.S.” HAYES (low-b) (w/ “Big Red” April Hunter) (low) with a Big Splash (Referee: Gilberto Roman)
At the interview platform just outside the entrance, Gene Okerlund interviewed Abdullah Farouk, accompanied by his protégé, The Sheik. Farouk gloated about the damage Sheik did to Hacksaw Jim Duggan last week with his own signature 2x4. Suddenly, Duggan appeared, nailing Sheik with the lumber and narrowly missing the escaping Farouk. Duggan then got on the platform with Okerlund and challenged Sheik to a 2x4 on a Pole Match next week, live on World Class Championship Wrestling.
MAURICE “MAD DOG” VACHON (low) (w/ Nikita Breznikov) (low) beat GEORGE SOUTH (low) with a Jumping Knee Drop (Referee: Dave Hebner) --During this match, Solie and Ross reported that Farouk had accepted Duggan challenge on behalf of The Sheik.
“LIVING LEGEND” LARRY ZBYSZKO (low) beat National Tag Team Co-Champion PEDRO MORALES (low-b) with a Knee Smash (Referee: Mark Curtis)
At the interview platform, Okerlund interviewed the National Tag Team Champions, Mike Dibiase & Pedro Morales. Morales acknowledged his loss to Zbyszko but said that, as a team, he and Dibiase are “ready for any kind of action.” This brought out Bobby Heenan and his team of Adrian Adonis & Jesse Ventura, the East-West Connection. Heenan challenged the champions to a title match, but Dibiase said, “Heenan, your men don’t exactly have the best won-lost record lately. I’ll tell you what. We’ll wrestle your boys next week, but we won’t put the belts on the line. If you want a title match, you’ll have to beat us next week.” Heenan said his team’s record speaks for itself, though he acknowledged his team’s recent lack of success. He added, “If we DON’T beat you next week, then maybe Jesse and Adrian don’t deserve to be together.” This caught Adonis and Ventura by surprise, and they argued with Heenan after the end of the interview.
FABULOUS FREEBIRD TERRY “BAMM BAMM” GORDY (low-b) (w/ “Big Red” April Hunter) (low) and JERRY “The KING” LAWLER (low-b) fought to a double-disqualification when Michael Hayes, Buddy Roberts and Bill Dundee all jumped into the ring for an all-out melee (Referee: James Beard)
The “INTELLIGENT SENSATIONAL” DESTROYER (low) (w/ “Sir” Oliver Humperdink) (low) beat “CHIEF” JAY STRONGBOW (low-b) with the Figure Four Leglock finisher (Referee: Scrappy McGowan)
LWF WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING MAIN EVENT--NON-TITLE MATCH RIKIDOZAN (low) beat LWF National Champion LOU THESZ (low-b) with the Thunderous Chops finisher, opening the champion’s forehead open and causing Thesz to bleed profusely (Referee: Nick Patrick)
NEXT WEEK’S SHOWS: 6/1/09--LWF WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING, Birmingham, Alabama 6/2/09--LWF PRIME TIME CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING, Memphis, Tennessee

LWF PRIME TIME CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING WORLD ARENA, COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO TUESDAY, MAY 26, 2009
*****RESULTS*****
(Card source key: low=Filsinger’s Legends Of Wrestling; low-b=Legends Of Wrestling Bootlegs; low-m=Legends Of Wrestling Memphis Bootlegs)
DARK MATCH “The MORMON GIANT” DON LEO JONATHAN (low) beat “RAVISHING” RICK RUDE (low) with an Atomic Drop (Referee: Dick Woherle)
ABC Family & The LWF Present PRIME TIME CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING on ABC-TV (8 p.m. Eastern / 7 p.m. Central, two hours, hosted by Mike Tenay & Larry Matysik, Bill Apter & Howard Finkel)
At the top of the broadcast, Mike Tenay announced that there has been an incident outside the World Arena, and cameras were being sent to cover the breaking story, though no details were given at the moment.
LWF WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH, 10-MINUTE TIME LIMIT Champion and LWF National Tag Team Co-Champion “IRON” MIKE DIBIASE (low) beat “The TERRIBLE TURK” YOUSSUF ISHMAELO (low) by disqualification when Ishmaelo would not release his Stranglehold finisher by the count of five; Dibiase retains the belt (Referee: David Manning)
Tenay sent the broadcast to cameras in the back, where, apparently, the Fantastics, Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers, had been attacked in the World Arena parking lot. Both men were bloody and being attended to, with Fulton seemingly with the worst of it. EMT’s were wrapping a bandage around Fulton’s head. No one was able to yet determine what exactly happened, but the Fantastics were scheduled for a match later in the night.
“PLAYBOY” BUDDY ROSE (low) beat The PINK PANTHER (low-m) with a Sleeper Hold (Referee: Jerry Calhoun) --When Howard Finkel introduced Rose at a weight of 271 pounds, Rose corrected him. “Mr. Announcer, please tell the good people of Colorado Springs and the millions of TV viewers that I weigh in at a slim, trim 217 pounds.” Finkel then made the correction, albeit with a bit of sarcasm in his voice that Rose apparently did not notice. Rose won his debut match rather easily.
COUSIN LUKE (low) & S.D. “SPECIAL DELIVERY” JONES (low) beat The FANTASTICS (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) (low-b) when Jones beat Fulton with the Head Butt finisher (Referee: Bronko Lubich) --The former World Tag Team Champions started out like a house afire, but their injuries caught up to them, especially Fulton’s head injuries, when he fell victim to Jones’ signature head butt. Luke and Jones celebrated as security helped Fulton and Rogers to the back. Meanwhile, with Luke and Jones still in the ring, Big John Studd, with Bobby Heenan, came out, and Studd proceeded to catch both men in his Backbreaker, leaving them laying. Heenan took the mic and complained about Studd not having a match tonight. “I want the matchmakers of the LWF to reconsider their failure to book the big Studd in a match tonight. People are going to get hurt, and these two ham-and-eggers are only the beginning.”
ED “STRANGLER” LEWIS (low) (w/ “Captain” Lou Albano) (low) beat “BIRDMAN” KOKO B. WARE (low) with the Strangler’s Headlock finisher (Referee: Scrappy McGowan)
GEORGE SOUTH (low) beat “The TERRIBLE TURK” YOUSSUF ISHMAELO (low) by disqualification when Ishmaelo would not release his Stranglehold finisher by the count of five (Referee: Nick Patrick)
LWF NORTH AMERICAN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH FRANK GOTCH (low) & “NATURE BOY” BUDDY ROGERS (low) (w/ LWF Women’s World Champion Sherri Martel) (low) beat Champions “MR. U.S.A.” TONY ATLAS (low-b) & “SOULMAN” ROCKY JOHNSON (low-b) when Rogers beat Atlas with a pin using the ropes to win the belts (Referee: Johnny “Red Shoes“ Dugan)
LWF PRIME TIME CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING MAIN EVENT--NON-TITLE MATCH BOB BACKLUND (low-b) (w/ “Captain“ Lou Albano) (low) beat “SUPERFLY” JIMMY SNUKA (low) with the Crossface Chicken Wing finisher (Referee: Gilberto Roman)
