Yea Lions shouldn't be on that list. Not their fault no one started the AFL till years later. The NFL is celebrating 100 years not 54. There was NFL before the Super Bowl.
As a Detroit fan which includes the Tigers I want to tell the Nationals and Astros, who will be joining them in the WS after tomorrow, you are welcome. Three of our former pitchers have helped them get there this year. Sigh we used to be good.

Lots of talk about the Patriots and Tom Brady having won the most Super Bowls (along with the Steelers) at 6 and now going for #7 this year. But even if they get it, I believe it still puts New England behind the Packers (13 championships,) Bears (9 championships,) and Giants (8 championships.)

Football might be the only major sport, at least in NA, that almost has two eras that are considered separate from each other. Many fans act like what happened before the first SB, which as we all know wasn't even named that, is not part of the NFL history.

The Browns have also won some championships in the NFL and the AAFL but none during the Super Bowl era.

Now that the Washington Nationals have made the World Series, I saw this list of teams from the 4 major professional sports leagues who have never made it to the finals of their league: MLBSeattle Mariners NFLCleveland Browns Detroit Lions Houston Texans Jacksonville Jaguars (for the Super Bowl era) NBACharlotte Hornets Denver Nuggets Los Angeles Clippers Memphis Grizzlies Minnesota Timberwolves New Orleans Pelicans NHLArizona Coyotes Columbus Blue Jackets Winnipeg Jets The Winnipeg Jets in 2018 though would have made the Stanley Cup Finals if they did not lose in the Western Conference Finals to my team VGK who thus made the Stanley Cup in their first year. Of all the teams listed above, I think the team currently most likely to be crossed of that list next is the Los Angeles Clippers. I could definitely be wrong but I don't think the Minnesota Wild have ever been in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Cool to see the Nationals make the World Series. I'll probably be cheering for them as I watch this year.

Nationals take Game 1 in Houston.

Well that puts them around a 63% chance of taking the series now.

Wow, after going up 2-0 the Nationals proceeded to lose the next 3 World Series games all of which were home games. The only way the Nationals can win the World Series now is if it turns out no team for the entire series managed to win a home game (home teams are 0-5 with the remainder of the series being played in Houston.)
