Week 4 - Night 1
The show opens with a camera peeking around the corner to see Brute and Massacre discussing something with Comrade Terror. Looks like currency of some kind is being passed to Terror? Brute sees the camera first and gives chase as the camera cuts to black.
INTERPLANETARY LEAGUE: Commander Sam def. Renegade with the Peacemaker
(*½, Sam 2-2, 6 pts; Renegade 1-3, 3 pts)
Sam was able to power out after taking Renegade’s Cropper Slam. The less-seasoned Renegade gave Sam a good test, but Sam avoided another loss after successfully hitting the Peacemaker slingshot.
---
Pit Viper is shown warming up for tonight’s match with Ghengis Khan as Lord Nexus speaks for his fellow Flying Titan: “My man’s been waiting for this a long time. Chickens come home to roost for Ghengis Khan tonight.
“I’ve got a prediction: One VENOM BLAST and Khan’s on his ass!”
---
INTERPLANETARY LEAGUE: Executioner def. Killer Queen with the HEADSMAN GUILLOTINE
(***, Executioner 3-1, 9 pts; KQ 2-2, 6 pts)
Styles clashed in this IP League bout, but Killer Queen couldn’t take the bigger opponent off his feet. Perhaps some could even feel empathy for Killer Queen as he was resilient (5 tokens) in a losing effort.
INTERPLANETARY LEAGUE: Pit Viper def. Ghengis Khan with the VENOM BLAST
(½*, Khan 3-1, 9 pts; Pit Viper 3-1, 9 pts)
Khan, willing to finish what he started as the mastermind of the infamous attack on the former Dragonmaster, charged recklessly out of the corner to start the match.
Pit Viper waited for his moment and then jumped in the air, lifting his knee square into Khan’s face!
Khan was knocked out cold!
POST-MATCH, Pit Viper raised a fist in victory, as the crowd roared. Viper turned and gestured at the unconscious Ghengis Khan, talking trash as he stepped over him to leave the ringside area. Lord Nexus met him at the entrance way, raising each other’s arms in victory for the Flying Titans!
GALAXY LEAGUE: Proteus def. Comrade Terror via disqualification
(**, Proteus 2-2, 6 pts; Comrade Terror 2-2, 6 pts)
Terror, knowing that Proteus wasn’t 100 percent, got a little carried away, refusing to release the Comrade Neck Clutch when Proteus reached the ropes.
POST-MATCH, Terror hit Proteus with the ATOMIC WARHEAD for good measure. Wait... was this the Gladiators’ plan all along?!?!
GALAXY LEAGUE: Brute def. Invincible Krakan with a running clothesline
(*½, Brute 2-2, 6 pts; Krakan 1-3, 3 pts)
It’s the Gladiators’ world right now, and everyone else is living in it. Brute + momentum = bad news for anyone, even the tough-as-nails Invincible Krakan.
POST-MATCH, Brute stayed in the ring to welcome his tag partner, Massacre, to the ring for Massacre’s match with Actagon. Actagon, predictably, did not come down to the ring with Proteus.
GALAXY LEAGUE: Massacre (w/ Brute) def. Actagon with an atomic knee drop
(DUD, Massacre 4-0, 12 pts; Actagon 2-2, 6 pts)
Since the match between Proteus and Brute in Week 3, the Gladiators have gone 3-0 against the Greek Gods. These Gods are now merely men in the presence of the Gladiators, and Actagon appeared demoralized to not have his partner in his corner. Massacre continues his undefeated streak atop the Galaxy League.
Night 2
INTERPLANETARY LEAGUE: Beast-Rider def. Mutant via disqualification
(Beast-Rider 2-2, 6 pts; Mutant 0-4, 0 pts)
Mutant and disqualifications: Name a more iconic duo. Once again, the villain got his comeuppance for his flagrant rule-breaking when Beast-Rider gave him a BULLDOG RIDE after the match.
---
Xavier “Goody” Goodman tries to get something out of Wolf, finding him in an arena hallway and asking him about his thought process at 0-3 going into tonight’s match against Massif. Wolf’s eyes pierce through Goody and Goody takes a couple steps back.
Massif enters into the camera shot as it pans up. Massif offers a meaty palm: “May the best man win toni-”
Wolf slaps Massif’s hand away, roaring at Massif as Goody flinches. Wolf walks off, and Massif watches him leave, nodding and smiling to himself.
---
INTERPLANETARY LEAGUE: Vanity def. Death Knight with a rollup
(FLASH PIN, Vanity 2-2, 6 pts; Death Knight 1-3, 3 pts)
Death Knight’s odds of advancing to the Galaxy League are not looking great. The first pinning predicament Death Knight found himself in turned out to be the last. May there be mercy shown to the fans in attendance for the Death Knight/Mutant matchup later this season.
INTERPLANETARY LEAGUE: Omega def. Pulsar with the TOMAHAWK THRUST
(½, Omega 3-1, 9 pts; Pulsar 2-2, 6 pts)
While this match won’t win any year-end awards, fans were nonetheless happy to see familiar faces like Omega and Pulsar. Pulsar was outsmarted by the veteran here, and Omega suddenly found himself tied atop the Interplanetary League!
In the ring prior to his match with Star Warrior, Exo-King showed Star Warrior’s loss to Lord Nexus on the HoloVision screen. Exo-King laughed as the GWF fans booed this cheap shot, but Star Warrior didn’t seem upset by it coming down to the ring.
GALAXY LEAGUE: Star Warrior def. Exo-King with a flying dropkick
(*, Star Warrior 2-1-1, 7 pts; Exo-King 2-2, 6 pts)
A nice win to get Star Warrior back on track, as the superstar was locked in and made short work of Thantos’ henchman. No fireworks after the match or really any sign of high emotion from Star Warrior after the match, slapping hands with a few younger fans but keeping a poker face as he left the ringside area.
---
Lord Nexus with “Goody” on Pit Viper’s flash win last night: “That’s just where the Flying Titans are at, flying high, confidence is high. So Goody, I’ve got another prediction for tonight. When Thantos feels the TITAN DROP, the crowd’s gonna pop!”
---
GALAXY LEAGUE: Wolf def. Massif with the SAVAGE FACE CLAW
(****, Wolf 1-3, 3 pts; Massif 1-3, 3 pts)
The phrase “death by a thousand cuts” comes to mind with this match. Wolf was very aggressive in this match with one of the Federation Defense Fighters, but the big man would not stay down. Perhaps Massif thought that he could quell the anger in Wolf by just letting him get out his frustrations.
Massif was willing to scrap it up with the Wolf, taking the match outside the ring often and slowly starting to show a little frustration himself. Massif’s lip was busted open by a Wolf elbow during one of these out-of-the-ring brawls.
But once Wolf went for the SAVAGE FACE CLAW, the tone in the ring changed.
Massif blocked an initial attempt and Massif took the handcuffs off, now willing to do what it took to keep Wolf down. The result was an entertaining see-saw battle, but one where Massif had given up too much in the early going to put Wolf in danger. The end saw Massif with Wolf in a bear hug as Wolf dug his paw into Massif’s face, locking on the SAVAGE FACE CLAW. The bear hug was broken and Massif immediately submitted to try and get out of trouble.
POST-MATCH, Wolf did not release the hold, and the Federation Defense Fighters led a charge of GWF security down to the ring to finally pry Wolf off Massif. A low buzz washed over the fans in the arena as security surrounded Massif to protect him, with Commander Sam pointing sternly at Wolf and saying something that couldn’t be (or perhaps for standards and practices purposes, shouldn’t be) picked up by the cameras. Wolf slithered out of the ring without taking his eyes off Sam or the other FDF members, baring his teeth and giving a howl when he reached the entrance way, with doctors coming to the ring now to check on Massif.
---
Before tonight's main event, “Goody” was able to get a rare interview with Thantos, but wasted it on a question about Lord Nexus coming off his upset win with Star Warrior and Nexus’ prediction for Thantos. Thantos stared at Goodman for a moment and then gave a chuckle and went to the ring with a grin.
---
GALAXY LEAGUE: Thantos def. Lord Nexus with the MASTERLOCK
(**½; Thantos 3-0-1, 10 pts; Lord Nexus 1-3, 3 pts)
Nexus delighted the fans with some high-flying early on, but once Thantos grounded the Flying Titan it was lights out for Lord Nexus, tapping to the MASTERLOCK.
POST-MATCH, Thantos immediately demanded a microphone.
“There’s been a lot of talking about predictions this week. Well, I’ve got some predictions too. I predict that this Flying Chump--”
Thantos kicks Nexus hard in the ribs while he’s on the ground.
“--this chump won’t be making any more predictions about the Gamesmaster!”
Another kick to the ribs as the official pleads for mercy, rolling Nexus out of the ring and hightailing it himself.
“I predict that all of you will soon come to understand what a fraud the Federation Defense Fighters are, when they can’t even protect one of their own from that Andromedan mutt!”
Some light boos from Wolf’s die-hard fans, but most not knowing what to make of Wolf’s attack tonight.
“You see, I broke the GWF’s precious Galactic Code so that another Code could be written, one that understands the necessity of punching Star Warrior in his jaw any time I can get my hands on him!”
The boos grow in volume as Thantos laughs, climbing the turnbuckles so everyone can see him.
“I’ve got one final prediction: I predict that each and every one of you will bow to me, you will all worship ME! Because I will be Galaxy...League...Champion.”
The broadcast fades to black as boos rain down on Thantos.

Week 4 headlines

Logjam atop Interplanetary League
After PIT VIPER'S sudden victory over GHENGIS KHAN, four wrestlers are tied atop the Interplanetary League! Only two can receive guaranteed spots in the 2088 Galaxy League? Will it be GHENGIS KHAN, OMEGA, PIT VIPER or EXECUTIONER? Four more superstars are one win behind, so it may truly be anyone's league to win!
Society of Death vowing revenge
INVINCIBLE KRAKAN delivered a straight-forward message after last week's embarrassing loss for Ghengis Khan and the Society of Death: "The Flying Titans will have their wings clipped by the Society of Death sooner rather than later." The SoD went 0-3 last week, but they're a group that's at their most dangerous when they have nothing left to lose!
Injury updates
PROTEUS did not incur any further damage to his already existing injuries after the match with COMRADE TERROR this week, other than not being able to even the odds for MASSACRE'S match with ACTAGON.
MASSIF'S busted lip will be the worst of the damage received from WOLF as GWF security and the Federation Defense Fighters were thankfully able to intervene in time to avoid further damage.
Tensions growing between FDF, Wolf
COMMANDER SAM issued this statement after the controversial post-match attack by WOLF on MASSIF:
"We have been sympathetic to Wolf's fight against the Gladiators and hope that we can soon learn the identity of this mysterious third Gladiator that appears to have returned to the shadows. However, we will not tolerate attacks on one of our own. We have asked GWF officials to not pursue a suspension against Wolf -- we will settle this in the ring if it comes to that. We hope Wolf can see that we are on his side, that he does not have to fight Brute and Massacre or any Gladiators of Aethra alone."
Week 5 marquee matchups
Galaxy League, WOLF vs. PROTEUS: Proteus seemed uneasy at the subject of this matchup against someone that he has maintained an uneasy alliance with.
Interplanetary League, COMMANDER SAM vs. EXECUTIONER and OMEGA vs. KILLER QUEEN: Two matchups between 3-1 superstars in Executioner and Omega and two opponents that are one win behind and looking to join the fray at the top of the IP League Standings.
