I am in Seattle this weekend. I did not realize until the last minute that the Seattle Dragons had a home game today or else I would have gone. In downtown Seattle today I did see multiple people wearing Seattle Dragons gear. If the airport is selling Dragons shirts tomorrow when I fly out (I doubt it as the airport usually only sells Seahawks and Mariners shirts,) I will buy one.

When the XFL announced that its 2020 season had ended, the league said it would return in 2021. That no longer appears to be the case.

Several XFL employees confirmed on social media today that the whole staff of the XFL was informed that they’re being laid off during a conference call.

Although there has not been an official announcement about the 2021 season, it certainly looks like there will be no more XFL at all.

This was Vince McMahon’s second attempt to start the XFL, and he insisted heading into the 2020 season that he had learned from his mistakes in 2001 and was ready to fund the league for multiple seasons. But after a strong first weekend, the XFL saw its television audiences steadily decline, and by the time the COVID-19 pandemic forced the 2020 season to end, there were questions about whether the league could return for 2021 even if the public health situation made it feasible.

Now that there are growing concerns that we could still be a long way off from seeing professional sports again, the XFL has decided to cut its losses and close up shop.

Well XFL is all but dead. They filed for Chapter 11. Only chance for survival is if someone buys it.

A legit Gravity Ball game would be outstanding. The only thing I love as much as wrestling is football. Would be great fun to come up with the rule book.

Haha ... I would actually love that as well. I know Tom and I both had a lot of love for Strat o magic baseball. Would love to see a Football/Gravityball game.

I mean we have had some gravityballers like Quasar and I think Overtime. Would be a fun extra thing for people. Future sets would be draft classes lol.

So quick thoughts ... (I may have contemplated this very thing during the quarantine lol) ...
- follow the XFL with 8 teams to start.
- Do you do cards for each player or do you do cards for teams and make them editable? Might be easier to condense teams to 5 players like basketball or hockey.

- First set is forty players and you can draft teams. Maybe as a group we come up with the teams that way everyone can use the same teams or you can create your own.

- I say keep cards kind of similar to GWF since you still have offense and defense except your moving a ball down the field. Your finisher is now a scoring attempt instead of a pinfall. Not sure how defense would work to block the score though.

I dont know just some thoughts I've had, it sucks to be unemployed ...

No real surprise XFL died for a 2nd time , costing too much money ?. Never seen one match sadly .

PLAAY Games has a football game and a free PDF download of the 2020 XFL teams. (I think you can buy the 2001 XFL teams). But no Gravity Ball games. 😀
