June 8, 2091
Sparks. Lasers. Smoke. Explosions. And a pulsing theme...
Yeah, I get it, you're an outcast, always under attack,Always coming in last, bringing up the past,No one owes you anything!I think you need a shotgun blast, a kick in the ass,So paranoid, watch your back!Oh my, here we go...Barbed Wire Cage Match: The Road Warriors vs. The Miracle Violence Connection
Referee: Joey Marella
* The Road Warriors attacked their opponent's before the bell, while Williams and Gordy were still removing their ring gear.
* It was only a matter of minutes before the
blood started flowing, as Terry Gordy raked Animal's face across the barbed wire cage.
* Gordy was the next to wear the
crimson mask when Hawk tossed him face-first into the treacherous cage.
* Steve Williams was
busted open by a stiff right hand across the eyebrow by Hawk.
* Despite the wanton violence being inflicted, some shrewd defense by both teams (and Joey Marella's slow counts) kept the match going.
* A savage face rake by Williams left Hawk
bleeding from his left eye.
* Despite the
bloody mess covering their faces, Hawk and Animal connected with the DOOMSDAY DEVICE on Gordy to seal the deal.
WINNERS: The Road Warriors via pinfall (14:28) *****
CWA Holovision Title Match: Randy "Macho Man" Savage (with Cherie Dupré) (ch) vs. Curt HennigReferee: Dick Woehrle
* The champion threw out the rulebook early, transitioning from a collar-and-elbow tie-up to a chokehold within the first fifteen seconds of the match.
* Hennig broke free and slapped Savage across the face, drawing the ire of the Macho Man.
* Savage's eyes bulged with anger and he chased Hennig all the way to the arena floor.
* Once there, Savage grabbed his title belt from the timekeeper and clocked Hennig across the head.
* The super-strict referee called for the bell immediately.
WINNER: Curt Hennig via disqualification (4:45) *½
Bill Apter's Hot Seat featuring JJ Dillon and three out of Four Horsemen * Apter welcomed his guests to the set, sans Buddy Rogers, who was still rehabbing the neck injury he received at the hands of Nick Bockwinkel.
* The host dove right into the hard questions, asking Dillon why he thought his "elite" team was having trouble winning matches.
* Mike Rotunda, Barry Windham, and Tully Blanchard immediately surrounded Apter, while Dillon threatened him.
* Before any harm could be done,
"Ravishing" Rick Rude's music hit and Bobby "the Brain" Heenan led Rude, Meng, and Ricky Steamboat to the set.
* Heenan wasted no time in telling Dillon that the "Horsebutts" are a relic, and that the future was the Heenan Family.
* Dillon took great offense (duh), and poked Heenan in the chest...only to have Rude grab his finger.
* Thus provoked, Blanchard shoved Rude, and the New Islanders and the team of Windham and Rotunda immediately fell to blows.
You know it's the MacMilitant...Coming to get it on... * The General Manager walked to the set with purpose and a microphone in hand.
* He declared that no one would be disrupting
Last Stand in Salt Lake City.
* The GM observed that the Horsemen and the Heenan Family seemed to be in the mood for a fight...
* ..."and 'Genie' Teddy Long is going to make your wishes come true."
* He booked a six-main tag team match for the very first show in Seattle pitting the Horsemen (sans Rogers) against Heenan's men (save Harley Race).
* Demanding that the sound guy hit his music, Long happily danced his way to the back while the crowd cheered and Heenan and Dillon fumed.
CWA World Tag Team Title Match: The Midnight Express (with Jim Cornette and Big Bubba Rogers) (ch) vs. The FantasticsReferee: Danny Davis
* After a brief discussion among Cornette and his men, "Loverboy" Dennis Condrey took his place on the floor, sending Stan Lane and Bobby Eaton into battle.
* The Fantastics started out very strong, dominating Eaton with blistering tags and double-team offense.
* Within two minutes, Eaton rolled to the floor to consult with his manager and teammates.
* As Eaton climbed back into the ring, he walked right into a TOMIKAZE by Tommy Rogers, but Lane dove into the ring to break up the pin.
* Bobby Fulton tagged in for a ROCKET LAUNCHER and a pin, but this time Big Bubba Rogers landed a big splash that wounded both Fulton and Eaton.
* Almost immediately, Hillbilly Jim rushed out, rolled into the ring, and attacked Bubba.
* Meanwhile, the Fantastics and the Midnight Express began laying into one another with punches.
* Try as he might, Danny Davis could not restore order, leaving him with only one alternative.
NO WINNERS: Double Disqualification (6:39) **
The Crusher vs. The Iron SheikReferee: Morgan Dollar
* Crusher obviously meant business, as he nailed his opponent with a throat punch as the Sheik closed to lock up.
* Then another, and another, sending the Sheik tumbling to the floor while Dollar warned Crusher about his illegal tactics.
* The Sheik climbed back into the ring, holding up his hands to try and quiet the raucous crowd.
* This proved to be a distraction, as he kicked Crusher in the knee as soon as he was within range and immediately locked on the CAMEL CLUTCH.
* Crusher managed to power out of the hold (!), struggled to his feet, and immediately unloaded with another throat punch.
* The Sheik was able to turn things around and hit a few kicks and a knife edge chop...then he spat in Crisher's face!
* The man who made Milwaukee famous immediately hit another throat punch, making the cover for a two-count.
* The Sheik absorbed a bit of punishment before reversing a whip into the corner, climbing the turnbuckles, and delivering ten punches to Crusher's head.
* Crusher stumbled forward and collapsed, and the Sheik dropped a knee across the back of his neck and made the cover for three.
WINNER: The Iron Sheik via pinfall (10:34) ***
CWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: "Handsome" Harley Race (with Bobby "the Brain" Heenan) (ch) vs. ? ? ?Referee: James Beard
* The champion and his manager made their way to the ring with no sign of the challenger.
* Heenan was incensed, grabbing the microphone from Gary Michael Cappetta and demanding to know what was going on.
* "I'm not just some chump manager like JJ Dillon - I'm 'the Brain,' and I need to know these things."
* He was interrupted when strange music began playing from the loudspeakers. Strange music... Foreign music... Sudanese music...
CWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: "Handsome" Harley Race (with Bobby "the Brain" Heenan) (ch) vs. Abdullah the ButcherReferee: still James Beard
* There were no words to express Heenan's outrage as the challenger made his way to the ring.
* Race, on the other hand, simply handed his title belt to the referee and confidently awaited Abdullah.
* Once the bell sounded, Race went on the attack immediately, throwing knees and punches into his challenger's ample midsection.
* The Butcher shrugged these blows off and immediately went to his trusty fork, stabbing Race in the head.
* Over the next five or six minutes, there wasn't a rule in the book that Abdullah didn't break, all of it allowed by the lenient official.
* A chair shot across the head dimmed Race's lights and left him easy prey for a cover, but he kicked out at two.
* The Butcher hauled Race off the mat and bit his forehead so severely that
blood was drawn.
* Race rolled to the floor to recover, and Abdullah followed, swinging the dented chair one more time.
* The champion ducked the chair and hit his opponent with a nasty low blow.
* Back in the ring, A DIVING HEAD BUTT only put Abdullah down for one, but it drew
blood from his scarred forehead.
* Race managed to power the challenger up for a PILEDRIVER, but Abdullah kicked out at two!
* Nonplussed, Race hit another PILEDRIVER, and there was no escape for the challenger.
