Everyone stay safe...this is crazy and unprecedented for our lifetimes. As a memeber of the military I know what it means to take precautions, but this is pretty extreme, but I think it is warranted. Do you best to follow the advice of the CDC...it's likely just starting so we need to relax and do the best we can to support each other (and roll dice as often as we can!)
I haven't seen the roads in DC this clear...EVER! Positive side effect of the stay at home suggestion...
Which not everyone is doing, including the wife and I. We had to go to the store so we went into D.C. first to see the cherry blossoms blooming at the tidal pool (not nearly as packed as last year, but lots of folks out down there). She had talked about doing this since we knew we were being stationed here, so we kinda had to go...since we don't know if we will be here next year.

I know some people think this is overblown due to more people having died from the flu than this. The thing is the flu has a vaccine. This does not yet and won't for over a year. Also the flu is killing about .01% of people who catch it while COVID-19 is killing about 3%. That's 300 times as many. So if same amount people catch this as the flu instead of 34,000 deaths like 18-19 flu season we would have over 10,000,000. If we do things right we will think it was for nothing due to low deaths. Let's hope that happens.
FYI for anyone 65 and over many stores are doing hours just for you. Usually an hour or so in the morning on one or two days. Check with your local store.

My wife has something like 4 people in her building that have it so far. They've contacted the people that were most likely to have had direct contact with those people and luckily my wife wasn't contacted but who knows if they could have been in a bathroom at the same time or whatever. I'm not crazy worried about us catching it. I'm fairly confident we'd recover but my wife's father has a history of chronic pneumonia. We're really worried what could happen if he were to catch it. She also has 2 grandparents that are in their late '90s.
I know some don't seem to be concerned about this thing but it's a very real thing to be concerned about. It's more contagious than the flu, stays hidden for days before you even know you have it (while still being contagious that whole time) and is far more deadly than the flu. It's really best to do what you can to minimize the spread, even if you aren't worried about catching it yourself.

I'm all right but I knew someone who died from it, not real well my wife knew him pretty good. Hits a little close to home considering the little town I'm from.

Yep. Just going to work and home. A couple quick trips to the store for food. Trying to keep straight restrictions as they vary from county to county and city to city. With the governor would make the call and have it all the same state wide.

Yeppers...over what I had the other day... work is slowing down as a lot of places are closing down...or I am limiting exposure by moving my calls around a little bit. On time off, we have been self isolating a little bit by staying home (only going to grocery store and gas station when needed)... I'm an introvert and am going a little bit nutsoid staying home this much Rolling the dice a lot (mostly my son's fed...played like nearly 80-100 cards since first week of January...its crazy!) and we decided to take this weekend off to assure that werefresh batteries a little- some of the matches back in the day were awful to play through e.g. Asylum vs. Cosmic Forces ugh! Reading a lot...painting minis...or just watching something on streaming...or bothering Tournament Master or Swarm Stay safe everyone!

Mostly trying to stay sane as it's boring not to have anything to look forward to. Hopefully G-Con will still go on as planned so I have something to look forward. Otherwise, staying safe and working on a couple projects.

Status Check: How is everyone doing?
Other than getting really tired of my house, I'm doing good. My wife and I are getting used to staying out of each other's way and taking turns with our infant son. This is the longest I've gone without wearing shoes other than sandals since I was a kid.
