On Facebook tonight, I saw an advertisement for the puzzle pictured below (in different sizes of 500 pieces, 1,000 pieces, or 1,500 pieces) which made me think of this thread:

Excellent puzzle, wow!
I added my votes on the poll here: Christine, 11/23/63, and The Dead Zone were my choices.
I read Christine shortly after the John Carpenter movie came out by the same name, interesting how Carpenter cut most of the occult stuff that's in the book. I bought the Kennedy novel about a year ago and watched the mini-series, interesting stuff! I got The Dead Zone after watching the excellent Christopher Walken movie directed by David Cronenberg ("Scanners" fame)! I read that book at least 3 times, loved the movie! Haven't seen the Anthony Michael Hall TV series...
Currently, I just started "Mr. Mercedes" this past Friday, it looks well-thoughtout from the early chapters, seems Mr King sure did his research well that time!
I have Misery, but it wasn't one of my faves. Also read Rose Madder, barely remember it though.
I do want to read "It" and "The Shining". I wish I had seen the TV movie of The Shining, I'm sure it's quite different from the Kubrick/Nicholson classic!
I was watching the TV versions of both "It" (with Tim Curry) and "Storm of the Century" over the past weekend! Both are in my list of fave mini-series ever!

I have every book Stephen ever wrote and have read every word, some several times. One book everyone should read is The Long Walk. Very early book but next to The Stand it is my favorite. About the only book that hasn't been made into a movie. I heard Frank Darabont, who started the Walking Dead, has the rights to it. Would make a great movie. If you haven't read it check it out, it won't disappoint.

While thinking about a possible screen adaptation, I wondered if maybe Mr. King would agree to write a new screenplay based on a different Long Walk - maybe the following year... Or the first one that ever took place... Lots of potential here.

The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon was great too. The Stand is my fave but I must read 11/23/63.

As I mentioned on this thread, I just started "Mr. Mercedes", and I just found out yesterday that there's a TV series for this: www.imdb.com/title/tt4354880/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1Has anyone here seen this? If so, what's your opinion on the show? Todd C WTIC

The long walk has been my favorite since I was a teenager. I try to read it once a year. I just finished IT and thought it was very good except for a part right by the end. Did anyone else read IT and think why the hell did that happen? Donβt want to spoil for anyone who hasnβt read it but if you did read it I think you will know what Iβm talking about. Yep just finished. Needed an epilogue and I could see a prequel and a sequel. Seems like the last chapter he just wanted to finish as much as the walkers wanted to be done. Thanks for the recommendation.

I have been reading Firestarter (less than 80 pages to go.) It is a good book. I will see the movies (both the one from the 1980s and the remake getting released next month) at some point.

If you like Firestarter and haven't read it yet, I suggest you check out The Institute... Exceptional read and some of the implied (or imagined) connections are very cool.
