This is why it’s best to take the Michael Scott approach to life:

I’m done w wrestling because some (small amount in comparison to total number of) wrestlers are scumbags, says the guy who loves Motley Crue. Your heroes are sometimes villains & that’s how life goes. Punish the offenders and get on w it. The rest shouldn’t suffer for the stupidity of the minority. You can pretend all the legends are shining pillars of the community, but I’m gonna go on a limb and guess they were even worse. They just didn’t have Twitter. I’m assuming we have no Ric Flair fans on here? Scott Hall? Jimmy Snuka? Etc. It’s time to stop watching movies, sports, and all forms of entertainment because some people are bad. How many of us never watched a movie again because Harvey Weinstein got busted?
Cancel everything!

Too bad Fake Mike did not take things seriously when he owned and ran the company. Good riddance.

Every saint has a past, and every sinner a future.
I'm not now, nor have I ever been, a fan of cancel culture. It's dumb as Hell and at it's most base level is ineffective at what it's intended mission seems to be because it just draws more attention to the person being 'canceled'.
I often struggle with the idea that we can dislike an artist (in whatever medium) for their behavior but still love the art that they create. More often than not I can make the distinction because, as has already been pointed out before so eloquently, every one of us has done something inappropriate/wrong at some point in our lives. Sometimes I can't reconcile the difference between art and artist, though.
I still love pro wrestling. I've been a fan through both good times and bad. I'm not going anywhere. I'm just a little more cautious about who I share my love of it with these days because I don't want to be judged by those who paint us all with a broad brush. After all, the public face of the industry has been given a black eye, and therefore, by association, we must all be okay with the bad behavior.
Like I said before, I haven't felt a need to hide my fandom, as I have lately, for a long time.

I don’t feel the need to be cautious about sharing my love / interest of anything, though it can be uncomfortable when situations such as this arise. All we can hope for is that lessons have been learned and the industry as a whole will use better judgement going forward. Just like every other entertainment industry has been forced to do, and rightfully so.
