Scion Nexus is on fire! And that match between him and Paragon looked like an absolute war... I'm curious to see if the new champion can retain in his inevitable rematch against Godsend... Brilliant fun, as always!

Well, let's see....pretty tired tonight, and nothing's truly on worth watching or even streaming (at least that I haven't seen). Got about an hour before bed, so why not pop in some old DVD's from Joint Promotions? Always up for some great historical matches.
Think I'm in the mood for some GWF action tonight, so...okay...alright that's in...ah, here's a great one to start (cracks open beer, and settles in):
**Endgame (c) vs. Godsend, GWF World Heavyweight Championship: Oh man, this was awesome!! These 2 guys just hate one another, always have. Godsend has owned Endgame for the most part, but not on this night. The Big Man just kept coming, despite taking some hammering blows from Godsend. Godsend tried to play to the crowd, but the crowd wanted nothing to do with him, being firmly on the side of the champ this night. Endgame put him away with the Rolling Figure Four, much to the delight of the New York faithful! Great opener for me this evening.
RESULT: Endgame (c) b. Godsend, rolling figure four (***1/2). (Endgame picks up 1 career World Title defense for his career record).
Alright, beer's starting to get a little warm. And I'm about out for the night, but am in the mood for just one more bout. Let's see what I can cue up here...okay....yea, this one works:
**Chaos (c) vs. Omega, GWF World Heavyweight Championship: This match occurred during one of Chaos's lengthy title reigns, as he was want to have. The man just wouldn't lose for long stretches at a time. And while this bout was no exception...spoiler: Chaos wins!...the fight Omega gave him was unbelievable!! A bloodied "father of the GWF" just refused to stay down/submit, as he withstood several Bows of Defeat, and kept coming back for more. There was even a heck of a brawl outside of the ring, which saw Chaos smash Omega's ribs up against the audience partition. And still Omega came back for more. I'll say this much, don't know if Omega came back after this to finally notch a victory over Chaos, but he showed why he (Omega) is arguably the GOAT in GWF history. A man with that much fighting spirit is (ultimately) not going to be denied.
RESULT: Chaos (c) b. Omega, Bow of Defeat (****1/2). (Chaos picks up 1 career World Title defense for his career record).
Okay, that was fun, but this fella's gotta get to bed. Long day tomorrow. Do love this stuff, wish I could watch hours of it. 'Til next time....goodnight Denmark...

Loving some top notch GWF action! Both challengers delivered hard hitting performances, but neither champion was in the mood to drop the gold at this point... Endgame and Chaos have experienced plenty of success for me in the past, regardless of era... Fun times!

Pariah and TTX , appreciate your fine patronage as always. That last card of action was a brief interlude, as I wanted to try a concept another promoter had tried, and which I've also dabbled with over the years (although not as well as this promoter has). It's an interesting way to a run a "fed", without getting too tangled up in fed "accounting" as this promoter called it. All the regular fun stuff of pro wrestling can still be had, i.e. feuds still occur, the greats rise to the top, and one can track how many title reigns and defenses a wrestler has (in order to determine who's better/who's best in one's fed). It's just a novel concept, and I wanted to try a card or two with it, just to see. Don't know if I'll continue on with my model, or change to this other concept, or maybe do both, but was worth a try! For more information on the fed I've been inspired by, visit here: Tape Trading through Time & Space

(Let's get this show back on the road, shall we??)CARD 103: WWAMAIN EVENT: Bob Backlund (c) (1st defense) b. Baron Von Raschke, Atomic Drop (**). Our champion barely worked up a sweat in this one... CARD 104: WWA*WWA World Tag Team Championship: Rocca & DiPaolo (c) (3rd defense) DRAW Dutch Savage & Jimmy Snuka (****). Good bout, lots of back and forth! Savage and Snuka tried to turn it into a brawl, and were successful at times, but couldn't wrest the belts away from the champs. MAIN EVENT: Bob Backlund (c) (2nd defense) b. Billy Gunn, Atomic Drop (**1/2). Fun bout while it lasted, with Backlund winning going away at the end with a flurry of offense! CARD 105: WGX*WGX TV Championship: MJF (c) (1st defense) b. Daniel Garcia, small package (**1/2). Did we see MJF with a handful of tights to win that bout?? Methinks we did... MAIN EVENT: Bryan Danielson (c) (1st defense) b. Gary Jay, MMA Elbows (***). Match was largely intended to be a tune up for the WGX champ, but Gary Jay gave him a bit more than he'd bargained for in this one! Danielson realized he needed to get serious, and got the job done in the end. CARD 106: AAW MAIN EVENT: The Champ (c) (3rd defense) b. Stellar Nexus, U Can't See Me (***). Good match, with Nexus still playing the heel (he turned in my universe a while back). Just a fun bout and good rivalry between these 2! CARD 107: AAWMAIN EVENT: Honkey Tonk Man DQ The Champ (c) (4th defense) (***). Fun interpromotional bout, pitting HTM from the NWA against The Champ! And the Champ had all he could handle from the wiley HTM. When the bout went outside of the ring, the Champ lost his temper a bit, and the bout ended in a schmozz... CARD 108: AAWMAIN EVENT: A stunner!!! In what was supposed to be a simple pay day for our champion, Scrapheap b. The Champ with the junkpile to become the nnnnnnnneeeeeewwwww AAW World Heavyweight Champion (**1/2). But wait....what's this? The replay clearly shows Scrapheap using the ropes to achieve the pin...egads man!!! What chicanery is this??? A rematch has been immediately scheduled...can the Champ gain revenge for this?? CARD 109: AAWMAIN EVENT: The Champ b. Scrapheap to regain the AAW World Heavyweight Championship with the Champion's Clutch (**). All is now right in the world, with the Champ once again reclaiming the throne! He pounded Scrapheap from pillar to post and defintely gained his revenge for the tainted loss on card 108! CARD 110: AAW*International Heavyweight Title: Akuma the Ninja b. True Blue with Shoeti to become the nnnnnnnneeeeewwwww AAW International Heavyweight Champion (***). Solid match, with Akuma using a hard-to-see "international" object several times to frustrate TB, and ultimately win the belt. Boo! Boo! MAIN EVENT: The Champ (c) (1st defense) b. Pegasus, Champion Clutch (**1/2). The Champ is solidly back on track ladies and gents, with a very impressive win against the great Pegasus (Kronos updated card). Pegasus came in like a house on fire, but The Champ checked that momentum, and blasted him into next week! CARD 111: GWFMAIN EVENT: Scion Nexus (c) (3rd title defense) COR Thantos (***). Thantos looked like he intentionally stayed out of the ring after being dropkicked through the ropes, in order to avoid being pinned (as Nexus was winning convincingly at that point). Nexus didn't like that ending, and wants a piece of Thantos again, to prove he does have what it takes to beat the "Evil Gamemaster"! Coming Up: The action continues in the member feds of Joint Promotions, as on the horizon we'll see defenses by Scion Nexus against Wraith, and Bob Backlund takes on old foe Freddie Blassie! Don'tcha Dare Miss It!

Not overly surprising that good, ol' Honky Tonk Man was able to bait The Champ into losing his composure, allowing him to put a notch in the W column via technical decision... Shake, Rattle & Roll, BAY-BAY!

(Full disclosure: If you listen to UT, well, I am way ahead in my actual playing versus my posting! But, its been a fun ride, so wanted to keep posting the results through each season! Thanks for reading along folks!)
CARD 112: GWF
MAIN EVENT: Wraith b. Scion Nexus, Phanton Jackhammer (***). And ladies and gentlemen, we have a nnnnnnneeeeeewwwww GWF World Heavyweight Champion! Wraith takes out Scion Nexus in a solid bout between the two men! But...what's this??? Video shows that Nexus had his leg clearly on the bottom rope, and the referee somehow missed it! GWF officials ordered an immediate rematch between the two!
CARD 113: GWF
*Interplanetary Heavyweight Title: Crossfire (6th title defense) b. Prince of the Rose after a missed deathjump (****). Very good bout with some pretty strong aerial maneuvers! Crossfire was relatively lucky to emerge as champion after this one though fans...Prince of the Rose is tough!
MAIN EVENT: Scion Nexus b. Wraith, Rise & Fall (***3/4). And....once again...ladies and gentlemen we have a nnnnnnneeeeewww GWF World Heavyweight Champion! Nexus gains a measure of revenge in a very physical bout, as he took the match right to (former champion) Wraith, and ultimately came away with a very hard fought win. All hail the new champ...and some good heat between these two warriors!
CARD 114: WWA
MAIN EVENT: Bob Backlund (c) (3rd title defense) DQ Freddie Blassie (***1/2). The heat continues between these 2 greats of the squared circle, with nothing settled yet. Blassie really did a number on Backlund when the two spilled outside of the ring!
CARD 115: WWA
MAIN EVENT: In a long awaited match, Kurt Angle b. Bob Backlund, ankle lock (**1/2). Ladies and gentlemen, we have a nnnnnneeeeeewwwww WWA World Heavyweight Champion! Fans were admittedly hoping for more out of these two, as its been much anticipated, the locking up of these 2 technical greats. But Angle just appeared to be too much tonight, and grabs his first WWA World Title!
CARD 116: GWF
-The Crimestoppers b. Skull & The Immortals, Eye of the Hurricane (**1/2). Fun 6-man action between 2 warring factions!
MAIN EVENT: Scion Nexus (c) (1st title defense) b. Wraith, Rise & Fall (**1/2). The Nexus-Wraith feud comes to a close, with Nexus winning the feud for now with a convincing decision. Wraith is a solid contender, but Nexus is going to move on from this feud for the time being (still good heat between the two!).
CARD 117: WWA
*St. Louis Heavyweight Title: Don Muraco b. Bob Roop, Hawaiian Hammer (**1/2). We have a new St. Louis champion fans, as Muraco gains a win over a rival in convincing fashion.
MAIN EVENT: Kurt Angle (c) (1st title defense) DQ Bob Backlund (**1/2). Temper, temper Mr. Backlund, as he was disqualified for losing his cool and going to fists fairly early in this return bout. But, truth be told, Angle does tend to get under his foes' skin, so Backlund was most likely baited!
Coming Up: Joint Promotions is hotter than a firecracker fans, as we'll see The Champ in action defending his AAW crown against Jet Set Strutter, and if he wins that, Marcus Colby looms! Don'tcha dare miss the action!

Although I did hear your update on the latest UT installment, I still really enjoy following the journey of each title... Angle using his wits to remain champion while Backlund blows a fuse... Definitely seems plausible... And that's DAMN true! HA!
