MORPHEUS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY World Championship Title Reigns: 1 Career Defenses: 35 NOTES: *While of the 2 founders of the GWF Omega has had the better career thus far, Morpheus has been coming on as of late, racking up some impressive wins (including a couple over Omega lately). *Morpheus is a great "tweener" to me, in that he makes a fun heel or face. He's always been a Bruno-type to me, that's been that way since I first saw his card. *His greatest rival is, of course, Omega. Match History: 7/19/20: 1. Morpheus DQ DragonMaster, New York (***). Solid bout, DragonMaster acquitting himself well, but the Pit Viper in him comes out when he loses his temper. 2. Morpheus b. Jack of Diamonds, Trip to Hades, Jersey City (**3/4). JOD starts out like a house on fire, and then crashes back to earth. 3. Omega b. Morpheus, Tomahawk Thrust, Philadelphia (****). Very good match! Omega gains a World Title Defense/win, which I'll record in his thread, and gains a measure of revenge for a couple of earlier losses to Morpheus! The feud will never die...

I've decided to simplify matters. The discussion board format doesn't lend itself as simply to keeping these career records for each wrestler, as I can keep them alphabetized on my own, and its simpler. That, and I think I prefer doing one wrestler as champ at a time after all! So, I've married large parts of this format to my own traditional touring champ format, and I think this will work well. This thread will now concentrate on the GWF Champion touring member GWF territories, defending the GWF belt against all comers. Champ wins, he continues on....rematches and feuds will develop naturally with DQ's, etc. And if the champ loses, the new champion picks up the touring schedule, and continues on....just like the days of the NWA. Now, as for my record keeping, as the belt will change hands a lot more often in this game than in others in which I've done this model, I am going to use the 20 title defenses/wins equals 1 World Title reign that I came up with in my "Replay" model. This will help me prevent one champion having won the title 72 times by the time I'm old and gray! This will work for me. So, let's pick up with GWF Season 26 (my season 26). Each card equals one month's time. And our champion is currently Morpheus, who is now in New York defending against The Perfect Specimen! SEASON 26 RESULTSOCTOBER: Perfect Specimen b. Morpheus with a high flying dropkick to become the nnnnnneeeeewwwww GWF World Heavyweight champion (**). Morpheus came out with guns blazing and nailed Spec with a Trip to Hades. But, the ever resilient Spec rallied back, as the fans seemed to will him forward, throwing Morpheus in the ropes and nailing him with a dropkick for the finish! All hail the new champion! Up next for our champion in November is a scheduled title defense against his current hot rival Saber, from Boston, MA!

NOVEMBER: Saber b. Perfect Specimen to become the nnnnneeeeewwwww GWF World Heavyweight Champion, winning with the Saber Chop (***). Spec loses the belt to his hated rival, and just can't seem to get past Saber for now. The ending was somewhat controversial, in that Saber seemed to use a foreign object (i.e., his Sonic Wave!), prior to utilizing the Saber Chop on Spec to win the bout! The Perfect Specimen was hopping mad after the contest, and demanded GWF officials issue him an immediate rematch.
Well, it seems that GWF HQ has heard Spec's request, as they've granted him a rematch for next month, which will take place live and in living color from Pittsburgh, PA! Don'tcha dare miss it!

DECEMBER: In a much anticipated rematch from last month, Saber b. Perfect Specimen by once again resorting to what appeared to be some sort of foreign object (i.e., the Sonic Wave!) to retain the GWF World Heavyweight Championship (****). GWF fans, we have witnessed a travesty of justice, as our beloved Perfect Specimen has once again fallen prey to the devious Saber. If this were a boxing match, Saber was clearly losing on points, and desperately resorted to foul play to get the win....and keep the greatest prize (at least in this reporter's opinion!) in all of wrestling....the GWF World Title. Boo! Boo!
GWF fans, we've got a little extra time this evening, so we're going to take you live to Philadelphia, PA for an Interplanetary Heavyweight Championship match. In a highly anticipated rematch, the Draconian Sheik battled to a time limit DRAW with Wolf (****1/4). The action was fast and furious right from the opening bell, and it seemed that the combatants spent as much time brawling outside of the ring as wrestling inside of it. Nothing was settled in this red hot feud between GWF legends, and it may take 2 referees to try and contain a rematch!
As for our World Champion, he will head back to New York next month to start the new season, Season 27 of the GWF, and up first for him is a scheduled bout with Lance At-Las.
Saber: 1 Title Defense.

No offense to fans of the Titans, but hooray for Saber! One of my favorite new characters.
And you go old school with a Wolf vs. Draconian Sheik match up. Great stuff!

(We'd like to thank our biggest fan Chad Olson for his comments! And now, on to season 27!)SEASON 27JANUARY: Saber b. Lance At-Las with, once again, nefarious methods, using what we have now come to know as the "Sonic Wave" foreign object to retain the GWF World Heavyweight Championship (Boo! Boo!). What tomfoolery is this!! How many times are GWF officials, which we had thought were beyond reproach, going to allow this to happen??? Lance At-Las was knocked out cold, and it took nearly 10 minutes for officials to completely revive him. Goodness gracious GWF fans, At-Las could've seriously been injured. Well, our champion somehow lives to fight another day, and that he shall. Next month, he's scheduled to take on Perfect Specimen's mentor Lord Nexus in Boston, MA. Can Nexus gain a measure of revenge for Spec?? Stay tuned! Saber: 2 Title Defenses.

FEBRUARY: Lord Nexus DQ Saber when Saber's mentor, the Invincible Krakan (who rumor has it is a crazy new fan of the NHL's newest expansion team! ), interfered on Saber's behalf when it was clear he was about to lose the contest....and the GWF World Heavyweight Championship (***...Boo! Boo!). Is there no end to Saber's, or CTA-102's, treachery?? The legendary Lord Nexus had blasted Saber with 2 straight Titan Drops, and was very nearly our new GWF champion, when Krakan suddenly and deliberately attacked Lord Nexus from behind, saving Saber from certain defeat. Krakan and Saber then turned their boots to Lord Nexus, who was suffering mightily, until the Perfect Specimen raced from the back to save his mentor, and clear the ring of the dastardly CTA-102 zealots! When will Saber's evil reign be ended? How long will GWF officials put up with this chicanery? Well, it appears that they are going to count on Perfect Specimen to carry the GWF banner, as he's been granted a rematch on next month's card, which will come to you all live and in living color from Madison Square Garden in New York! Be there, GWF fans! Saber: 3 Title Defenses.
