To me inter-promotional matches give a bit of real world feel to things. We have seen it happen before in the real world so makes sense to have it in our universes. Plus it is a nice way to keep things fresh by bringing in a guy for a match or two but not be on the actual roster.

JULY: Pedro Morales b. Superstar Billy Graham with a sunset flip to retain the WWA World Heavyweight Title in a good bout (***3/4) Nice back and forth contest, with Graham having his chances to win the belt with the Bear Hug, only to see Morales escape, rally, and regain the advantage to hold on to the belt. Pedro's off to a great start in his title reign WWA fans!
On the undercard, we saw the following matches:
*Semi-Main Event: Jim Duggan DQ St. Louis Heavyweight Champion Wild Bull Curry when Curry bashed Duggan over the head with a chair (**)! That Curry's a Wild one ladies and gentlemen (pun firmly intended!), and one wonders given his penchant for getting DQ'd if he'll hold on to the St. Louis title for a while!
*WGX Title: Nick Aldis DQ Matt Riddle (****3/4). Very good match for this underappreciated title! Aldis had all he could handle with Riddle!
*Abdullah the Butcher b. Jackie Fargo with the Sudanese Meat Cleaver (**). This was a return bout from earlier in the year, and unfortunately for Fargo, revenge was not to be had!
Our World Champion will next head to Detroit for a scheduled defense next month against the great Curt Hennig. Can Morales stay on a role!
Curry: 2 Title Defenses.
Aldis: 1 Title Defense.
Morales: 4 Title Defenses.

AUGUST: Pedro Morales b. Curt Hennig with a Cannonball to hold on to the WWA World Heavyweight Championship (**1/2). Morales was never truly threatened in this contest, and looked impressive in the win!
On the undercard, the WWA World Tag-Team Champions Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens b. the Flying Redheads with the Figure Four Leglock....aided we might add by Bockwinkel's crafty use of the ropes....to retain the Tag Titles (**). Boo, Boo! The Redheads were irate afterwards, and demanded a rematch with Bock & Stevens, as they were clearly cheated out of the belts! We'll need to keep an eye on this one fans!
Eddie Gilbert b. Dick Hutton with the Hot Shot in singles action (**1/2). And also in singles action, Stan Hansen DQ Rick Martel when Martel lost his temper, resulting in a trip to Fist City (***)! Good match while it lasted, with tensions high!
As for our World Champion, he will next head to Kansas City for a scheduled defense against Adrian Adonis!
Bock & Stevens: 6 Title Defenses. Morales: 5 Title Defenses.

Nice to see Pedro Morals having a nice run. Bock and Stevens are always going to be tough as well.

SEPTEMBER: Adrian Adonis DQ Pedro Morales when Morales' temper simply got the better of him, and led him to fight fire with fire, leading to the disqualification (***). 'Tis a shame this went to a DQ finish, as the match was really heating up, with both men displaying their talents. Adonis was, however, pushing the envelope on the rules, and Morales had finally had enough, going to Fist City on Adonis! Temper, temper Pedro!
Our champion loses the battle, but wins the war in that he retains the World Title. And we have a good feeling these two will meet again eventually, in a rematch. For now, however, our champion will next head to the Golden Coast (i.e., California) for a scheduled defense against "Classy" Freddie Blassie!
Morales: 6 Title Defenses.

Okay gang, I'm switching how I "date" my cards. Whereas each card was equaling one month of game time, each card will now represent one week. I've used this model with another fed I've run for years, and like it better....after all, I'm basing this model on the World Champ touring the territories, and I like having the champ making a defense in a territory at least once per week. Gives me more results for each "season" too, from which to determine the Award winners.
So, let's pick this up with Week 10 now, and from now on, I'll post a few weeks' results at at time, keeping it very simple:
WEEK 10: Pedro Morales b. Freddie Blassie with a Boston Crab in a good match with a lot of heat (***). Bout was exciting enough and heat-filled enough to merit a rematch!
WEEK 11: Pedro Morales b. Freddie Blassie with the Boston Crab again in a rematch even better than last week's (****). Blassie had his chances, but our champ is proving to be quite resilient! On the undercard, Tiger Conway, SR. b. Wild Bull Curry with a Let's Twist & Shout to win the ST. LOUIS HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE (***1/4). Go Tiger....fans were loving seeing the crazy Curry get his comeuppance!
WEEK 12: Pedro Morales DDQ Chris Jericho in a wild bout, retaining the WWA Crown while at it (***). This deteriorated into a brawl quickly WWA fans, with Morales giving as well as he received! There most certainly will be a rematch! On the undercard, The Flying Redheads b. Bockwinkel & Stevens to become the NNNNNEEEEWWWWW World Tag-Team Champs (****). Very fun match, with the popular Redheads winning the belts over the hated Bockwinkel & Stevens!
Up next in Week 13 for our champion is a rematch with Adrian Adonis...will the Golden Boy gain a measure of revenge???
Morales: 9 Title Defenses.

With the Golden Boy officially announced, I anticipate this match even more. Congrats to the Redheads for their big victory.
