The rebirth starts with Clash of the Champions VII and first-round matches in the U.S. singles and tag team title tournaments. UNITED STATES TAG TEAM TITLE TOURNAMENT
First Round
PG-13 def. The Mongols A super fast opening match as Bepo Mongol never knew what hit him. What hit him was J.C. Ice setting him up right off the bat for the Backbreaker/Elbow combo for the pin. The Armstrongs def. The Bolsheviks This match became one of the greatest matches in USWA history! An unbelievable war between these teams. The Bolsheviks fought like never before as the Armstrongs rolled nearly the entire match but could not get the three count. The Russians did all they could to stay alive including Nikita Breznikov trying to get his charges a win. Finally Brad Armstrong got the Russian Leg Sweep on Zhukov for the three. (Zhukov 5 coins, Volkoff 5 coins) Scott Casey & Sam Houston def. The Vachons After an extremely long match, this one was over in a hurry. Butcher Vachon was leveled by Scott Casey, going down after a powerslam and reverse neckbreaker. The Vachons were livid and put a hurting on Casey after sending Houston to the floor. The Killer Bees def. Marcus Alexander Bagwell & 2 Cold Scorpio Fast paced action throughout this one. Blair was hurting after double team moves, but Brunzell got the tag and beat Bagwell with a flying head scissor for a mild upset of a team that reached the Ultimate Iron Team Tournament at Wrestlemania IV. UNITED STATES TITLE TOURNAMENT
First Round
The Destroyer def. Kevin Sullivan by D.Q. The Gamesmaster had things going his way but the Destroyer was just taking the beating. He battled back on the floor and hit an airplane spin. Sullivan went outside again and was disqualified. Curt Hennig def. Harley Race Two former World champions hit the USWA after tours of Japan. Race was on top at first but Hennig got the shoulder up after a suplex and the piledriver. The two went right at it and Hennig grabbed the win with the Perfect Plex. Magnum T.A. def. Dan Severn This one was a dead even bout. Neither could hold the upperhand for long. After a couple nearfalls either way it was Magnum T.A. winning after coming off the top rope. Gorgeous George def. Jim Powers Cherie Dupre right at the bell gave her man the advantage and George made use of it. He repeatedly used the rolling hiplock and then got the win with the spinning toe hold. He locked the submission move on again after the match. Tony Atlas def. Jake Milliman It didn't take long for Atlas to pick up the win, easily overpowering the Milkman. Nick Bockwinkel def. The Patriot Bockwinkel didn't give the Patriot a chance to do anything. Some back suplexes and the Sleeper ended the match. Bill Dundee def. Hillbilly Jim A very spirited battle here with Hillbilly Jim going to the floor to fight fire with fire against Dundee. Jim tried to use the top rope but that didn't work. The Superstar Bomb ended the match. Johnny Valentine def. Jim Duggan A true slugfest is how this one went down. Valentine got the bigger shots in and the Skullcrusher sent him to the quarterfinals.

First Round
Angel Orsini def. Angelus Layne An unbelievable brawl is what this match was. Just all-out power moves, back and forth, in and out of the ring. Neither grappler would let up. Orsini came out on top after a Russian leg sweep. (Orsini 4 coins, Layne 2 coins) Joyce Grable def. Cindy Rogers This match was much shorter than the previous one. PG-13 def. The Armstrongs
An absolute epic encounter and an all-time classic in USWA history. These teams have been going at it in the NAWA and the feud is not over now that the USWA is back in business. Ice 3 coins, Wolfie D 1 coin) Killer Bees def. Scott Casey & Sam Houston Blair and Brunzell maintained control in this one. The cowboy tag team held their own but the Bee Sting put Casey away. UNITED STATES TITLE TOURNAMENT

Hennig was dowwn after the Bombs Away and the figure four and the Destroyer dropped several knees before getting the pin. Gorgeous George def. Magnum T.A. A very long and grueling match as Gorgeous George went to work. He dominated the contest but T.A. would not stop fighting. Finally the Spinning Toe Hold ended the match. (T.A. 6 coins) Nick Bockwinkel def. Tony Atlas A real even matchup that went for some time. Neither could get any pinning predicaments on the other. Bockwinkel locked in the sleeper for the win. Johnny Valentine def. Bill Dundee A great final match of the night and the quarterfinals of the tournament. It could have gone either way. It was a real slugfest that Valentine won with the skullcrusher.

Alot of great action here tystates! I always pull for the underdog - that Rockin Robin / Jazz match sounded tense! Congrats to Mildred Burke (was really pulling for Penny Banner - big fan of hers). The Killer Bees get it done in dramatic fashion - that's always cool in my book! Congrats to Nick Bockwinkel on winning the main event. Enjoyed that card alot. Will have to catch up on your tournaments from the beginning since I came in at the end!
