Hector The Holy Brown Bear. I'm no longer following GWF as I'm concentrating on LOW and maybe Indies since I've bought enough sets. But you folks enjoy!

Am I the only one who is psyched for more Hector? One of my all time favorite characters.

Of course not...when I saw Hector was part of the set, I was thrilled. I knew no one would guess him. He and Sly definitely have unfinished business.

Star Warrior Thantos Wolf Matador of M83 Chaos Amazonia Thrash Thunder Max Shield Mandrill Hector, the Holy Brown Bear Sly Drury Endgame Godsend Monolith Aethran Overmaster Here's the list Hmmm, I almost hate to say it, but a little bit of the air has been let out of my expectations for this set with this list. Amazonia and Thrash are solid inclusions as they seem to be the consensus best women in the history of the GWF. Max Shield, while not a favorite of mine, is also a solid choice. Mandrill?... Never cared for the character and I'm not sure he's among the elite of the elite in GWF history. I suppose my primary "gripes" are Hector and to a lesser extent Sly Drury. I understand Sly is a very popular character so on an iconic character level, a case can be made for him here but Hector? To me, he seems like a gimmick character. Perhaps the real problem is my expectations. I assumed that every character would be the absolute elite ever to compete in the GWF. IMO, Mabdrill, Sly and Hector don't quite get to that level. Having said that, since Godsend included himself in this tournament, I'd imagine a storyline reason for the specifics of the wrestler inclusions. I guess I was expecting Alpha Force, Pegasus, Bloodline, Encubus and the like to be included. The remainder of the list is however, unassailable. Orrus looks like he should be a great character and the handbook should be great so I imagine overall this will be a great package. I would have chosen a few different wrestlers, ah well.

Who is Hector's alter ego? He had,I believe 4 other alter egos. For a period of 5 years he'd wrestle with a completely different persona (off the top of my head I don't remember all the names). He'd switch it up every year until finally settling on Hector the Holy Brown Bear and feuded with Sly Drury. After a few years as Hector, presumably, the gimmick ran it's course, Tom may have run out of ideas for him, and killed him off. The gimmicky nature of his existence is what slightly sticks in my craw over his inclusion in this set. Really though, since so many other great characters have been included I really don't have much to complain about (despite me doing so, lol).

Um ... *gulp* ... Hector died!?!??! I am not caught up and was a big Hector fan. Damn, I'm sorry about that. For the record, I don't believe a body was recovered, so I think Tom left himself an opening to bring him back... if he indeed ever left. He may very well be wrestling under yet another persona. My money is he's the Basilisk ;-)

Um ... *gulp* ... Hector died!?!??! I am not caught up and was a big Hector fan. You were going to find out in his Best Of COTG bio anyways. I guess that’s a big spoiler for promoters who aren’t current.
