Thanks for the comments TTX . The dice were just cruel over and over again for that card. Look for some rematches coming up to set things right. Card 39 – Boston Garden, Boston, MA Al Snow def. Rock Riddle with a huracanrana – dud. Snow needed just five move to get the three count from Morgan Dollar who had strict instructions for both men. Mikey Whipwreck def. Lou Albano with a Cobra Clutch Suplex - ***. Albano shocked the fans when he smashed Whipwreck early on with Dr. Mike Lano’s camera busting the fan favourite open and turning the match in his favour but Whipwreck mounted a late comeback after drawing on the fans support. Too Cool (Brian Christopher & Scott Taylor) def. Frank Dalton & Tommy Gilbert when Taylor pinned Dalton after a two-handed bulldog – dud. Taylor countered a clothesline into the corner with one of his own sending both Taylor & Dalton to the mat. Both recovered to their feet at about the same time but Taylor bounced Dalton’s head off the mat and Morgan Dollar was quick with the three count. Texas Hangmen (Killer & Psycho) def. Larry Hennig & Hugh Morrus when Killer pinned Morrus after a Hangmen’s Hammer - * ½. A short match but intense power battle that saw the double teaming of the Hangmen turn the match in their favour and lead directly to the winning pin. Barry Windham & B.G. James def. Soviets (Alexis Smirnoff & Nikolai Volkoff) when Windham pinned Volkoff with a LARIAT - **. Some entertaining back and forth action after Volkoff sung of the crowd and earned some great heat. James nearly put Volkoff away after an impressive PUMP HANDLE SLAM but it was Windham who nailed both is finishers and score the pin fall while James blocked the pin save. Justin Credible def. Buddy Rogers by disqualification when Rogers used a chair to smash Credible in the leg - **. Credible was able to withstand a solid attack from the Nature Boy and was on the comeback when Rogers decided to use a chair to take out Credible during action outside the ring. World Champion Ted DiBiase def. Iron Sheik with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK - *. In a rare turn of events, the fans are backing the champion tonight and he responds putting away the loaded glove and instead focusing on his two legal finishers. It is a winning strategy as DiBiase dominated the match and gets the submission victory under the watchful eye of Morgan Dollar who had strict instructions for both men before the bell. In a Steel Cage Match, World Tag Team Champions Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) w/Paul Ellering def. Vachons (Butcher Vachon & Mad Dog Vachon) when Hawk pinned Butcher Vachon after a DOOMSDAY DEVICE - ****. This was a brutal and bloody brawl that saw Mad Dog Vachon, Butcher Vachon and Animal where the crimson mask before it was all over with. Butcher saved his brother after a DOOMSDAY DEVICE about mid way through the match but Mad Dog could not return the favour at the finish of the match.

I am continuing to enjoy the action presented here. Ted Dibiase looks to be on a good run as the world champion. I absolutely loved the Road Warriors vs. Mad Dog & Butcher Vachon in the cage in Boston. What a war!

Card 40 – Madison Square Garden, New York, New York
Ron Hutchison def. Angelo Poffo by disqualification when Poffo used a chair to attack Hutchison on the floor - * ½ - Hutchison thrilled the fans with a dominating performance as Poffo was on the defensive for most of the contest thanks to Hutchison countering abilities and his scientific attack. Poffo let his frustrations get the best of him and it cost him the decision. Vachons (Mad Dog Vachon & Butcher Vachon) def. Texas Hangmen (Psycho & Killer) when Butcher Vachon used a deathjump on Killer for the pin - ** ½. There were very few holds traded in this one and plenty of fists and boots exchanged in this one with Butcher Vachon saving his brother after a HANGMEN BACKBREAKER before he came off the top to get the pin ending the wild battle that was contested under the watch of Morgan Dollar. Steve Corino def. Al Snow w/Head with an OLD SCHOOL EXPULSION - ** ½. Another back and forth battle with both men having their opportunities to pick up the win but just missing the three count several times before Corino was able to the first of the two men to land their finisher and take the three count. Buddy Rogers def. Justin Credible with a FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE - * ½. The fans were treated to a brief offensive flurry from Credible after he tossed Rogers from the top of the corner to the feet of Morgan Dollar but the Nature Boy came to win and dominated most of this one getting the submission win. Mikey Whipwreck & Too Cool (Brian Christopher & Scott Taylor) def. Lou Albano, Frank Dalton & Tommy Gilbert by disqualification when Gilbert jumped into the match to save Dalton from being pinned - *. The faces worked well together and managed to keep Dalton in the ring the entire match with all three members getting their chance to shine until Whipwreck had Dalton beat with a Frankenmikey. Gilbert came in with RUNNING KNEE LIFT to Whipwreck and the official called for the bell. Both teams traded blows after the match with Too Cool and Whipwreck clearing the ring. “Iron” Mike DiBiase def. Jack Brisco with a TOP TOPE KNEE TO BACK - ** ½. DiBiase appeared to get under the skin of Morgan Dollar before the bell. Brisco dominated the match early on but could not get the three count with a ROLLING REVERSE CRADLE and DiBiase came back catching a charging Brisco in the corner with a clothesline and then controlling the balance of the match including hitting his finisher twice in the final three moves of the encounter. Flying Redheds (Red Bastien & Billy Red Lyons) def. Larry Hennig & Hugh Morrus by disqualification when Morrus attacked Lyons on the floor with a chair – dud. This one was over before it really got started with the action going outside almost immediately and Morrus grabbing a chair leading to the finish.
Pampero Firpo def. Killer Kowalski by disqualification when Kowalski slammed Firpo through the ringside table - ***. The beatdown Kowalski delivered was incredible and included four Bombs Away. Firpo was essentially out of his feet when Kowalski pursued him to the floor late in the match but Firpo had one final burst of energy and sent Kowalski face first into the post. Kowalski was busted wide open as the action returned to the ring but things went back to the floor immediately and Kowalski, enraged, slammed his foe through the table and was disqualified. Iron Sheik def. Jimmy Snuka by disqualification when Snuka smashed Sheik with a chair - *. The action was back and forth but Sheik spit at Snuka and that set the Superfly off on an impressive offensive attack. Sheik bailed and Snuka followed grabbing a chair and cracking his opponent with the weapon. Sheik fled to the back leaving a furious Snuka at ringside. Women’s Champion Mildred Burke def. Fabulous Moolah by disqualification when Moolah decked Burke with her own title belt - **. Moolah had some unsolicited advice for Morgan Dollar before the bell that was not taken well by the official. Burke struggled to get something going against the countering of his challenger with Moolah picking up a near fall with a BODY PRESS. Things went to the floor and Moolah took things into her own hands and it cost her opportunity at the gold. World Tag Team Champions Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) w/Paul Ellering def. B.G. James & Barry Windham when Hawk pinned James after a DOOMSDAY DEVICE. *** ½. The history of tension between Morgan Dollar and the Road Warriors continued with Paul Ellering again being sent to the back before the match by the official. This was a short but wild encounter. Animal and Windham traded turnbuckle post rams in the opening minute leaving both men a bloody mess. James did not look out of place against the champions but a double clothesline changed that and set the course for the Warriors to retain but it took three DOOMSDAY DEVICES to get the job done. Vampiro def. World Champion Ted DiBiase with NAIL IN THE COFFIN to win the Title - ***. DiBiase was dominating the action from the opening bell and had picked up several near falls without using a finisher as Vamprio lead the champion to the floor where he ran DiBiase into the post head first. DiBiase was practically out on his feet as Vampiro hit his finisher to claim the World Title in his first offensive move of the match!

Stratus drew on the fans support and made her own comeback and was the first competitor to be able to land her finisher and it gave her the win. Jazz def. Tina Moretti with a double underhook suplex - **** ½. This was an absolute war as these battled back and forth in and out the ring exchanging near falls. Jazz was able to survive a JUMPING FACEBUSTER and power back into control of the action with a late Southern Comfort taking a lot of the remaining fight out of Moretti.
Mildred Burke def. Sherri Martel with an ALLIGATOR CLUTCH- * ½. Morgan Dollar had strict instructions before the bell but the action went to floor early regardless and Martel ended up on the wrong side of an Irish whip reversal and when hard into the post. She never recovered and Burke retained.

Card 42 – Civic Arena, Pittsburgh, PA
Frank Dalton & Tommy Gilbert def. Too Cool (Brian Christopher & Scott Taylor) when Gilbert pinned Taylor with a RUNNING KNEE LIFT – dud. This was over in less than ten moves with Taylor never being able to get out of the ring and both Dalton and Gilbert dominating the crowd favorite.
Ron Hutchison def. Steve Corino by disqualification for using a chair – dud. Corino has words for Morgan Dollar before the bell and Dollar is anything but pleased. Corino could care less about Dollar tonight and proceeds to punish his opponent with a series of suplexes before grabbing a chair and bringing it into the ring and attack Hutchison.
Mikey Whipwreck def. Lou Albano with a slingshot neck snap - ***. The fans were entertained from start to finish in this one as Whipwreck hitting his WHIPPER-SNAPPER back to back but could not come away with a victory before Albano used Dr. Mike Lano as a foreign object to mount an impressive comeback but the fans spurred Whipwreck back into control and he scored big victory.
Jack Brisco def. “Iron” Mike DiBiase with a lateral guillotine - ***. Brisco was fired up and looking for to get his win back from DiBiase and dominated almost the entire contest. Brisco showed some toughness surviving a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK and a pair of ROLLING REVERSE CRADLES.
Texas Hangmen (Killer & Psycho) def. Flying Redheads (Red Bastien & Billy Red Lyons) when Psycho pinned Bastien with a running power slam - * ½. The action was back and forth before the referee was knocked down for eight moves. After the official recovered, the Hangmen took control with a mix of power and double teaming that proved too much for the Redheads to overcome.
Killer Kowalski def. Pampero Firpo in a Pittsburgh Street Fight with a KOWALSKI CLAW - ** ½. The action spilled to the parking lot and back again as both men left nothing left to chance and both men were a bloody mess before Kowalski trapped Firpo in his finisher for the win.
Ted DiBiase def. World Champion Vampiro with a sleeper to win the Title - **. The action was intense from the opening bell and Vampiro sent his challenger into the ring post busting him open. DiBiase came back despite his blood loss and trapped the champion in a sleeper that Vampiro could not break free from. The match was over quickly just like the title reign of Vampiro.
News and Views: Congratulations are in order for Ted DiBiase who is now a three time World Champion with his victory tonight. Vampiro and DiBiase will look to settle things at Madison Square Garden (45) when they clash in a best of three falls match . . . Speaking of the Madison Square Garden event, Women’s Champion Mildred Burke will put her title on the line against Trish Stratus . . . Also on the card, Killer Kowalski will meet Pampero Firpo in a Street Fight. A victory by Kowalski might just solidify his position as the next challenger for the World Title . . .
