Card 01 National Arena, Washington, DC
Too Cool def. Texas Hangmen when Brian Christopher used a standing leg drop on Psycho - ***. Hot opener that could have gone to either team. The fans watched as the Hangmen unleashed pure brutality first on Scott Taylor and later on Christopher but key pin saves kept Too Cool alive long enough to thrill the fans with THE WORM for near fall before Christopher picked up the victory for his team.
Redd Dogg def. Al Snow w/Head with an overhead belly to belly suplex - *. Some brief back and forth before Dogg takes control including a BLACKOUT that does not quite get the win.
Francine def. Joyce Grable by disqualification – dud. This was over before it really started as Grable grabbed a chair from her opponent and decided to use it.
Gorgeous George w/Cherie Dupré def. Diamond Dallas Page by disqualification -*. George took his time “preparing” for action enraging the fans in the process but Page gave everyone something to cheer about beating George from corner to corner including a pair of near falls. Dupré tries to get involved with her shoe but Page gains control of the weapon, plants a kiss on Dupré and then plants the shoe into George’s skull for the disqualification.
Fit Finlay def. Angelo Poffo by disqualification - *. Three in a row end up on the floor with an inconclusive finish. Finlay controls most of the action until Poffo shows his frustration and blast Finlay with a chair cross the back.
Ted DiBiase def. Larry Hennig with a fist drop - ** ½. This was a thriller with both men using their finisher in the first few minutes of the bout before things brew into a back and forth battle that DiBiase barely wins.
Flying Redheads def. Sheepherders when Billy Red Lyons used a SLEEPERHOLD on Butch Miller - **. The Redheads with a statement victory tonight as their speed keeps the Sheepherders on the defensive and causing them to miss a RUNNING KNEE SMASH as well.
Card 02 Auditorium, Buffalo, NY
King Kong Bundy def. Blue Meanie with a bear hug – ½. Meanie controlled the early action in this heavyweight battle but Bundy recovered and dominated the last half of the contest before getting the submission.
Candi Divine & Malia Hosaka def. Jazz & Tina Moretti when Divine submitted Jazz with a Boston Crab – ¾. Hosaka used her agility to keep Jazz guessing long enough to allow Divine to tag in and go to work picking up a near fall with a CROSS BODY BLOCK before getting the submission win.
Big Van Vader def. Hugh Morrus with a RELEASED POWER BOMB - *. Morrus had the fans on their feet as he dominated the match but Vader took advantage of his limited opportunities and executed one of his finishers in just his fourth offensive move of the match.
Abdullah the Butcher def. Jimmy Snuka with a SUDANESE MEAT CLEAVER - ** ½. Snuka rocked the Auditorium early including a SUPERFLY LEAP but could not get the victory before Butcher came back with a violent assault in and out of the ring before using his own finisher on a bloodied Superfly.
Terry Gordy def. Vampiro with an STF - ** ½. Excellent back and forth battle that could have gone either way as Vampiro used multiple strikes and kicks to gain near falls before Gordy slowed it down with an ORIENTAL SPIKE and back to back STF holds to get the win.
Road Warriors w/Paul Ellering def. Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff when Hawk used a gut wrench suplex on Volkoff and Animal blocked the pin save – ¾. The Warriors cut off Volkoff from the opening bell and never allowed Sheik into the match. Sheik saved his partner after a DOOMSDAY DEVICE but the big Russian had no such luck after a series of suplexes from Hawk.
Killer Kowalski def. Barry Windham with a KOWALSKI CLAW - ** ½. Windham struggled to figure out his opponent early and soon was overwhelmed by Kowalski’s all out assault including a pair of Bombs Away and two giant swings before Kowalski used his finisher to end it.
Card 03 Boston Garden, Boston, MA
With the eight competitors in the upcoming North East Legends World Championship Tournament appearing in a huge eight-man tag team main event, media is all over the place including Dr. Mike Lano positioned a ringside for each of tonight’s bouts.
Al Snow w/head def. Redd Dogg by pin after arm trap and head butts – dud. The finish came out of nowhere after Snow turned the momentum of the action by blocking a backdrop with a piledriver.
Mildred Burke & Princess Victoria def. Fabulous Moolah & Beverley Shade - * ¼. Much to the delight of the fans Burke & Moolah did spend some significant time facing off in this tag team encounter with Moolah holding the advantage for the most part but it was their partners who were involved in the finish to the match that included some action captured up close by Dr. Mike Lano on the floor.
Fit Finlay def. Gorgeous George w/Cherie Dupré with a TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER – dud. George spent more time fussing before the bell then the match actually lasted as Finlay moved to his finisher almost immediately. George kicked out the first time and did not the second.
Road Warriors w/Paul Ellering def. Texas Hangmen when Animal pinned Killer with a POWER SLAM - ** ½. The Hangmen elevated their status tonight by giving the Legion of Doom all that they could handle and then some as their illegal switching and double teaming kept this one interesting until the end when Animal countered a deathjump with a superplex and then finished off Killer with his POWER SLAM.
Sheepherders def. Too Cool by disqualification when Scott Taylor slammed Luke Williams face first into the ringside table – dud. The Sheepherders dominate the action including a DOUBLE GUTBUSTER to Brian Christopher but a pin save by Taylor kept the action going.
Larry Hennig def. King Kong Bundy by disqualification when Bundy smashed Hennig in the face with Dr. Mike Lano’s camera- * ½. The action was literally ring shaking before things went to the floor where Bundy left Hennig in a dazed and bloody mess.
Flying Redheads def. Foreign Legion when Red Bastien used an ATOMIC DROP to pin Nikolai Volkoff – ½. Volkoff made the mistake of attempting an attack off the buckles and Bastien countered with a superplex and then connected with his finisher. No pin save from the Sheik and it appears that the Foreign Legion are not at the top of their game.
Terry Gordy, Diamond Dallas Page, Jimmy Snuka & Barry Windham def. Ted DiBiase, Killer Kowalski, Big Van Vader & Vampiro when Page pinned Vampiro after a face-first piledriver - *** ¾. Excellent main event that had little of everything including referee Morgan Dollar getting knocked down midway through the bout results in some classic mayhem. Page managed to finish Vamprio with back to back face-first piledrivers much to the pleasure of the fans at ringside.
Card 04, Auditorium, Banger, ME
With the eight competitors in the upcoming North East Legends World Championship Tournament appearing against each other in various matches, Dr. Mike Lano is positioned a ringside for each of tonight’s bouts.
Blue Meanie def. Angelo Poffo with a MEANIESAULT - ***. Fun opener with the fans supporting Meanie who turned in an impressive performance controlling a great deal of the action before hitting his finisher for the victory.
Sherri Martel & Melina def. Glamour Girls when Melina used LAST CALL on Leilani Kai - *. Glamour Girls needed to use all of their experience to keep in this one as Martel & Melina pressed the attack and were able to pick up the one-sided victory in shocking fashion despite their inexperience as a team.
Diamond Dallas Page def. Killer Kowalski with a DIAMOND CUTTER - *. Page stunned Kowalski with a quick win in this one after catching Kowalski with an inside cradle for a near fall from Morgan Dollar and then landing his finisher to get the three count.
Hugh Morrus def. Abdullah The Butcher with NO LAUGHING MATTER - *****. This battle of the heavyweights was a violent and bloody as you would expect as Morrus was beating to a bloody mess when he just reached the ropes to escape a nerve hold (roll 11 on pin of 10) and drew on the fans support to mount an incredible comeback that ended with his finisher.
Barry Windham def. Ted DiBiase with a LARIAT - *. Windham made short work of his fellow title tournament participant as Morgan Dollar wanted to see a conclusive finish and that happened in just a few moves.
Road Warriors w/ Paul Ellering def. Sheepherders by disqualification – dud. Not much of the surprise as the Legion of Doom overpower both Luke Miller & Butch Williams before Miller opts for a chair shot on Hawk which is enough to for the official to call the match.
Terry Gordy & Jimmy Snuka def. Big Van Vader & Vampiro by disqualification - * ½. Power packed main event that say Gordy dominate against Vampiro and then go toe to toe with Vader in and out of the ring before Vader was disqualified when he shoved Morgan Dollar to the floor. All four men brawl to the back to end the night.
Card 05 Madison Square Garden, New York, New York
It is the Garden so Morgan Dollar will officiate the title tournament matches and Dr. Mike Lano is positioned at ringside for the duration of the card.
World Title Tournament – Round One
Diamond Dallas Page def. Big Van Vader with a DIAMOND CUTTER – dud. Vader was having his way until Page managed to shove Dr. Mike Lano into Vader at ringside. The distraction allowed Page to regain the ring ahead of Vader and catch him with his finisher as Vader stepped back into the ring in Page’s first offensive move of the match.
Jimmy Snuka def. Terry Gordy with a backbreaker - * ½. Gordy was able to control the early action with his size but Snuka stormed back and even hit his SUPERFLY LEAP but Gordy kicked out much to the amazement of the ringside fans. However, the move clearly left Gordy with little in the tank as he offered very little resistance to his opponent’s attack from that point to the finish.
Ted DiBiase def. Barry Windham with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK - *****. This match could not have been more different than Windham’s squash victor over DIBiase last card as both men battled back and forth exchanging near falls and finishers keeping the fans on the edge of their seats before DiBiase used back to back FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCKS to force Windham to black out.
Killer Kowalski def. Vampiro with a backbreaker - *** ½. AnToo interesting contrast of styles went back and forth but eventually the relentless attack of Kowalski provided too much for Vampiro who managed to survive a KOWALSKI CLAW by making the ropes late in the contest.
Too Cool def. Texas Hangmen when Brian Christopher used a HIP HOP DROP on Psycho - * ½. After a brief series of tags by both teams Scott Taylor took control of the match including a crowd pleasing THE WORM and only a pin save by Killer kept the action going before Christopher tagged in and put Psycho away.
Angelo Poffo def. Fit Finlay by disqualification when Finlay used a chair on Poffo during a brawl on the floor - ** ½. This one had everything including multiple trips to ringside where Poffo sent Finlay into the ring post busting him open early in the match before Finlay gave Poffo the crimson mask as well with the match ending chair shot. Both men brawled until security arrived to break things up.
Ida Mae Martinez def. Nora Greenwald with flying head scissors – dud. This was a complete squash from start to finish as Greenwald had zero offense.
World Title Tournament – Semi Finals
Diamond Dallas Page def. Jimmy Snuka by disqualification when he tossed Page into the ringside table – Dud. The fans were anything but pleased with Morgan Dollar who was officiating all of the title tournament matches tonight as he made a quick disqualification call after only a few moves.
Ted DiBiase over Killer Kowalski by disqualification when Kowalski attacked DiBiase on the floor with a chair. For the second straight match, Morgan Dollar was quick to end things as this one lasted just three moves with Kowalski being the aggressor before being bounced from the tournament for being too aggressive.
Sheepherders def. Flying Redheads by disqualification when Bastien used a chair to crack Luke Williams across the back - **. There was some real intensity between these two teams who both showed they were not afraid to mix it up with Billy Red Lyons being busted open during a brawl with Butch Miller on the floor about midway through the match. The Redheads want some more of their opponents are happy to escape ringside with the winner’s purse.
Road Warriors & Paul Ellering def. Abdullah The Butcher & Foreign Legion by disqualification when Abdullah The Butcher made use foreign object on Animal - * ½. Ellering was cut off early on and took a beating at the hands of Iron Sheik including a loaded boot that busted Ellering open before he was able to make a defensive tag to Animal who ended up in a fight for his life on the floor with Butcher. The Legion of Doom clean house after the match much to the delight of the fans.
World Title Tournament – Finals
Diamond Dallas Page def. Ted DiBiase with a DIAMOND CUTTER - ** ½. DIBiase looked to be in cruise control when Page dropped him with a DIAMOND CUTTER on defense. DiBiase just got his shoulder up but Page immediately hit his finisher a second time and is the first North East Legends World Champion!

Beyond the Dice: The goal of the first five cards was to build to the World Title Tournament at MSG and to get all the competitors into action. Diamond Dallas Page stuns everyone and walks away the World Title as the number eight seed in the tournament. Missing from the contenders list are Terry Gordy and Big Van Vader both of whom have departed the territory for Japan. Also leaving the territory are Redd Dogg, Blue Meanie and Gorgeous George. Dogg and Meanie are heading to a smaller company with a focus on a more extreme type of action while George is heading to the west coast (the federation management chart dealt me heavy blow dictating that my roster had to be cut by five!). Coming up, the next series of shows will feature the ongoing tournament to determine the World Tag Team Champions. Plus, B.G. James will make his debut on card 07. Diamond Dallas Page def. Ted DiBiase with a DIAMOND CUTTER - ** ½. DIBiase looked to be in cruise control when Page dropped him with a DIAMOND CUTTER on defense. DiBiase just got his shoulder up but Page immediately hit his finisher a second time and is the first North East Legends World Champion!

Beyond the Dice: The goal of the first five cards was to build to the World Title Tournament at MSG and to get all the competitors into action. Diamond Dallas Page stuns everyone and walks away the World Title as the number eight seed in the tournament. Missing from the contenders list are Terry Gordy and Big Van Vader both of whom have departed the territory for Japan. Also leaving the territory are Redd Dogg, Blue Meanie and Gorgeous George. Dogg and Meanie are heading to a smaller company with a focus on a more extreme type of action while George is heading to the west coast (the federation management chart dealt me heavy blow dictating that my roster had to be cut by five!). Coming up, the next series of shows will feature the ongoing tournament to determine the World Tag Team Champions. Plus, B.G. James will make his debut on card 07.
