Thanks
TTX . If you thought that was an impressive, check out what happened at MSG...
Card 10 Madison Square Garden, New York, New York
The Garden is rammed before the opening bell. Dr. Mike Lano is at ringside to cover the action and Morgan Dollar will officiate the title matches as well.
B.G. James def. Al Snow w/head with a James Gang Pounce - * ½. A fun opener and James looked very impressive keeping Snow on the defensive for most of the match.
King Kong Bundy def. Larry Hennig with an ATLANTIC CITY AVALANCHE - ****. The big men were out next and the fans were treated to a slugfest from start to finish. Bundy was the aggressor for the most part and squashed Hennig with two ATLANTIC CITY AVALANCHES during the match which saw both men wear the crimson mask before the war was finished with a five count.
Beverly Shade def. Princess Victoria with THE HAMMER - *. Shade had been waiting anxiously to get back into the ring with Victoria after the popular Canadian pinned her during a tag team encounter back on Card 03 in Boston. She wasted no time going after Victoria and completely dominated the match. Victoria managed to kick out after THE HAMMER but a second one ended it.
Barry Windham def. Killer Kowalski with a SWEETWATER SUPLEX - **. Kowalski came out strong but Windham was able to use his agility to come back and use a series of figure four leg locks to get an attempted submission before connecting with one of his finisher for the win.
Flying Redheads def. Sheepherders by disqualification – dud. This a rematch from the last card in the Garden and this time it was the Redheads who came away with the disqualification victory when Butch Miller rammed a chair into Billy Red Lyons’ midsection. Bastien was able to hold off the post match attack of his opponents when he wisely grabbed a chair of his own.
Angelo Poffo def. Fit Finlay with a NECKBREAKER in a New York City Street Fight - *. Fans were hoping for more out of this one but Finlay took a wicked bump into the ringsteps and had nothing left to kick out of Poffo’s finisher in under ten moves.
Foreign Legion def. Too Cool when Nikolai Volkoff pinned Scott Taylor after a throat drop on ropes – *. Tool Cool had their opponents on the defensive from the outset but eventually the skill and power of Iron Sheik turned the momentum before the big Russian entered the match and dominated Taylor for the win.
Abdullah The Butcher def. Jimmy Snuka with a SUDANESE MEAT CLEVER - ****. Butcher quickly went to work with his weapons craving the Superfly into a bloody mess but Snuka kicked out after Butcher’s finisher cane roared back ramming Butcher into the ring post and cracking him with a chair. Both men bled buckets and Butcher was able to catch Snuka on the top of the corner and slam him to the mat to set up the finishing blow.
Vampiro def. Hugh Morrus with NAIL IN THE COFFFIN - * ½. A fast-paced encounter that went back and forth but Vampiro countered a corner attack with a clothesline and then hit his finisher moments later to get the win.
Mildred Burke def. Fabulous Moolah with an ALLIGATOR CLUTCH - *. Fans were expecting a classic but this was a total squash as Burke countered everything Moolah had and easily submitted her opponent for the win.
World Tag Team Title Tournament Finals: Texas Hangmen def. Road Warriors w/Paul Ellering after a HANGMEN’S BACKBREAKER to Hawk to win the titles - *. In an upset for the ages, Hawk found himself backdropped to the floor early on in this one and when he regained the ring, the Hangmen capitalized with their finisher. No pin save from Animal who was stunned as Morgan Dollar finished the three count.
Ted DiBiase def. World Champion Diamond Dallas Page with a FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK to win the title - ****. This was a hard-fought encounter from start to finish. DiBiase really pressed the attack midway through the match but Page, fueled by the fans, refused to lose but a chop block at ringside late in the match did enough damage to Page’s leg that he had no choice but to submit when DiBiase immediately applied his finisher.

Beyond the Dice: In an incredible turn of events, both of the lowest seeds (Diamond Dallas Page last month in the World Title Tournament and Texas Hangmen this month in the World Tag Team Tournament) have defeated the field and walked away for the gold. Page did not hold his title long and we will see how long the Hangmen can keep the belts . . . Ted DiBiase is the new World Champion and his tactics over the past few cards have made him one of the most hated men in the territory. Success has come at a price! . . .The federation management chart has dictated that three new faces will join the active roster. We are drawing from the mid-level level from the roster pool currently . . .The next set of shows will look to blow off the Poffo v. Finlay feud while taking the Snuka – Abdullah war to the next level! . . . Plus, Hawk and Animal are not happy so it could be a long series of cards for the Tag Team Division. Cannot wait for the dice to hit the table….!
