I knew when I started playing way back in the 80's that there was way too many DQ's. So I used the KISS method - keep it simple stupid, and I put everybodys DQ at 4. No rolling twice or anything else - everybodys DQ is 4.

I need to try the double roll for DQs.
A few of mine: 1. Sudden start - If when rolling to go first, one wrestler rolls 6 and the other rolls 1, the wrestler with 6 attacks on L 2 Offense instead of L1.
2. Counters - If a Pin with a finisher ends with 11-12 and is not a pin, the victim counters and the attacker now rolls on L3 Defense.
3. Last Man Standing - I roll pubs but the difference between the Pin and roll is the current count. I then reroll until the wrestler either stands or the count hits 10.

I know I'm bumping an old thread but I like this one the best.. will need to save some of these rules when I finally get my legends set this month.. I really like the double roll for DQs but how about if it lands on the exact number, its just a warning or you get away with it entirely.. meaning DQ rating of 5, you roll 5.. no DQ, has to be under. I've thought I could do something similar with Champions advantage. Won't always come up but if you roll the pin exactly, then foot on the rope etc.
Really like the (ag) and (pw) house rules, it makes it more dramatic.

At the start of the match I roll two dice. If someone rolls 12 they start on Level 2 Offence. Same goes if the opponent rolls Snake Eyes.
If both Boxcars and Snake Eyes come up the winning wrestler rolls on Level 3 Offence. I consider this the one wrestling jumping the opponent before the bell to try and get the quick victory.
I also use the dual roll for disqualification, as I find this leads to a way lesser amount of disqualification outcomes.

I've recently started doing something like this too.. when I roll doubles to see who goes first... the guy who gets to start on the 2nd roll starts on level 2 offense. If a 2nd set of doubles happens, they start on level 3 (that's only happened once)

I've done a lot with 11-12 and 2-3, just gets matches going faster.

Regarding the (ag) and (pw) house rules, could I go the other way with it. Meaning a wrestler tries a (pw move) and their advantage is 1, could I make dice roll of 8, adding 1 to the 7 and thus making it easier for them? Or would that not seem natural?

Yea you could do that and you’ll be rolling more and making matches longer. I like this house rule but it makes the matches longer since you spend more time on LVL 1. The original rules deter going back to level 1 offense unless one wrestler has the advantage.

The original rules deter going back to level 1 offense unless one wrestler has the advantage. Would you really be on L1 more, though? (ag)/(pw) moves never follow a 1 move and if it's countered, the opponent takes over on L2O. So you're rolling on L2O (on an unsuccessful move) or L2D/L3D no matter what.

I wouldn't necessarily want matches to go to much longer, there's already alot of back and forth already with even wrestlers. Just by the fact its one dice roll each side so you're going to get similar results (not a critque, the system works) So maybe I only do it once to simulate a struggle in the match.. After that, it works for the favored wrestler.
