NWA Championship Wrestling Saturday at 6:05PM EST
Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone kick off the show with a quick rundown of the major happenings from Season's Beatings and then throw it to the ring for the opening contest.
- The Long Riders and The Fantastics wrestled to a 10-minute television time limit draw. Nothing was settled here as two teams looking for a shot at the champs did everything in their power but could not put each other away within the ten minute time limit afforded to television matches. A rematch surely will be scheduled as The Fantastics campaigned for the old "five more minutes" but the referee would not comply and the Long Riders refused to do it anyway since they "only agreed to ten minutes", leaving the fans unsatisfied and Bobby and Tommy frustrated.
- Magnum TA made a successful in-ring debut with a win over George South. Magnum breezed to the win after a big running forearm set up the belly to belly for the pin.
Magnum joined Ross and Schiavone at ringside after the match. He once again spoke of his altercation with Race and his desire to be US champion and then out came the world champion RANDY SAVAGE. Savage said as far as he's concerned nothing was settled between Race and him, but Barry Windham is the next man on his radar for what he did superplexing the Macho Man onto a steel chair. So Magnum has the world champ's full support going after Race and the US title. Magnum thanked him and said anytime the champ needs someone to watch his back, all he needs to do is place the call and Magnum TA will be there.
- Sam Houston scored his first win in the area with a pinfall over Kenny Jay. Sam got the much needed win in a short match, getting the victory via Bulldog.
After the match ABDULLAH THE BUTCHER rushed the ring and began decimating both competitors with a wooden table leg. He then dropped the Meat Cleaver elbow on both repeatedly as JJ DILLON walked over to Ross and Shiavone.
JJ said he is "the acting representative for the madman from the Sudan, Abdullah The Butcher. Butcher is here to act as a mercenary for hire and take care of some unfinished business for his client. Who that client is and what that business is will be revealed in due time, but what is certain now is that with Abdullah The Butcher in NWA Championship wrestling, no one is safe".
- Johnny Saint won by disqualification over Exotic Adrian Street. Saint was put off by Street's pre-match behavior, which gave Street the opening to jump him at the bell and control the early minutes of the match. Saint used his peculiar style of escapes and counters to get back into the match and seemed on the verge of winning when Miss Linda reached in and raked his eyes as he locked in an elevated surfboard on the Exotic one.
- The Bolsheviks won by disqualification over Brad and Bob Armstrong in a controversial decision. The Russian team came out with Ivan's signature Russian chain and it came into play late into this hotly contested match. Boris tossed Brad out of the ring and choked him with the chain as Volkoff distracted the referee. Brad fought back inside the ring and tagged out to Bob. Bob cleared house on the Russians and threw Boris out of the ring, then used the chain to whip him across the back. The referee called for the disqualification as Boris and Nikolai departed the ringside area like the yellow foreign invaders they are! Bob led a "USA!" chant as the show went off the air.

Enjoyed the show, sir. Do you have a method of reaching a time limit draw? I like the way you handled the Long Riders in that situation. Sam Houston about to set the NWA on fire! ABDULLAH THE BUTCHER is going to be some nice chaos in your NWA. Armstrongs ain't puttin' up with no Russian shit!

Thought "this feels like it's taking a long time for a TV match", looked at the clock, "one more minute", no winner "ten minute draw". And now I have an issue on the fly between two teams I didn't plan on matching up again anytime soon . You do notice twice now I've put the Armstrongs in the feature match/main event spot? And I'll keep trying until they win one! 😆

I ended up going a couple more turns and then called it a draw. Great read, Ill be checking back soon!

Once again, it's 6:05PM on the Superstation with your hosts Jim Ross and Tony Schivone
-Abdullah The Butcher jump started the show while the announcers were doing the introductions, throwing his scheduled opponent young Scott Taylor through the curtain with the referee chasing close behind. Abdullah brutalized Taylor and got the pin after the Meat Cleaver elbow drop while JJ Dillon joined the team on commentary.
-Barry Windham pinned Johnny Mantell after the Lariat. Mantell got an early advantage, but Windham shut him down quick and got the pin in under two minutes.
Harley Race and the Long Riders joined Barry at the commentary area following the bout. Harley said people got the wrong idea that he hired the Outlaws of Wrestling to try to injure Randy Savage before their title match, something a man of Race's character would never do. Windham said he took it upon himself because he was out to make a statement, one that Savage heard loud and clear. Race concluded that they have a mutual problem now with Savage and Magnum TA that maybe they need to team up next week to settle. Windham said TA and the world champion could consider it an official challenge.
- Bob Arstrong beat Boris Zhukov after the Georgia Jawjacker. Bob had the match seemingly won when Nikolai jumped on the apron for the distraction. That gave Boris a chance to attack from behind, but Brad Armstrong returned the favor and saved his father from a near fall. Bob got the advantage and won with his finisher while Brad held off Nikolai.
- Jimmy Snuka pinned Masked Superstar after a piledriver. This was an intense brawl of a match between the two rivals. Snuka finally got the decisive win after a series of backbreakers and a piledriver.
The Road Warriors and Paul Ellering were being interviewed by Tony about their successful title defense when Jim Cornette came out and started bad mouthing them. While the Warriors and Paul were distracted the Midnight Express ran in from behind with steel folding chairs and put the beat down on the Warriors. They then tossed Ellering into the ring and used the Veg-O-Matic on him to drive their point home.
- The Fantastics won by disqualification over the Long Riders. Another surprisingly good bout between the two very contrasting teams. Nothing was really settled as the match ended with a brawl on the floor. Wild Bill grabbed his bullwhip and began choking Tommy out to prompt the disqualification. The Fantastics won the match but ended the show laid out on the floor.

Poor Scott Taylor what did he do to deserve a match with Abby? Cornette and the Express are biting off more than they can chew!

Poor Scott Taylor what did he do to deserve a match with Abby? Cornette and the Express are biting off more than they can chew! Scott Taylor just isn't too Cool yet. Not even too much. Just a young guy trying to find his niche. But I do run a tag team heavy territory, so maybe he will find a partner eventually and make something of himself.

Once again, the action from the Superstation at 6:05PM With Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross
- Bruiser Brody stomped his way to a win over The Tokyo Monster. The upstart from Tokyo gave it his all, but Brody was too big and powerful to be stopped and got the pin after his jumping knee drop.
Ross interviewed Brody at ringside after the match. Brody said he got rid of one big problem by running Bundy out of the area, but now there's another familiar face here to causes some mayhem. JJ Dillon says Abdullah's here as a mercenary, and Bruiser intuition tells him he knows the target, so bring it on.
- The Midnight Express (w/Jim Cornette) beat Sam Houston and Tom Carter. Houston and Carter tried to give it a go early, but the youths were too reckless and got cut off quick. Condrey pinned Carter with the face first leg sweep.
After the match THE ROAD WARRIORS rushed the ring and beat the $#!+ out of the Express as Cornette looked on in terror from the corner. After the Warriors were done dumping the Express out of the ring, Animal grabbed Cornette and set him up for Hawk and the Doomsday Device.
The Road Warriors joined Tony in the commentary station after the bout. Animal said the MX made the mistake of their lives trying to jump in line for a tag team title shot like they did last week, jumping them and attacking Paul. Hawk said that "if they put one of ours in the hospital, we put one of theirs in the morgue" and finished by asking how far Cornette, Eaton, and Condrey want to take it.
- Johnny Saint won a thrilling bout over Adrian Street with the Johnny Saint special. Saint got revenge from the tainted loss two weeks back. Street was well in control when Saint "turtled up" and surprised Street with his Special for the win.
- Hacksaw Duggan won by disqualification over Ivan Koloff. Big time brawl that went to the floor. Koloff once again grabbed the dreaded chain and used it to earn the disqualification. Security was quickly called to make sure no Russia/USA post match mayhem took place this week.
US champion Harley Race and Outlaw Barry Windham entered the commentary area. Race said it's time to see if the wanna be heroes had the guts to show up. And of course they did. Savage and Magnum came to fight and jumped in the ring, but Race told them to slow down. He said they challenged them to come here for more than a simple fight. He said they want a tag team match at the New Year's Spectacular, no disqualification. Savage nodded in agreement as Windham took over. Barry said the catch is, the winner of the fall gets to call his shot and get a single match with either man from the other side. Magnum said that's great because after he pins Race in the middle of the ring he will be one step closer to the US title.
The Long Riders ran to the ring, but were cut off by The Fantastics. In the distraction, Race and Windham jumped Magnum and Savage. Windham and Savage brawled out to the floor. Race was beating down Magnum in the ring until Magnum caught him with yet another flash belly to belly suplex and counted his own visual pin as the fans went wild to end the show.

NWA Worldwide W/Gordon Solie and Bob Caudle
Featuring matches from around the country and the various territories of the NWA.
Special roughouse edition
In a bout from NWA Championship -Abdullah the Butcher pinned Jimmy Valiant after the Meat Cleaver. Jimmy did not make it easy and gave JJ Dillon a few nervous moments at ringside, but in the end Abby got the win after about six minutes of action.
From California - Ox Baker won by disqualification over Bull Curry. A very quick brawl spilled out of the ring where Bull grabbed a chair right out from under a fan and used it on the head of the Ox to earn the disqualification.
In the studio Gordon interviewed Exotic Adrian Street. Street said Johnny Saint got a lucky win thanks to a fast count, but he is challenging to a (pause for dramatic effect) rubber match (provacative look into the camera) to decide the top man between them, and this one shall be two out of three falls.
From Philadelphia Extreme - Sandman pinned Justin Credible after using the Singapore Cane. Very solid back and forth fight. The canes from Singapore came into play on more than one occasion and eventually led to the win for the Sandman.
From Minnesota -The Crusher defeated Mad Dog Vachon via Crusher Nelson. The two stout fighters went nose to nose and blow for blow until Crusher slapped on the Nelson to win the fairly short but well fought match.
Gordon and Bob in the studio recapped the situation between the Midnight Express and The Road Warriors from the past two weeks. They stated that Cornette is at home recovering and will be sending a recorded message for the Road Warriors to be played on next week's NWA Championship show.
And in the main event - The Fantastics defeated the Long Riders in a no disqualification match. Classic tag team action, nearly perfectly wrestled bout putting the agility of the Fantastics against the brawling style of the Irwin brothers. Action in and out of the ring with the end coming when Tommy ducked a clothesline on the floor and sent Wild Bill crashing hard into the ring post. Tommy tossed him back into the ring to set up the Fantastic Flip and the pin.
