Pampero Firpo vs.
Jake MillimanPampero Firpo defeated Jake Milliman with an EL GARFIO at 3:00
Match Rating: 0.10
Match Notes: Firpo came on strong, but Milliman ducked outside and actually out brawled Firpo - smashing him into the steel guardrail!
Back inside, 'the Milkman' tried to get something started, and the fans backed him, but Firpo took advantage of a missed dropkick and mauled him with a big knee lift. Soon after, he applied EL GARFIO for the victory!
Lelani Kai and
Judy Martin vs.
Susan Green and
Joyce GrableJudy Martin defeated Susan Green with a hair pull whirly bird at 25:07
Match Rating: 4.50
Match Notes: This was a great tag team match!
All four women fought tooth and nail for the win, and it was truly anyone's match.
Kai struck early with a RUNNING SPLASH, but Green kicked out and came back with fire. Kai looked good most of the bout, but she could never sustain offense after the opening moments - always getting cut off by either Green or Grable for a comeback.
The match had an awesome exchange as Kai went up, but Green tossed her from the turnbuckle and went up herself only to be tossed by Kai. Kai worked over Green's back and nearly scored big with a Boston Crab.
Grable and Green would battle back and had Judy Martin in big trouble. The match got a little out of control. A big brawl broke out between all four on the outside, nearly ending it in a no contest. Grable seemingly neutralized beverly Shade, but things broke down at the end.
Green had Martin all but put away with the TEXAS BULLDOG when Shade dragged the ref out! While the ref argued with Shade, Kai ran in and knocked Green for a loop with a big running clothesline to the back of the head. She then put Martin on top, and even though Green kicked out, it was elementary from there.
The Glamour and the Hammer stole one here!
[Tokens: Green - 2, Grable - 2, Martin - 3, Kai - 0]
Bob Orton Jr vs.
Bob RoopBob Orton Jr defeated Bob Roop with a SUPERPLEX at 4:15
Match Rating: 2.25
Match Notes: Piper accompanied Orton to the ring, and Roop spent the early moments jawing at Piper. It may have cost him as Orton attacked at the bell, and the match quickly became a brawl that spent more time outside than inside the ring.
Roop went after Piper, and it cost him dearly as Orton rocked him and shoved him into the post.
That set the tone, and Orton beat down a dazed Roop and hit the SUPERPLEX for a big win!
Piper and Orton celebrated as Roop, hurting, shuffled to the back. Without his backup, the complexion of this feud has changed drastically. Perhaps it's time for the board to sign that big match between Piper and Roop?
- - Non-Title - -The Kangaroos vs.
Valiant Brothers Johnny Valiant defeated Roy Heffernan with a SPINNING NECKBREAKER at 9:10
Match Rating: 3.25
Match Notes: The Kangaroos used various double-team moves, strong tag work in several situations, and big moves to keep the Valiants backpedaling.
But a hot tag to Jimmy changed the complexion of things, and Jimmy and Johnny went to work on Al Costello with a speedy series of tags and double-team moves.
The action would spill outside between Heffernan and Johnny Valiant. Johnny took the fight to him in a wild brawl and then rolled him in, caught with the SPINNING NECKBREAKER, and got a quick pin before Costello or Berry could make a save!
This win all but ensures the Valiants will get a title shot on the next Memorial Hall card!

Bobo Brazil vs.
Killer KowalskiBobo Brazil defeated Killer Kowalski with a DQ at 5:34
Match Rating: 2.00
Match Notes: These two got involved in the Rogers/Valentine feud - Kowalski as Rogers hired gun, it seems, and Brazil coming to the aid of Valentine to even the odds. Squaring off against one another was a no-brainer after their recent interactions.
Rogers and Valentine accompanied their respective allies.
They jockeyed for position early on and then unleashed a few big moves each. Kowalski survived a big hammer and then unleashed a series of strikes before hitting a huge overhead body slam. He then threw Brazil from the ring and that's when things broke down.
Rogers told Kowalski to hurt Bobo and Valentine went after the Nature Boy. The ref, however, did his duty and watched the wrestlers in the match - seeing Kowalski hit Brazil with a chair to draw the DQ!
Valentine was looking for blood, but Kowalski backed off and he and Rogers made their way to the back.
- - 2/3 Falls Match - -Rikidozan vs.
The Spoilerfor the
NWA Central States Heavyweight ChampionshipRikidozan defeated The Spoiler with a HIPLOCK at 27:17
The Spoiler defeated Rikidozan with a knee lift at 14:06
The Spoiler defeated Rikidozan with a cross-body from the top at 34:47
Match Rating: 4.50
Match Notes: Some pundits believed that Spoiler might have jumped the line; others think that's pocky-cock. Most, however, thought this match would be somewhat elementary for Rikidozan. The Spoiler was out to prove otherwise.
This was a great back and forth contest that saw each man pull out all the stops and all the moves in their arsenal, though the Spoiler never locked on his claw hold.
The first fall came after a hard-fought 15 minutes, and the Spoiler hit a big knee lift on a weakened Rikidozan for a 3-count [snake-eyes].
The second fall was as hotly contested as the first, and both men see-sawed for the advantage - neither sustained it for very long. In the end, Rikidozan applied the HIPLOCK for a near fall and then another to seal the deal.
Going into the third and final fall, the action continued to be a battle between two mighty forces. The Spoiler was hurting but managed to high a big lariat out of the corner than rocked Rikidozan. The Japanese star would battle back but never came back fully, and Spoiler took some big hits before hitting another crushing knee lift.
Spoiler went up top and came off with a big cross-body - impressive for a man of his size onto a man of Rikidozan's size. It was enough, and he scored the 1, 2, 3 to take the final fall and the Central States Heavyweight title!
Incredible!
The Spoiler won the NWA Central States Heavyweight Championship
