Yeah, I was shocked about Spoiler's win but I can point to his agility and power (-1s) and Rikidozan's Choice C on level 2 offense as the chief factor in the length and competitiveness of the bout as well as Spoiler's win. It created enough of wild-card that it tilted the match in his favor a number of times. I thought Rikidozan had it at one point but the tides turned. Still, some exciting stuff on the horizon! I'll probably send Rikidozan off for a while - perhaps he'll chase Thesz' title in another territory - maybe even Japan. The next challenger will either be Valentine or Rogers depending on how their feud turns out.

Wrestling at the Chase 01.09.2021 from Chase Park Plaza Hotel, St. Louis, MO
Harley Race vs. Jake Milliman Harley Race defeated Jake Milliman with a VERTICAL SUPLEX at 1:13 Match Rating: 0.10 Match Notes: Race has slowly but surely been rebuilding his momentum and wants to have another shot at what he still considers "his" CSW Heavyweight Title.
Milliman actually came out of the gate with some big offense, but a big headbutt from Race cut off his momentum and a VERTICAL SUPLEX later it was all over.
- The Hot Seat w/ Bill Apter - Apter welcomes the new NWA Central States Heavyweight Champion, the Spoiler, to the Hot Seat.
Spoiler wastes no time in bragging about his victory over former champ Rikidozan and proclaims himself the future of the Central States promotion. As far as he's concerned, Rikidozan should hop on the first jet out of the Midwest because his time is clearly up.
Apter asks about potential challengers for the title and lists names like Johnny Valentine, Harley Race, and, of course, Blackjack Mulligan.
Spoiler says all in good time. At this point, he should be allowed to soak in his win and that the people deserve to see a real champion in all his glory, giving them the opportunity to shower the praise he so richly deserves.
Apter presses him on challengers, particularly Mulligan.
Spoiler starts to lose his cool and say Mulligan doesn't deserve a shot! He never earned a shot like the Spoiler did!
A commotion off screen interrupts the interview as Mulligan and Masked Superstar can be heard shouting to the Spoiler! The Spoiler says there's no way Mulligan is getting a shot. Mulligan then challenges him to a tag match tonight!
Bobo Brazil vs. Buddy Rogers Buddy Rogers defeated Bobo Brazil with a chokehold at 27:13 Match Rating: 4.25 Match Notes: Two of the top stars of Central States lock horns spilling out the feud that's developed between Valentin and Rogers and Brazil and Kowalski.
It was an incredible match with so much action it was hard to call. They beat the hell out of one another. Brazil scored early with the COCO BUTT but Rogers wasn't so easy to put away. Brazil kept the pressure on. The action spilled outside and Brazil brutalized Rogers with repeated shots into the guardrail - face first! Rogers was busted open!
Sensing the danger his partner was in, Kowalski made his presence felt and Bobo was nearly counted out, but Valentine evened the odds and nullified the Killer's presence.
Rogers mounted a huge comeback and nearly scored with a rope-assisted pin. Soon the action spilled outside once again and Brazil was cut in the ensuing brawl! Seeing his own blood seemed to set him off and he hit a COCO BUTT back inside that opened Rogers up even further. Soon the peroxide blonde was wearing the crimson mask and his locks were turned red...
Rogers battled back, though, and scored with some big running knees and a pair of piledrivers.
Bobo was in trouble, but Rogers had little strength to follow up. He applied a chokehold and the fans watched as Bobo was fading. The ref tried to break the hold and Rogers simply fell on top of Brazil for the three count!
- Gordon Solie w/ Lou Thesz - Gordon Solie welcomes the NWA World Heavyweight Champion to the show! Thesz is the perfect picture of a composed, gracious champion. A sight better than last we saw him.
Solie congratulates Thesz on his continued run with the title and asks why he's made his way to St. Louis.
THESZ: Gordon, I appreciate that. It's good to be back. As you and the spectators well know, St. Louis is very near and dear to my heart. I'll always keep coming back and be happy to defend this title against the very best this sport offers. But, truth be told, I do have an ulterior motive today. The last time I was here, things did not go the way I'd hoped. The blood in my eyes made it very difficult for me to see, and I hit an official—something I would never knowingly do. On top of a hefty fine, I felt I also cheated these people, and more importantly, a competitor I respect a great deal out of a fair and decent ending to a great match. Rikidozan... I know you no longer hold the title that would ensure a shot against the NWA champion, but you are a wrestler of the very highest caliber. So I am here to challenge you to a wrestling match this Monday night. It will be a non-title contest, and it will be a good old-fashioned wrestling contest—none of this brawling outside the ring or jumping around like acrobats. I want your best, and I want to give you my best in return. And I can guarantee you this... The NWA has assured me that if you win, you will get a shot at this belt the very next week!
It's a bombshell announcement and one that adheres to the highest standards of sportsmanship. The fans are thrilled, Solie is thrilled, and you can imagine that Rikidozan will be too.
The Spoiler and Dutch Savage vs. Blackjack Mulligan and Masked Superstar This match ended in a draw (TIME LIMIT DRAW) at 30:00 Match Rating: 4.00 Match Notes: Lots of hate here. Spoiler and Blackjack have been feuding for months now, and Mulligan believes he should be Central States Heavyweight Champ, not Spoiler. Add in Masked Superstar and Dutch Savage's involvement, and you have two teams that do not like each other.
This match had that animosity on full display. Savage and Mulligan started things off, and Mulligan took out his frustration on Dutch. Mulligan and Superstar worked the tag and had Savage in trouble, but he was able to come back and make a tag of his own. The Spoiler was rarely on the backstep, and the new champ looked great, dominant even, in the ring.
When Mulligan and Spoiler were in the ring together, fans at the Chase were near fever pitch. It's clear they want to see more of these two.
Lots of brawling on the outside and bother Savage and Mulligan were wearing crimson masks by the end of this thing.
After tons of great brawling and quite a few finishers and pin saves, this match looked like it would go the distance... And it did. The timekeeper rang the bell, and the ref called for the draw, but all four kept fighting in spite of exhaustion. Mulligan hit a big lariat on Savage and Superstar, and Blackjack tried to take out the Spoiler, but officials got in between them.
Solie, bravely, got the mic into Mulligan's face. Blood streaming from a cut on his forehead, he had no problem expressing himself.
MULLIGAN: Spoiler! You think this is over! You think your belt proves anything? Dutch Savage won't be able to protect you when I load up this boot or throw this lariat or put the most feared claw hold in the world on you! That belt will be mine!
- TV Time Remaining - Larry Matysik and Gordon Solie apologize to viewers but after the two great matches they saw today, we are all out of time! The Mildred Burke/Leilani Kai title match has been bumped to the All-Star Wrestling card on Monday!
They use this time to hype the upcoming card, especially the Texas Death Match between the Hamilton Wrecking Crew and the Brisco Brothers! Plus, the non-title contest between Rikidozan and Lou Thesz, and the big tag team title match between the Valiants and the Fabulous Kangaroos! The Spoiler will be in action and the Jr. Heavyweight title will also be on the line. It's going to be a stacked card and an event you won't want to miss!
Overall Card Rating: 2.78

I remember Mulligan mentioning about his respect for Superstar when they were doing a cage match that was supposed to go around an hour and Mulligan was hardcore bleeding from a cut on the back of his head. The ref was going to call the match but Superstar locked on the Cobra and eventually cauterized the wound by pressing his mask against Mulligan's head. So fun to see them pairing and quite the match from the looks of it.

Excellent stuff here Tigersamurai! Bobo and Buddy had one heck of a match at the Chase, looking forward to seeing who the Spoiler takes on first for his Central states title. The tag team main event was fun too, Black Jack is incensed! but don't count out the Masksed Superstar...I'm sure he'd love a crack at the gold. Fantastic write up
