Really like this thread, and nice job with the opener, Chad.
For me, I'm about a year (game-wise) behind in posting, but somewhere along the line I told myself that it's OK, I'll get there when (if) I get there. The important thing for me is that I'm enjoying what I'm doing.
It's the same way for me when new sets come out -- I'm "way behind" in introducing new wrestlers into my BCW fed, but it's OK -- I'll get there eventually. In the meantime, the challenge is to try to do interesting things with the wrestlers currently active in BCW -- give them a fair shot, as it were, to make their mark.
I have a busy life, and I also play a lot of Strat-o-Matic, so I get my LOW rolling in where I can, and I enjoy all of it. And that, of course, is the point.
Kudos to all who are posting here and just flat love the game. Keep doing what you are doing, as long as you are happy with it. And thanks as always to the crew at Filsinger Games for making such a great product.

What a great topic! Alrighty, it is time for me to give my two cents... Before my return to the boards this last time, I was caught up in having to post for others and always tried to garner as many comments as I could get. It was getting to me like thinking to myself "why is this person getting all the comments- he/she fed isn't all that (or something like that)?" I became self involved and write ups became work... apparently I am known for long write ups. My mind would get "that way" and I would get caught in the drama (whether there was some or not)...so, I stepped away! A couple of years (probably close to 4 or 5 actually) later...I came back to the game and wondered if I should start over. Swarm convinced me to continue with the fed I had already as I worked hard for the fed's (have over 1000 cards) history and Pariah convinced me to post results that I like...for me and no one else. If it isn't fun, change things... So, here I am almost a year later...I have been posting pretty regularly and slowly catching up...I run my GWF, a FTR (easily my fav fed storyline wise atm), and a results based LOW fed. Whenever it becomes an issue or don't feel it, I step away from the game for a couple of days but stay involved on the board to keep my interest. Plus...my son is playing through the history of GWF and he really keeps it fresh with his tenaciousness of GWF lore and his sense of humor keeps things light hearted. Sooo...that's my theory in a nutshell. I agree with Swarm, it would be hard to restart a fed with that much history. I've enjoyed your Omaha Elite fed a lot! It's been cool to meet Marcus at ICON and see him so enthused about the game. I've appreciated your kids helping me remember how to play the game and their patience with an old timer. Thank you for stopping in on my OEW fed... its on the tale end of Chikara's roster and will be in Evolve territory soon. Your praise means a lot to me sir. Yeah, Marcus is...ummm...how can I say this? A lot to take in as his energy level playing is through the roof and he still talks about the time he spanked you and Connor in a row during a tournament! Talking about old timer, I hit the big 5-0 next friday...mam, where did the time go?

I remember when I first got the game. I just wanted to post results and see how my fellow Promoters handled their feds. This was in 1993, and I was a long ways away from the internet, whew! About the year 2000, the two malls up here had free internet booths so I was able to get online and post results. I didn't have a home comp yet, so it was the mall for me! Well, once I started posting stuff and reading others' feds, I realized that you needed more than just post card results! So I contributed here and there (Deimos Dog Collar, anyone?), and came up with a bunch of bootlegs and posted those. As the years went by, I realize I haven't improved my writing yet (I'm not a writer, but I do get inspired from time to time), but I think I've gotten fairly good at bootlegs. I'm writing a reply to the topic now because, for the first time, I just played out my fed and drew inspriration from little things. My PPV that I posted today was all around a little set-up of Raven. It hit me about his history with Blazing Skull, and a light dawned! Now as I continued, I came up with THREE ways it could be played out: SPOILER IF YOU HAVEN'T READ MY PPV One, Raven could turn heel (the route I went), Two, Blazing Holocaust could turn heel! I didn't go this route since it had NO motivation behind it. This route I just came up with before posting the results. Three, Spike could attack Raven dressed as Splatter! Kind of have the narrative note that he may look like Splatter, but not the HAIR! I didn't go this route because it didn't change anything. The teams remained the same, and it was more just a cosmetic gimmick. I went with the first route since it did shake things up and gives me more possible ways to shift things around. So now you gotta wait to see how it all shakes out = more readers, yay! (I hope, at least, hahaha!) I will plan out the shifting teams once I start up my Kronos fed again. Anyway, I'm taking the weekend off to do streaming on Saturday, then maybe post some new game footage for a game I just downloaded tonight, play out one of my feds on Monday (I think I will stick with Kronos, but I may go back to WAAF since I am REALLY enjoying playing that fed!) As I said, I was inspired by the little thing this time. I thought, "How could I develop something around Raven's narrative?" and that's what I came up with... So yeah, great question! Keep rolling those dice, everyone! Todd C WTIC

Great thread! I got into the game in the summer of 2007 because I saw Canadian Pitbull posting about it on the WrestleFest board. Wild to think it's been nearly half my life at this point, but I guess there's something to be said for the attachment I've had to Legends since high school. I really never jumped in on COTG, but I do have a PWI somewhere around here from 1996 or 1997 that little me filled out the order form for. Obviously it never got sent in, it's kind of funny to think about how different things could be if it were, or if I'd jumped in on the Legends of Wrestling game earlier when I initially saw it in PWI and in Wrestling Superstore catalogs. I've fallen victim numerous times to the "scrap and restart" line of thinking and I think some of that comes from me wanting to do overly detailed recaps on the board. However, with the fed I've been running since September, I've kept results in a notebook for quick reference and I've just enjoyed putting matches and angles together and playing out my fed. It started with the Tragos/Thesz HOF set and other guys from the color game I felt "fit" the style of wrestling and then that no good Titan Sports took over and now I'm just running an 80s WWF style fed and I'm having more fun with the game than I ever have. I've often felt too tied to "my fed is based on this so it HAS to be this way" mindset and with my current fed I've had a bunch of wackiness go down that I've tried to think of clever ways to explain and that's kind of the fun of it, I think. Someday I'll sit down and post all the results provided I can decode my own handwriting

Someday I'll sit down and post all the results provided I can decode my own handwriting This is exactly why started typing my results as they happened. There were too many "What the hell is this supposed to say?" moments.

@kyoken and Gunslinger, I've started typing my results between matches and only recording them in Google Drive, because I had the same issue about my handwriting and my memory!

@kyoken and Gunslinger, I've started typing my results between matches and only recording them in Google Drive, because I had the same issue about my handwriting and my memory! Google drive is the way to go, especially if you want to do some stealth booking at work. I use Google documents for the results and keep my win-loss records and title histories in Google sheets.
