Am I the only one who, when starting at the first set, didn't hold tournaments for the belts? The GWF was in media res after all--we're coming upon it in the middle of the plot, rather than at the beginning. The sample card in the back of the first booklet had Thantos as the Galaxian Champion and the Greek Gods as tag champs, so that's what I went with. Plus Thantos' drawing was wearing a title belt, so I took that to be canon that he was the reigning champion. I did hold an Interstellar Championship tournament in 2089 since it was a new belt being established. This is just something to consider--to treat your fed as something already ongoing rather than starting from scratch. I have done both when starting feds. I have just assigned belts to wrestlers figuring the fed has already been running. I even wrote out a title history. Meanwhile in other feds I look at it like they went thru new owners and/or company name and so decided to do a fresh start. With my current COTG feds I had tournaments for one due to GODSEND taking over and in the other due to it being a brand new fed. For my current LOW feds I just assigned titles.

We've joined the year in progress, with Jack Brisco as NWA champ and Bobby Heenan & Rock Riddle as NWA tag champs. Who did they win the belts from? We might get there someday.

If I ever do a multiple territory setup with one shared champion, I'm going to just assign the belts to the regional champs. Who has time for all those tournaments?

No match for the shake of it . In my Legends LWF & Indies JAWA feds I keep a win/lose record . This decides who enters my PPV Tournaments top say 8 winning % (4 faces and 4 heels) or Royal rumble top 30 enter .

Here's an additional tip that also has the TTX seal of approval. Don't put someone in a tournament or title match unless you're okay with them possibly winning it.

Am I the only one who, when starting at the first set, didn't hold tournaments for the belts? With my last LOW fed, I just had my champions already set. It gives you something to build towards rather than running tournaments and having to cobble together storylines you might not care about if the tournament didn't go the way you envisioned.

When you're just starting a fed, with no feuds and no storylines yet, how do book the first few weeks and how do you rank your wrestlers to determine title shots, main events, etc? I find tournaments are really useful to get you started. There will be at least one match in there that you will want to build off of and your first title challenger can be anyone that made the semi-finals or maybe got hosed by a DQ in the tournament.

Yeah, there's nothing more disappointing than a crappy first champion.

Yeah, there's nothing more disappointing than a crappy first champion. Brother I know it. My first LOW fed had Chris Candido as the initial champion over Dr. Death, Curt Hennig, Inoki, Destroyer, Don Leo Jonathan and whoever the hell else I had in the tournament and I had to kayfabe the title switch because he kept winning over guys I actually wanted to be champion. Ox Baker is a similar level of terrorist. You just gotta book him in undercard feuds with guys who can do hardcore matches because the second you put him against any headliner, it's a heart punch and that guy's out for like 8 weeks.

The black and white Candido card scored some upsets for me but nothing like that. Koko had an upset reign over Baba but Cowboy Bob Orton had a six defense reign and I can't remember who I had to put him with to get the belt off him.
