I stopped giving wrestlers title shots after both Candido and Lyons won the belts briefly.
As for starting with champs, I could but I like running tournaments.

The black and white Candido card scored some upsets for me but nothing like that. Koko had an upset reign over Baba but Cowboy Bob Orton had a six defense reign and I can't remember who I had to put him with to get the belt off him. now i'm thinking about seeing if i could get koko to the title in my wwf fed and have him headline mania 3 vs. barry windham |

I think my first hint of advice for someone would be to remember you are writing for an audience of one. This board is a great resource for ideas and a wealth of creative experience but remember we aren't your audience. If your idea of a good time is Jimmy Valiant disguising himself as the Easter Bunny and beating Lou Thesz up with a giant carrot before their big title match then do it. If someone says that's dumb, well who cares you didn't write it for them.
I don't say this to be discouraging because I love the game but you have to love this game to run a long term promotion. You have to if you want to start off a card in month 15 that's opening up with Buddy Rose vs. Brad Armstrong when neither guy has had an ounce of relevance for you.

I had Mutant guest announce on TV once and it was just him eating his tie the whole time and saying nothing. So I have done my share of dumb things. |

It reminds me of an old PWI where they did fan predictions....one was Bobby Eaton and Abdullah the Butcher would take over as announcers, ratings would go through the roof.
