I've been thinking about this a lot lately and apparently so have a lot of other people. Here are some basic things I keep in mind when starting or maintaining a fed. I'm curious about what everyone else does. - Roster Size - Pick enough wrestlers and teams so that you could do two shows in one night. You need enough wrestlers to have a good variety but not so many people get lost in the shuffle
- Don't get in a rush. Take as much or as little time to let an angle develop
- Even your top guys don't have to be on every show. The more often your main eventers wrestle each other, the less special the match becomes
- Don't have matches just to have matches. Every match should have a purpose, even if that purpose is to get a guy out there and see how he does.
- If something isn't working, don't be afraid to pull the plug on it. If an angle isn't excited, there's no shame in sweeping it under the rug. I planned a feud between Pampero Firpo and Bobo Brazil but the first match was long and boring so that was that.
- Don't overplay your matches. The trend in modern wrestling is to have the same main eventers wrestle each other all the time. I try to space out the rematches, especially for the belts, Otherwise, things get stale in a hurry
- If you introduce a belt, make sure you have enough contenders to go around In the early days, I loved having belts but it gets a little ridiculous when you have a five match card and four of them are title matches. I introduced the LWF Southern title in my current fed and I'm still not completely sold on it.

I hope you don't mind me adding to this? --------------------- PAY-PER-VIEWSDetermine the frequency that you have PPVs (every 10 cards, for my stuff) Give names to your PPV(s) What is the gimmick for the PPV? - Big Battle Royal
- Tournament for top contender to wrestle champ later at the PPV
- Multiple "team VS team" matches
- King of the Ring
- Money in the Bank, etc...
Determine if you change some of your roster after the PPV -------------------- As for your original post, Gunslinger: I put every wrestler on every card just so they have a chance to win three matches in a row. This grants a shot at a Belt in my fed, so I give my whole roster a chance to win. Kind of like the lottery: You can't win if you don't wrestle! Nice list and a good starting point! Todd C WTIC

Here’s a few I keep in mind
1. Every match doesn’t need a storyline 2. Make matches you want to see 3. Manage your fed from top to bottom. 4. Keep my roster between 32-39 men 5. Whoever lost needs the “win” outside the ring 6. Less is more.

My normal shows are 6 matches tops.
I agree with almost all of the things that have been brought up, I gotta say.

I've got about a 24 wrestler roster, so about 11 or so matches per fight card. 36 is about the most I've had in my roster at one time, I think, back when I used to do up my GWF fed. I go with a very "sports like" presentation, tracking records and rankings so, at minimum, every match impacts those and has a purpose.

When you're just starting a fed, with no feuds and no storylines yet, how do book the first few weeks and how do you rank your wrestlers to determine title shots, main events, etc?

When you're just starting a fed, with no feuds and no storylines yet, how do book the first few weeks and how do you rank your wrestlers to determine title shots, main events, etc? The first month is usually the wild west for me. I'll come up with a couple things to build toward but there haven't been enough matches yet for the win-loss records to mean very much. If I do a tournament to crown a champion, I'll usually try to position people so I get a strong final match out of it and build a couple angles coming out of the tournament.

When you're just starting a fed, with no feuds and no storylines yet, how do book the first few weeks and how do you rank your wrestlers to determine title shots, main events, etc? Title shots ? Start a tournament or hold a battle royal / royal rumble winner is champion ? Or last two return next card for a special match to declare a champion Feuds any matches that end in Dq or Double Dq'd usually starts a feud in mine . Or big heel beaten by mid carder or jobber another one I do ? Or just think in real life wrestling what would they do . If someone would do something after that match , then do it . Or you will fancy a feud (even if in real wrestling it never happened) create it . You can't beat me match ? Main eventers ? Wrestler/s that will alot in your feud ? Popular or hated by the fans in your fed
