Henry Irslinger def. “Lightening” Rod Fenton by pinfall. This one ends in just three moves when Irslinger counters and catches Fenton with a dynamic throw and referee Dick Woehrle is in position for the three count. DUD

Video Package of Mikey Whipwreck’s recent problems with Chris Candido & “Mr. Electricity” Steve Regal

Mikey Whipwreck checks in to speak with Gordon Solie with Candido & Regal already in the ring prepared for action. Solie wants to know of Whipwreck has found a partner and Whipwreck says he gone back into this own personal history to find someone to watch his back… Enter Sandman starts and the fans are ready for some chaos!

Chris Candido & “Mr. Electricity” Steve Regal def. Sandman & Mikey Whipwreck when Candido pinned Whipwreck after a BLOND BOMB. Despite having Bill Alfonso as the official, Whipreck was quickly overwhelmed and this was over in not time after a Candido finisher. DUD

Al Snow and Head is interviewed by Gordon Solie as they talk about the history with Fritz Von Goering when Von Goering strikes again and cracks Snow across the back. Von Goering smashes Snow several more times as security is called out to break things up. Their scheduled Texas Death Match is thrown out!

Video package of Bruiser Costa & Wild Bill White and their win over the Canadian Open Tag Team Champions in non-title action which earned them a title shot.

Canadian Open Tag Team Champions Magnum T.A. & Barry Windham def. Bruiser Costa & Wild Bill White by disqualification when Road Warriors attack the champions. Paul Ellering joints the commentary team for this one and Windham dominates against White. With only a couple minutes lapsed. Allen tags in and finishes White with a BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX but Hawk and Animal storm the ring before Morgan Dollar can finish the count laying waste to Allen and then Windham while White and Costa get out of harms way. DUD.

Wild Bill White and Bruiser Costa confront Gordon Solie to speak their minds telling Solie that White would have kicked out and that the Road Warriors screwed them out of the titles. White and Costa challenge the Warriors to a match with the their title shot at Maple Leaf Gardens on the line since White and Costa are the true number one contenders. Paul Ellering gladly accepts the challenge for next week!

Although it's unlikely they would have won the straps, it's pretty unfortunate they were screwed out of a clean finish by the Roadies... Nothing like a little bit of surprise drama, courtesy of those little six-sided buggers... Good times!

Card 12 – Maple Leaf Wrestling – Ringside – Brantford Civic Centre, Brantford, Ontario (2021.08.07)

Vampiro def. Frank Dalton after a power bomb. Frank Dalton has some choice words for the ring announcers grabbing him by the collar but Vampiro hits the ring for the save and Dick Woehrle calls for the bell. Vampiro dominates this one from bell to bell but Dalton does manage to kick out after a NAIL IN THE COFFIN. Dud.

2 Cold Scorpio is interviewed by Gordon Solie and gives a passionate promo about competing in singles and tag team action.

Val Venis def. 2 Cold Scorpio with a fisherman’s suplex. Scorpio hit the ring fired up after speaking with Solie at ringside but Venis survived an early attack from Scorpio and slowly assumed control of the action. Venis sent Scorpio into the ring post hard about half way through the match earning some heat from the fans at ringside. Scorpio never fully recovered as Venis used a reverse figure four multiple times to slow down his opponent’s offense and struck with several Russian leg sweeps and tombstone piledrivers before getting the three count from James Beard. ** ½

Hillbilly Jim def. Rock Riddle with a scoop slam. The fans are solidly behind the big man from Mud Lick and he really takes it to Riddle with stomps, punches and slams. Riddle gets caught with a BEAR HUG but a thumb to the eyes breaks him free. Morgan Dollar warms Riddle but the action continued with Riddle holding the upper hand but momentum was soon back with Jim who picked up the win. **

The post match celebration and dancing by Jim and fans carries into an interview with Gordon Solie who congratulates Hillbilly Jim on his victory but things are cut short when The Spoiler comes out and runs down Jim calling him a joke to the profession of wrestling and things get physical starting with shoves and then punches!

Commissioner Teddy Long is out and makes a match between Hillbilly Jim and The Spoiler for Maple Leaf Gardens tomorrow night!

Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) w/Paul Ellering def. Bruiser Costa & Wild Bill White by disqualification when Barry Windham & Magnum T.A. interfered and jumped the Warriors. White was cut off from his corner the entire match and took an epic beating for several minutes from both Hawk & Animal before DOOMSDAY DEVICE finished things but the Canadian Open Tag Team Champions hit the ring to battle their top challengers to the titles. Joey Marella has no choice but to call for the bell as dropkicks send the Warriors to the floor and a BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX takes out Ellering! DUD.

Road Warriors swarm Gordon Solie to finish the episode and predict mayhem and destruction for Allen & Windham at Maple Leaf Gardens!

Bruiser & Wild Bill get robbed again! At first, their non-title victory over the champs seemed like a booking nightmare... And now the crowd is left wondering WHAT this unlikely pair of favorites must do for a fair shake.

That being said, I'm very pleased to see my Vampire brother back in action.

Always enjoy a good dose of Maple Leaf action... Consistently entertaining from start to finish!

Card 13 – Maple Leaf Wrestling –Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, Ontario (2021.08.08)

Bruiser Costa & Wild Bill White def. Marcus Alexander Bagwell & 2 Cold Scorpio by disqualification when Bagwell used a camera strap to choke Costa. Referee Bill Alfonso had a part to play in this one before it was all said and done but before the finish at ringside, Scorpio and Bagwell showcased their speed and skill against both White and Costa. Things spilled to the floor and Costa went to choke Bagwell with a strap from Dr. Mike Lano’s camera bag but Bagwell turned things around much to the delight of those at ringside but not so much for the referee. * ½

Shawn Daivari def. Jake “The Milkman” Milliman with WMD. Milliman had his moments early in this one and the fans could not have been happier including whipping Daivari into the ring ramp. Dick Woehrle let that one go but Daivari soon was in control and landed his finisher for the win. * ½

The Spoiler def. Hillbilly Jim with a BIONIC CLAW. The fans were clapping along as Jim made his way to the ring and even referee Joey Marella could not resist a go round with the big man from Kentucky. Spoiler was in no mood for dancing and took the early control of the match. Jim proved to a difficult opponent as his simple, yet powerful, offense caused the masked competitor to rethink his attack several times. Jim managed to escape a BIONIC CLAW by getting a foot on the ropes. Later, Jim countered a clothesline in the corner with one of his own sending both men crashing to the mat. Jim recovered first and trapped Spoiler in a BEAR HUG but a thumb to the eye lead to Spoiler’s freedom. Spoiler’s conditioning began to given him the advantage and he landed his second rope-walk smash of the match. Jim was in trouble from that point and fell to his opponent’s finisher. ***

Koko B. Ware & Mikey Whipwreck def. Chris Candido & “Mr. Electricity” Steve Regal when Whipwreck used a WHIPPER SNAPPER on Regal. James Beard was in charge of the action. The fans were rocking from the moment that Ware and Whipwreck hit the ring and they danced along with “The Birdman.” There was a great pace to this one with Ware and Whipwreck working well together despite this being their first appearance together as a team. The action to the finish was crazy with Whipwreck hitting a Frankenmikey for a near fall and then Ware following with a BRAINBUSTER before Whipwreck hit his own finisher for the win. ***

Vampiro def. Sandman by disqualification when Sandman used his SINGAPORE CANE. This was a short but violent encounter. Vampiro avoided a charge to the corner in the opening minute and rolled up his opponent for a near fall from referee Dick Woehrle but Sandman kicked. Vampiro lead the action outside and it was costly as Sandman smashed him into the turnbuckle post busting Vampiro open. Sandman then grabbed his weapon and the referee had had enough and called for the disqualification. Vampiro was left dazed in the ring as Sandman leaves to heat from ringside. * ½

Bill Apter hosts a live Press Conference with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express. Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson both thank the fans for their best wishes and support while they recovered. The Express get fired up and talk about their return to action and promise the fans that they will be back in action next month at Maple Leaf Gardens. The fans are psyched as the Express then talk about Maple Leaf Wrestling first house show at the Civic Auditorium in Oshawa on August 22nd. Morton and Gibson can think of no better main event then the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express against the Valiant Brothers and throw down a challenge for the Jimmy & Johnny Valiant to face them in the ring at Oshawa!

Val Venis def. Henry Irslinger with a Russian leg sweep. Morgan Dollar called for the bell and this one began with a slow exchange of counters. Venis went move for move with Irslinger and was never in any serious trouble. Venis was able to pick up a pair of near falls before landing the MONEY SHOT but Irslinger kicked out. The momentum remained with Venis until he picked up the three count. ** [Vintage charts used for this match]

Sherri Martel def. Candi Divine with a TOP ROPE SPLASH. Joey Marella called for the bell and these two classic foes went to work immediately at a quick place. Martel picked up a near fall before the action went to the floor where Divine rammed Martel’s face into the ringside table. Divine dominated the action pick up several near falls after a pair of CROSS BODY BLOCKS and a SUNSET FLIP. Martel was reeling but managed to run Divine into the ringside table. It was enough to turn the momentum and her finisher followed seconds later for a comeback win. ***
Fritz Von Goering def. Al Snow w/Head in a Texas Death Match with a BACKBREAKER. Joey Marella’s only job was to make the three count as these finally squared off. Snow was on fire early on and battered Von Goering into a bloody mess with chair shots. Head got into the action with a pair of blows but Snow could not put his opponent down for the three count before the momentum turned. Snow was soon wearing the crimson mask himself after more brawling on the floor and a pair of chair shots. Von Goering and Snow went blow for blow before Von Goering delivered a crushing clothesline followed by his finisher for the victory. *** ½

Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) w/Paul Ellering def. Canadian Open Tag Team Champions Magnum T.A. & Barry Windham to win the titles after a DOOMSDAY DEVICE to Allen. The Champions started off strong cutting off Hawk from his corner. Allen looked to have the match won with a BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX but a seemingly slow count from Bill Alfonso had the fans on edge and champions upset. The momentum stayed with the champions and Windham caught Hawk with a LARIAT for near fall but once again the count appeared slow. The power of the Warriors finally broke through and Magnum T.A. was cut off from his corner. The Warriors combined for their finisher and Windham’s save was cut off and we have new champions! ** ½

Canadian Heavyweight Champion Harley Race def. “Strangler” Ed Lewis with a PILEDRIVER. Race barely broke a sweat before retaining his title in the main event. Race worked the lower body with a Deathlock and Lewis was tossed to the floor where he tripped over Dr. Mike Lano. Lewis was frustrated and when he returned to the ring, the Champion planted him with his finisher and Dick Woerhle made the three count. *

Race proving he is still the toughest hombre, turning away a top notch challenger in Lewis... And I must admit that I pretty much expected the Roadies to capture the tag belts... But, just wait... Bruiser & Wild Bill just put another big notch in the W column... Yeah, I know it was a sketchy DQ finish... Quit whining, Bagwell.

Absolutely loved the violent exchange between Vampiro and Sandman... Hope this program continues... Awesome stuff!
