I do love me some Jim Londos Pariah!! And he overcame a blistering start by Sandman to prevail in the end, like the true legend he is/was! Great stuff Booker Bill, solid card of action all the way around (digging the Fantastics vs. The Valiants!).

Great stuff Booker Bill, solid card of action all the way around (digging the Fantastics vs. The Valiants!). Thanks for the comments. I was pleased that Londos made a definitive comeback in that match so that their feud could continue. I have their blow off planned for my next Maple Leaf Gardens show. I also like the Fantastics v. Valiants as well. The card mechanics of the two teams made for some exciting back and forth action.

Card 045 – Maple Leaf Wrestling – House Show – Niagara Falls Memorial Arena, Niagara Falls, Ontario (2022.01.23) Chris Candido v. Mikey WhipwreckReferee: Dick Woehrle A real back and forth opener had the fans rocking as the both men picked up several near falls before it was all said and done. Whipwreck was able to get the best of a late brawl on the floor and when the action returned to the ring he capitalized with a Frankenmikey followed by a tornado DDT for the three count. Winner: Mikey Whipwreck. ** ½ Shane Douglas w/Francine v. Jerry LynnReferee: Morgan Dollar Douglas is irate when Dollar decides to send Francine to the back before the action gets underway. Douglas decides to take his frustrations out on his opponent and within minutes crushes Lynn with a PITTSBURGH PLUNGE but Lynn is not the easily defeated. A piledriver forces Lynn to the floor to recover but Douglas follows and drops Lynn with a chair shot earing a disqualification. Winner: Jerry Lynn by disqualification. * Powers of Pain (The Barbarian & Warlord) w/Mr. Fuji v. Valiant Brothers (“handsome” Jimmy Valiant & “Luscious” Johnny Valiant) w/Captain Lou AlbanoReferee: Dick Woehrle This was another epic war between these two tandems who are both looking to get into title contention. Warlord and Barbarian showed off their power for first half of the match but could not put away the Valiant Brothers. Jimmy Valiant turned things around catching Warlord with a foreign object blow that had the fans up in arms. It took the distraction of Mr. Fuji to keep Warlord from being pinned after a SUPER ELBOW. Both teams used plenty of double teaming as the action when back and forth. A pin save keep the action going after an ELEVATED CLOTHESLINE to “Luscious” Johnny and Barbarian survived a DOUBLE CLOTHESLINE. The finish came after a sidewalk slam from Warlord to Johnny Valiant and gave the Powers of Pain a huge victory. Winners: Powers of Pain. ***** “Raging Bull” Manny Fernandez & Barry Windham v. Chaz Taylor & Tugboat TaylorReferee: Morgan Dollar Dollar has strict instructions for both teams. Windham and Fernandez are anything but impressed and turn down a handshake before the bell. Chaz Taylor was able to use his speed to keep Fernandez off balance early on and his father used his size to keep control. Windham evened the match and Taylor was never able to tag out again. Fernandez and Windham battered the larger Taylor but Tugboat managed to kick out after a SWEETWATER SUPLEX that shook the ring. A simple suplex put Tugboat away. Winners: Manny Fernandez & Barry Windham ** (Snake eyes) Trillium Title Tournament – Semi – FinalsSherri Martel (1) v. Mildred Burke (5) Referee: James Beard The action was closely contested and raged back and forth. Burke had control for longer stretches but it was Martel who picked up the near falls after a scoop slam and later after a clothesline. The ring could not contain the action and both competitors showed toughness brawling on the floor with forearms. Martel was able to catch Burke with a tackle rebounding off the ropes and followed up moments later with a TOP ROPE SPLASH to take a step closer to the title. Winner: Sherri Martel. *** [snake eyes] Canadian Heavyweight Champion Harley Race and Canadian Open Tag Team Champions Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) w/Paul Ellering v. William Muldoon and British Bulldogs (Dynamite Kid & Davey Boy Smith)Referee: Dick Woerhle This was a battle broken down into two parts. Race was dominated early on by Muldoon as the top contender for the Heavyweight Title used holds and counters to grind Race into the mat for several minutes but he could not get the pin. Both sides were able to make tags and the Road Warriors took over the match cutting of Kid from his partners. Smith made the save after a DOOMSDAY DEVICE kicking off a wild brawl. The Warriors and Race maintained the advantage and a second DOOMSDAY DEVICE minutes later was the difference maker. Winners: Harley Race & Road Warriors. *** WRESTLING SUNDAY February 13th 7:30 PM

Stellar victory for Sensational Sherri... And that main event really built up the champions heading into their next round of title defenses... Another remarkable show!

Valiant effort by Jimmy/Johnny(see what I did there)...seems like they have been talent enhancement in my fed, but when they hit on all cylinders...they are something...never give up on the Boys From NYC......thanks for another stellar card!

I was psyched to play out the six man tag team main event and the action really it into my booking plans going forward with Muldoon looking very impressive against Race and the Warriors getting the fall on the Bulldogs.

LOL. A master of words my friend. The Valiant Brothers have been a significant cornerstone of Maple Leaf Wrestling from their thrashing of the Rock 'n' Roll Express to their title challenge and now in their battle against Powers of Pain. I think a feud with the Fantastics is next as the two teams seem to have some chemistry but I cannot rule out another shot at the gold in the near future. They always seem to deliver high quality action.

Sherri Martel vs. Mildred Burke always seems to be a classic as it was in Niagara Falls. Great win for Sherri and I loved that six-man tag team main event.
