To answer the question of the tread: YES...but as others said you have to make the choice of WHEN to have the Manager take the chance for the distraction. To me, of course, it all depends on how you portray the Managers in your fed.

And for the off-shoot discussion f the thread...some of those 1 or 2 move matches are the incredibly, incredibly memorable (as others have also said)...

I have a house rule that heels will roll for distractor/saves/interference once their PIN is at a 5. For faces it's a 6. I figure a heel will attempt something shady a bit sooner than a face would.

I decide to try the distraction, pin save, or interference before rolling for the pin or dq. Say the distraction fails, or the pin save fails, I will allow an interference roll right then instead of the pin/dq. Usually only once depending how good the match is. Otherwise no distraction/save then roll the pin or dq.

It’s a tough decision but I believe the official rule would be that you are forced to choose whether or not to run manager interfere BEFORE rolling the DQ, same as you would roll a PIN save before rolling a PIN. If you run outside interference, distractor ratings and PIN saves AFTER the fact (after the DQ/PIN etc) then you’re going to end up using them all in every match, and that’s no fun. The fun and anxiety comes from choosing WHEN to use all these fun things. Hope that makes sense! Ahhh... Well said Rob. That explanation is perfect, and it has finally knocked me off that damn fence, and I have wavered on this since day one.

In my fed I would say no . Personally it's your fed , do what you want . As long as play the same for everyone . I have NO problem with you doing that .

It makes sense and I know you are correct sir, I made the change for this restart. Now I feel like that football coach who ends the half with a timeout lol I'll call for a punt on first down in the third quarter. Now the talking sports heads won't make fun of you

You know what? This brings up a semi related question I guess I've never been fully convinced of an answer.
So the distraction roll is for DQ and Pins. What about the Manager I interference ? Is that a straight roll off the chart/card or do I roll the manager distraction number first to see if I can use the manager card?

But not a bad question at all. That could be a good house rule.

Man, I can't count the number of times I've had a guy with a PIN rating up to, let's say seven with fatigue tokens, and he gets himself into another pinning situation. I roll for manager distraction and get a ten, then roll for the PIN and get a three or something. Kind of like when the manager puts the wrestler’s foot on the ropes but the referee doesn’t see it. Well, he tried.

Unless otherwise stipulated, a manager gets a single distraction attempt and a single interference attempt per match. The promoter decides the best strategic moments for the attempts. Not every single thing in this game is the product of a dice roll. We actually get to make some decisions on our own. 😉
