Cleveland is not a great city to judge Ohio as a whole by... lol 😉
If you're coming 71 S., get off on Polaris Parkway - anything and everything you could possibly want to eat is there. Exit just before 270 outerbelt, #121.
You know you want some RASIN CANES!

The day took a downturn when I arrived in Cleveland and the rental car agency I booked a car with a full week ago did not have a car ready for me. I made the best of the situation and took out my labtop and made my daily fed post and worked on getting caught up on wrestling while waiting for a car to be ready for me. It took 3 1/2 hours past my scheduled pickup time, but I finally got a rental car. During that time, I saw many other customers walk in and get turned away despite already also having booked a vehicle. When I finally got a car, the manager told me he worked extra hard to make sure I got a vehicle since I was cooperative and not a jerk like the other customers. I finally got a car and drove through a monsoon (at least it seemed like a monsoon for me from Las Vegas lol) and got to Canton and I spent 2 hours at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Sorry to hear about the rental car mix-up, Zeke! I heard recently those things have been happening a lot lately with more people traveling again. Way to be patient and I am very thankful you eventually got a car!

From what I understand, rental car companies sold off a lot of their cars during the pandemic since people weren't traveling as much. BUT there is a shortage of new cars as well so now that people are traveling again, those rental companies can't buy cars quick enough to bring their inventory up to where it needs to be.

Yeah, everything with travel, cares included has been turned upside down the past 2 years. Used to be rental cars were most busy during the week for business travelers, but that has dried up. Weekends used to be easier, but now more folks are renting cars instead of flying or using public transport, so its near impossible in some cities to get a car on the weekends. I work in hotels and our bread and butter was groups and business travelers, who are not coming. Our weekend business has exploded recently, but they dont have the staff to support them and their needs on the weekends.

I'm renting a vehicle for the TNTHOF weekend and I got my day before confirmation call from Enterprise (does anyone else ever experience this when they rent a car, or does my shop just have a lot of no-shows?) Anyways, they wanted to ask if they could swap a SUV for a mini-van. I told them that was fine. They have tried to stick me with a F150 before, which isn't practical when you're driving six hours on a business trip, so hopefully they have what I need. I'll find out tomorrow morning!

That is all correct. Last August when my truck got totaled I wanted to find a truck just like it since it saved my life in that accident. As you said, vehicle production was down during the pandemic so to get the truck I was looking for I actually had to go next door to Arizona.

The rental car agency in Cleveland yesterday at first wanted to put me in a cargo van. But I only have 1 roller bag and two backpacks so I really did not need a cargo van to transport me and my 3 bags across the state of Ohio and into Indianapolis. I am glad I waited for a car to become available as I think it would have been difficult to get that cargo van parked in the underground hotel parking lot here in Cincinnati.

Where are you stopping to eat at in Columbus sir? My friend asked me to meet her for lunch at a place called Brew Dog (the food was OK) and then we walked across the street to get a 2nd beer at a different brewery.

After stopping in Columbus to meet a friend for lunch, I made it to Cincinnati tonight. I wonder, why do the hotels in Ohio run the AC full blast? This was the case in both Canton yesterday and in Cincinnati today. It was only 73 degrees in Cincinnati when I arrived, so it really is not that hot here and the hotel rooms are freezing (I had to wear my hoodie) from the AC running. But otherwise this hotel is great. I am in downtown Cincinnati and my hotel room partly overlooks what looks like the Bengals stadium. As I mentioned on another thread, tonight I went across the Ohio River to eat at Skyline Chili (I ordered it 3 Way as I can not eat onions.) The chili I had in Cincinnati is incredible! Tomorrow morning I am going down the street to tour the Cincinnati Reds stadium and then drive to Indianapolis to turn in the rental car and later meet up with TTX for a AAA baseball game between Indianapolis and Omaha at Victory Field. My hotel in Indianapolis is near the airport as I have a very early flight (something like 6 AM) on Thursday morning to Chicago to catch my connecting flight to Waterloo.
