The mock drafts I checked over last couple weeks were pretty sure the Tigers would take a college bat. Someone that might help sooner rather than later. Instead, they went with a HS player who has GREAT potential. He won Indiana player of the year as a sophomore and junior. I think he did as a senior as well because he was Gatorade player of the year. Hit for really good average with some power and speed on the basepaths. Have to wait a couple years till his bat can help our poor offense but this is for the future. A nice pick. at least one analyst has compared him to Corbin Carroll, if he hits that ceiling then the Tigers have a future superstar I saw that the likely future Las Vegas As at #6 selected Jacob Wilson who is the son of former Pirate Jack Wilson.

I see people making the Carroll comparisons and also Johnny Damon. Both are cool. Good luck with Jacob Wilson. Both the As and Tigers have a long road to contention.

The Tigers just finished a four-game series with KC that shows the craziness of sports. Three of the games we only scored 3 runs in each one and won them all. In the other game we scored 10 runs and lost.

It appears that the Scherzer/Verlander reunion in NY is coming to an end already. Reports are they are trading Scherzer to Texas.

As a Tiger fan I kind of hoped the Mets would be great this year due to the pitching combo. The other side of me is laughing at their high price failure. My Tigers have been mediocre at best and are only 3 games behind the Mets.

I had SportsCenter on for a few minutes last night and they said that actually none of the teams with the 4 highest payrolls (Mets, Yankees, Padres, and Phillies) would make the playoffs if they started today. I also just saw that the Mets traded Verlander back to Houston for 2 of Houston's top 5 prospects.

I know the Tiger's batting average is near the bottom of the league, along with the Yankees.

Early in the season me and my dad talked about how the Tigers were doing good if not for the AL East. In the first 40 games or so the Tigers were over .500 against any team not in the AL East.
