Well, the end of an era is upon us. With all of the Lions buzz, most of Detroit sports media has finally realized that Miggy's last game is on Sunday. I have a friend going to Friday's game and another friend going to Saturday's game. I'm glad the Lions don't play on Sunday so I can watch Miggy's last game instead. Now getting the bar to switch the sound off the Browns and Cowboys games might be a tall task but I'll see what I can do, LOL. I don't have cable at home or this wouldn't be an issue. TIGAZ!!!

Cabera hit a home run today. That sets it. He will end his career in the Top 25 of hits, home runs, RBIs and doubles. What an amazing career. You know something Big Bri I wonder if the NFL looked at the Tigers schedule when doing theirs. I mean it is cool that the Lions end up on TNF instead of playing Sunday so Detroit can focus on Cabrera's last game.

Tomorrow is the last game for one of the best hitters MLB has ever seen. I have mixed feelings about it. I have admired what Cabrera has done in his career and thankful we had him for so long. He has actually hit pretty good this year. But for a few years I have waited for this because his huge salary is based more on past performance than current one. The money we save next year will go to some FA to help make us better. Still, going to be weird not having him on the roster next year.

What a cool way for Miggy to end his career by running to first base to get a player out. I love how Hinch pulled him out of the game at that point and the party started. Also great that Detroit won and the weather was awesome!!! TIGAZ!!!

Tigers signed a mediocre 35-year-old pitcher to a two-year deal at $12 million a year. Not a good sign for next year. I thought our starting rotation would be set. Signing him smacks of desperation. I hope I am proven wrong.

I hope I am proven wrong. Always sucks when your team does something like that. I remember back in 2019 my Canucks signed Tyler Myers to a 5 year deal worth $6 million per season. I hated the deal because at the time he already wasn't worth that amount and he's only gotten worse since. I think about some of the talented players they could have kept or brought in for that money. Thankfully his contract his up after this season and I don't think anyone in this city will be sorry to see him leave. Hopefully that pitcher works out well for the Tigers.

You never can have enough pitching depth. Someone's going to miss some time somewhere.

GM Scott Harris said part of the reason they signed Maeda is to help mentor the young pitchers. Harris said Maeda does the right things and can show them the right approach to the job. If that is the case I am more on board with the signing. We do have a young pitching staff and more young arms in the minors. They could use that help. Also, Harris said, like Troy, you can never have enough pitchers.

Tigers signed relief pitcher Andrew Chafin to a one-year deal with a team option on a second season. He pitched for Milwaukee and Arizona last season and was 3-4 with a 4.73 ERA. He was with us back in 22 and was 2-3 with a 2.83 ERA. We signed him for just $4.25 million so not a bad deal to give some more depth to our bullpen.

Tigers signed another veteran arm in RHP Jack Flaherty to a 1-year deal for $14 million. I see what they are doing now. Signing experienced pitchers to 1- or 2-year deals to help their talented young guys develop better. But with no long-term commitment. So, if the Tigers do take another step forward this season they can try and sign some big-name FAs in the off-season next year. I like it.
