Called it. Jace Jung was brought up from Toledo today. Meaning he made it before Spencer made it back.

Nice win by the Tigers today. A bunch of young guys shined which bodes well for the future. Spencer even came back and had a couple big hits, a double and triple. Of course, he tried scoring on the triple due to bad throw but was thrown out. The next 8 games are big for us. We have a "home" game against the Yankees to finish the series in PA. Then we head to Chicago for 7 games (3 vs Cubs, 4 vs Sox). If we can go 6-2 in those 8 games we get back to .500 and for me, at this point, that is the goal. Get to or above .500 to finish the season.

What a comeback win. We win the series taking 2 of 3 from one of the top teams in the league. The Yankees have one of the best offenses and not counting extra innings we held them to 5 runs, 1 run in the last two games. Tonight two of our young hitters, Meadows and Keith, had 3 hits each and another young gun, Jung, came up with the big hit to tie the game in the 9th and send it to extra innings. A lot to like about the Tigers these days. Just wish we could have got Skubal the win but at least he did not take a one run loss.

It would make sense. He leads in ERA, at the top for wins and strikeouts. Only thing working against him is team performance, but I never liked that argument. If anything, the poor offense should be looked at as he might have more wins and less losses with a better offense behind him. He pitched great against the Yankees but was facing a L and ended up with a no decision in what should have been a W game.

I mean there's the year Steve Carlton won it when his team had 59 wins total and only 32 without him pitching. Best pitcher is best pitcher regardless of team probably even more than MVP is.

I was not happy with the free agent signing of Kenta Maeda. I am sad to see my expectations have been met. He is BAD. The good news is we still have him under contract for another year at $12M. Sigh.

Seattle fired their manager. It was not because they went 1-5 against the Tigers recently but that sure did not help his case.

On Monday MLB history will be made. Danny Jansen will be the first player to play for two teams...in the same game. Basically, he was on one team when a game was suspended to be made up later. He then got traded to the other team and that game is being made up this Monday. One player, one game, two teams
