We are in 2nd going into our off day. Still a long way from being a real good team but finally makes some steps in the right direction.

Nice to see the Tigers doing better than expected at this point. Long way to go though. TIGAZ!!!! One good thing is we have got a lot of our games against the AL East out of the way. HUGE difference in our record against them this year vs all the other teams. Plus, we have played a few more on the road overall. Our bats are warming up a bit and Baez being benched has got him refocused. He took the situation like a champ and has responded. We are far from being a contender but being in our division we might win it and make the post season.

Just when things were going good here come the Mariners to sweep us. Hopefully we can get back on track against Pittsburgh.

The Tigers need to demote Joey Wentz like yesterday. He has just been brutal lately. Let him try and fix his game in the minors and put just about anyone else in his slot in the rotation. I cannot see how anyone could be any worse than him right now.

Tigers lost 2-1 and all the runs were scored on wild pitches. Not sure how many times that has happened in MLB history if at all. Crazy stuff.

Because it is the Sunday morning game on Peacock and because I have not seen Corbin Carroll yet (most Diamondbacks games are blacked out here in Las Vegas because the Dbacks claim this area for broadcast purposes,) I am currently watching the Diamondbacks vs Tigers. I just saw Miguel Cabrera pass up Dave Winfield on the all time hits list.

Cabrera passing Winfield is great. About the only thing good going on for my boys right now. I guess that is worth Cabrera staying around this year. I love the guy but at this point I am thinking of the big opening in our payroll when he is gone next year. His body just does not have it. I sure hope the Tigers offer him a hitting coach job starting next year or later if he wants to take some time off away from baseball first. The man would have won back to back Triple Crowns if not for one player having a career year in HRs and RBIs.

Although I mostly turned the game on to watch Corbin Carroll (awesome player,) it was cool to see Miguel Cabrera make some history today. Cabrera is now just 4 hits away from Alex Rodriguez, 30 hits away from Tony Gwynn, 31 hits away from Robin Yount, and 43 hits away from George Brett.

Tony and Robin are likely. George might be a stretch. A lot depends on if he starts getting hot at the plate and if the Tigers decide with the division out of reach to let him chase those guys.
