GENE: Seems like ages fans, it sure is good to be back with some super exciting news from The POWERS THAT BE.....here in Great North Wrestling!!!!! First bit of information, here are your current GNW CHAMPIONS, as of 9/21/2023.............

NEXT order of business, there are a couple of roster moves that were made, and 2 big stars are being released (by their request)...and 2 new wrestlers are under contract to fill these spots until the next ROSTER SHUFFLE in December....

Both Johnny Valentine and Fred Blassie, have requested to be released from their GNW contracts effective immediately, so they may compete and tour in Japan....we wish both these stars continued success, and hope that they might return to the area in the future.......

Great North Wrestling's Commissioner Bill Watts along with the GNW BOARD OF DIRECTORS .......have the following announcement....Effective 9-22-23 Great North Wrestling is proud to announce the signing of 2 new wrestlers to the active roster. These men will be under contract until the end of December 2023, with the option of possible extensions at our discretion. Please welcome the following wrestlers, JOHN TOLOS and FIT FINLEY......congratulations and welcome and good luck gentlemen.

GENE: One more thing before we go...... HALLOWEEN NIGHT TUESDAY OCTOBER 31ST......bell-time 7PM, the FARGODOME is the place to be for our next PAY-PER-VIEW EXTRAVAGANZA. .....GNW ALL HALLOW'S EVE #2!......like last year no TITLES will be defended, and all matches are of the SPECIALIZED variety! Both GNW Singles titles (World and Inter-State) changed hands tonight in Mason City's sold-out MULTI-PURPOSE ARENA!!!

The Fit Finley era has begun here in the GNW! The tough Irishman defeats Cowboy Bob Ellis in his Great North debut! Ellis and Finley went back and forth in this entertaining match. Ellis almost used his BULLDOG, but FIT managed to escape it. Unfortunately BOB couldn't elude Finley's SHORT ARM CLOTHESLINE. Time: (9:49).

Score one for South Africa's devious Col. Debeers as he upsets Taz tonight in Mason City. Taz entered the ring and promptly suplexes the Colonel all over the squared circle, and Debeers leaves the ring in disgust and confusion. Once back in the ring the match turned ugly, and Debeers loved it. He takes several shortcuts and Taz is soon on his back and in trouble. Debeers (2 tokens) hits Taz (2 fatigue) with a LOW BLOW (no DQ), followed by a FACE FIRST PILEDRIVER and gets the 3-count. Time: (8:52).

It's was Mayhem in Mason City as Thunderbolt Patterson and Ox Baker clashed in a slobber-knocker! The crowd was on its feet nearly the entire match as these two veterans battled back and forth! Baker seemed on the road to victory, until a Patterson double thrust, stopped his momentum in its tracks! After an outside battle, where Thunderbolt reverses an Irish Whip by Baker, sending Ox into the ringpost, Patterson alertly puts the stunned Baker back into the ring. Once back inside Patterson unleashes a series of HEADBUTTS and Baker is finished.
Time: (10:15).

********INTERMISSION********

Former GNW Tag-Team champions Bad News Allen and Brickhouse Brown's (B&B DESTRUCTION CO.) in-ring woes continued as they lose by disqualification to THE TAYLORS (Tugboat/Chaz). Despite dominating the bulk of the match, Bad News, let's his temper get the best of him. He gets DISQUALIFIED for using a chair on Tugboat during an outside encounter. Despite winning Chaz and Tugboat were laid out on the floor after this one.
Time: (9:50).

**GNW INTER-STATE CHAMPIONSHIP**
After 2 successful title defenses, AJ Styles is champion no more as Rocky Johnson becomes the new GNW Inter-State Champion!! Mason City was treated to a wrestling gem, as both men put forth a championship caliber effort! Several pin attempts by both participants, kept the crowd on the edge of their seats! After kicking out of Styles' CALF KILLER, Rocky uses some dropkicks to battle back, then pins AJ with a FLYING BODY PRESS!
YOUR WINNER AND NEW GNW INTER-STATE CHAMPION-----ROCKY JOHNSON!

****GNW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH****
As beautiful as the previous match was, this one was UGLY by comparison, but that's how STAN HANSEN likes it. Unfortunately for GNW World Champion Ed "Strangler" Lewis the BAD MAN FROM BORGER, was overwhelming tonight in Mason City. In the beginning Lewis was able to hold his own, but the constant brutality exerted by Hansen was too much, even for THE STRANGLER. Hansen used his fists, and feet, and everything illegal he could get away with as well, and his strategy worked to perfection. He brutalized Lewis inside and outside of the ring, finally ending the match with a sickening POWERBOMB, after nearly decapitating Ed with a LARIAT seconds before.
YOUR WINNER AND NEW GNW WORLD CHAMPION---- STAN HANSEN! Time: (18:43).

Here's the results from a busy Monday night in Bismarck!!!

Baron Von Raschke defeats Hugh Morrus in the opening match! The German used his cunning, and a few shortcuts along his path to victory. Morrus was stunned about midway in the match as The Baron knocked him off the top turnbuckle, sending Hugh crashing out onto the floor. Raschke seized the moment and never relinquished it, and is victorious using his dreaded BRAIN CLAW. Time: (8:43).

Pepper Gomez puts a notch on the winning side of his ledger as he wrestles his way past "Crippler" Ray Stevens tonight in Bismarck! The two veterans being no strangers to one another wrestled one hell of a match,and the crowd loved it. Gomez (2 fatigue) surprises Stevens (2 fatigue) getting the PIN with a reverse takedown into a MEXICAN CRADLE!
Time: (11:39).

The Boogie Woogie Man partied tonight in Bismarck at the expense of the evil KEVIN SULLIVAN!! Valiant energized by his "People" (aka the crowd), was nigh impervious to everything SULLIVAN threw in his way....Jimmy gets a pretty convincing win as he pins Sullivan after 2 BOOGIE WOOGIE ELBOWS! Afterwards Valiant dances through the masses on his way the back.
Time: (8:50).

**GNW INTER-STATE TITLE SHOT MATCH**
It was a breathtaking wrestling gem between two decorated young wrestlers, with an I.S. title shot on the line. Muta and Curt grappled like there was no tomorrow and it was epic. Back and forth these men traded blow for blow and move for move...either man could win at any point in this amazing confrontation. Tonight however fate sides with MUTA (3 tokens) as he pins HENNIG (4 tokens) via MOONSAULT, after Curt crashes shoulder first into an empty corner!. Time: (20:33.).

***GNW WORLD TITLE SHOT MATCH***
It seems THE CRUSHER'S Time has finally arrived here in Great North Wrestling. Always a resident of the GNW TOP 10, tonight he rises to the top of the mountain defeating another Top tier member Barry Windham, to secure his first GNW WORLD TITLE SHOT! Crusher used his brute strength to his full advantage, effectively negating Windham by keeping him grounded most of this match. In the end it was his STOMACH CLAW that forces Barry to tapout....after being applied for a prolonged period of time. Time: (12:28).

**GNW WORLD TAG-TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP**
HARD TIME (Boss Man/The Trooper) experienced the hardest of times tonight against THE GNW WORLD TAG-TEAM CHAMPIONS. ....The Road Warriors (3) Hawk/Animal led by Mr. Paul Ellering! The LOD was in no mood to be trifled with, and they exploded on Boss Man and The Trooper! Only briefly did HARD TIME have any control in this one. Animal and Hawk were relentless in their attack....and soon the outcome was evident. As TROOPER was sent crashing to the outside....Animal hoisted the Big Boss Man towards the lights, and HAWK delivers THE DOOMSDAY DEVICE on the big man!
Time: (10:26).

UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena, Milwaukee, WI

HERE are the results from an action packed Thursday night in Milwaukee!!!

John Tolos makes an impressive Great North debut as he dominates Tiger Conway Jr. in front of the loud and rowdy Milwaukee crowd! From bell to bell this match belonged to "The Golden Greek". He imposed his will on Tiger, after brief offensive attempt by Conway Jr. right at the opening bell. Tolos uses a FLYING KNEE DROP to get the pin. Time: (7:45).

Bobby Duncum decimated Dog of War member Ranger Ross in another one-sided contest. The big Texan battered and bruised Ross (4 tokens) until he just couldn't go anymore. It was after 2 kickouts by Ross (1 from a powerslam, the other a clothesline), that Duncum used his BULLDOG to finally secure the victory.
Time: (8:12).

It was all business between to rough and tumble competitors as Dick Murdoch and Big Bill Miller clashed in one doozy of a match. Miller's power was a perfect counter for Murdoch's mean and nasty disposition. Each man took the other's best shot and came back for more! They also skirmished on the outside on more than one occasion! This one ends in a DRAW, as both men were trading heavy shots as the bell rings!
20 MINUTE TIME-LIMIT DRAW.

********INTERMISSION********

Our first tag-team affair of the evening, was as good as it looked on paper, as The British Bulldogs waged war on The Koloffs (Ivan/Nikita)! The action was fast and furious as expected and the crowd was totally engrossed in this clash of former GNW WORLD Tag-Team champions. Nikita nearly pinned Davey Boy after a RUSSIAN SICKLE but The Dynamite Kid was able to break it up just in the nick of time! After a melee out on the floor, a frustrated Ivan uses a CHAIR on DYNAMITE.....and the RUSSIANS are DISQUALIFIED. Time: (12:38).

Don Muraco is victorious tonight in MILWAUKEE!! In an epic clash, The Magnificent One defeated the very game AJ Styles in a nail-biter! Styles had 2 pin attempts of his own, but Muraco powered out both times. With the momentum in his favor Styles attempted a FLYING CROSSBODY off the ropes, but Muraco drops down and AJ flies out of the ring hitting the floor HARD! Then once Styles manages to climb back into the ring, Muraco uses his ASIATIC SPIKE and then his HAWAIIAN HAMMER and gets the 1,2,3! Time: (13:39).

**2/3 FALL TAG-TEAM MAIN EVENT**
"The 8th Wonder of the World" Andre the Giant lumbers into the packed Panther Arena with his partner Diamond Dallas Page and leaves with a win in straight falls (2-0) over Ken Patera and The Dirty White Boy!

The 1st fall, was totally Andre and DDP's as they kept The DWB in the whole fall, making Patera a non-factor. Page gets the pin over DWB with his DIAMOND CUTTER!! (6:45).

The 2ND fall was a little better for Patera and The Dirty White Boy as they did get a couple of tag opportunities. But the end result remained the same, a victory for Andre and Page. As Page cuts off Patera, ANDRE delivers a BIG SPLASH, nearly putting The Dirty White Boy through the mat!(13:04). Total TIME: (19:49).

Here are the results from a Sunday night wild-west shootout in Big Sky Country!!!

Canadian star Dino Bravo looked impressive as he defeated the cocky and overconfident Buff Bagwell. Bagwell had things in control, but took way too much time patting himself on the back, and jawing with the crowd. Dino fights his way back and pins Bagwell after a jarring SIDE SUPLEX. Time: (8:10).

Yukon Eric in a rare singles match (he is one half of Yukon Gold along with Moose Cholak ), earns the victory over Irishman Fit Finlay. Finlay was his hard-boiled self, and really tested Eric tonight in front of the huge crowd in Butte. In a physical back and forth affair, Eric secures the eventual victory with his KODIAK KRUNCH! Time: (9:07).

In a crazy affair, Cowboy Scott Casey defeated the enigmatic Chris Colt! The unhinged Colt, took over early and his relentless unorthodox style stymied Casey. But Scott showed toughness and perseverance and that wins the day for him! After a series of high impact moves the cowboy slaps on a SLEEPER HOLD, and it's nighty nite for Chris Colt. Time: (10:26)

**********INTERMISSION**********

HARLEM HEAT w/Sister Sherri came into Butte with one thing on their mind......VICTORY! And tonight the bad Boys from Harlem, nearly killed Rock and Roll! The Rock-n-Roll Express (Morton/Gibson) were no match for the bigger, more powerful HARLEM HEAT this night in Montana. Booker T and Stevie Ray.....were impervious to the offensive strategy attempted by R&R. They isolated Gibson and really brutalized him. Morton fared no better, and Harlem Heat was unstoppable. Finally Booker T puts Gibson down for the count with a 110TH STREET SLAM! Time: (12:42).

**INTER-STATE TITLE SHOT MATCH**
"THE WORLD'S MOST SCIENTIFIC WRESTLER ", Wilbur Snyder has earned a shot at GNW Inter-State gold! He defeats the always tough Hercules Ayala to get the shot! Ayala (2 tokens) did his best to quell Snyder(2 tokens), but it was Wilbur's never-ending, always adapting wrestling style that stands out in this hard fought confrontation. Ayala gets caught in Snyders' ABDOMINAL STRETCH and eventually has to submit.Time: (10:56).

****GNW INTER-STATE CHAMPIONSHIP****
ROCKY JOHNSON is successful in his very first Inter-State Title defense, as he beats a very determined Curt Hennig! This was a wrestling gem from start to finish! JOHNSON kicked out of 2 PERFECT PLEXES on his way to victory. Only after the second failed attempt, did HENNIG start to cut corners out of frustration. But ROCKY was able to overcome all the obstacles, and after a flying forearm, he uses a RUNNING POWERSLAM and gets the pin! Time: (14:39).

Here are tonight's results from the Keystone Centre!!

In an excellent and entertaining opening match, Al Perez defeated Brad Armstrong! In a pretty even contest, Perez pulls out the victory after working on Armstrong's leg, then applying a SPINNING TOEHOLD to make him submit.
Time: (9:13).

In the battle of the big men, former Inter-State Champion King Kong Mosca wins over big Yukon Moose Cholak! It was a real brawling affair, both men looked impressive! After a big bruhaha on the outside, that ends with Mosca driving Cholak headfirst into the ringpost, big MOOSE isn't able the beat the referee's count to get back into the ring. WINNER by COUNTOUT Angelo Mosca! Time: (8:17).

Antonino Rocca was on fire tonight, as he wrestles his way past Adrian Adonis tonight in Brandon! Adonis rocked Rocca early and used some pretty brutal tactics to keep the high-flyer on the canvas! Antonino with the urging of the crowd digs down deep and stormed his way back! After a headscissors takedown, followed by a series of dropkicks Rocca uses his ARGENTINE BACKBREAKER and gets the win!
Time: (11:09).

Ox Baker and Stan Stasiak aka. THE HEART-STOPPERS......were at their brutal best as they crushed DOGS OF WAR members Sgt. Slaughter and Corp. Kirchner! They stomped and smashed to the big win, with relative ease. Slaughter/Kirchner did mount a little offense, but Baker and Stasiak put down the resistance with sheer brute force. After incapacitating Kirchner, leaving him lying out on the floor, both HEART-STOPPERS went to work on SLAUGHTER!....The Sarge falls in combat, when he receives HEART PUNCHES from both OX and STAN "The Man"! Time: (11:41).

"The Golden Greek" JOHN TOLOS remains undefeated here in Great North Wrestling as he put the hurt on fan favorite BWM Jimmy Valiant! Valiant started out strong, but a low-blow from Tolos (no DQ), took its toll on the Man from NYC. Tolos then proceeded to punch, stomp and kick Valiant at his leisure. After a big scoop-slam Tolos pins Jimmy via CORKSCREW. Time: (9:42).

**GNW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH**
The Crusher earned his title shot, and gave it his all tonight against GNW WORLD CHAMPION Stan Hansen!! ALAS, the "Bad Man from Borger, Texas" proved to be too tall an order tonight for DA CRUSHER! Stan kicked out of 2 Crusher pin attempts (Piledriver/Crusher Bolo)! These two legends battled it out...inside and outside of the squared circle. Hansen used some heavy boots and solid closed fists to get the upperhand late in the match. It takes 2 LARIATS to keep the challenger on the canvas long enough for the 1,2,3! Your winner and STILL GNW WORLD CHAMPION STAN HANSEN!!! Time: (17:48).

The Target Center was a rockin' when Great North came a knockin' SATURDAY night in Minneapolis!

Taz put on a suplex clinic, but it was all for naught as he falls to defeat at the "hand" of Stan Stasiak! Taz tossed Stan, from pillar to post, and looked like he was going to cruise to a victory in Minneapolis. BUT Stasiak in desperation drops Taz with one HEART PUNCH (his only offense)...and falls across his prone opponent for the 1,2,3. Time: (7:05).

It was a close, exciting match between two polished veterans in the second contest of the evening. Thunderbolt Patterson squares off against the explosive AUSTIN IDOL and it was intense! Patterson nearly pins IDOL after a double thrust, but Austin was able to kick out! After taking over the match, Austin (2 tokens) slaps on his LAS VEGAS LEGLOCK, and T-Bolt (2 fatigue) is forced to submit. Time: (10:47).

Kevin Sullivan despite using every dirty move in his vast bag of tricks, was still no match for BARRY WINDHAM! The lanky Texan, staves off every devious action perpetrated by Sullivan, and pays him back, and then some! After a series of closed right hands, Windham puts Kevin down for the pin with his SWEETWATER SUPLEX! Time: (9:44).

********INTERMISSION********

The action just kept on coming after the break, as AJ Styles and Ray Stevens met in a DONNYBROOK of a match. It was Styles' athleticism vs The Crippler's brutality! Both men were able to show their prowess, as it was a back and forth affair (8 total tokens, 4 for each man). After absorbing an extended amount of punishment from Stevens, AJ was able to recover just enough to hit RAY with a PHENOMENAL DDT for the win as the crowd erupted in approval! Time: (13:04).

**GNW WORLD TITLE SHOT**
Ox Baker was at his meanest, and nastiest, but big Samoa Joe wasn't intimidated in the least. It was an ugly, violent instant mat-classic! Baker's brutality was equally countered by JOE'S heavy impact offense. After ducking BAKER'S dreaded HEART PUNCH....Samoa Joe got the win with a timely STF! Time: (10:51).
